SABRE RED Pepper Spray - Police Strength - Compact, Pink Case with Quick Release Key Ring (Max Protection - 25 shots, up to 5X's more)

Very Quick

"I concur with another reviewer who stated you might take someone off guard with this cute little pink canister, because it doesn't look like a spray, or mace unit, but more like a container for a cosmetic item."

"I attached it to my set of keys, and there were a couple times where the safety lock came off while it was inside my bag, so be aware of it if you're taking things in and out."

"One you could sorta detach quickly however the release tab is very small and you'd better practice knowing how to manipulate it without having to look down to find it."

"I just got this half an hour ago and haven't actually tried carrying it around in my purse, but I've heard that the safety mechanism easily slides from "locked" to "unlocked/firing position" when it's being carried around."

"I will be keeping it for when I need to go out later at night and am alone to have for my own safety but I would not recommend this to any mother looking for protection."

"Luckily for me I used my instincts and was able to get out of them safely without any physical harm but the emotional weight still scares me when I think back on it."

"However, there are 2 alley ways that are dark, so I wanted her to carry something better then just her keys in-between her knuckles."

"I had two pepper spray units for years; one stayed in my purse, and the other was always with me on walks with my dog. Thankfully, I've only had to use one of them, once, when my dog and I were under attack by a menacing, off-leash dog, that wanted to fight... I concur with another reviewer who stated you might take someone off guard with this cute little pink canister, because it doesn't look like a spray, or mace unit, but more like a container for a cosmetic item."

"I purchased this a little over 6 months ago because I got a new job and didn't have a car, so I found myself walking home at night a lot... I attached it to my set of keys, and there were a couple times where the safety lock came off while it was inside my bag, so be aware of it if you're taking things in and out... I'm going away to college in a couple months, and I actually feel a little better knowing I carry pepper spray with me, definitely gives me more peace of mind."

"One you could sorta detach quickly however the release tab is very small and you'd better practice knowing how to manipulate it without having to look down to find it. You *don't* want to be fumbling around with this when you need it the most, so *make sure* you're capable of finding and operating the release quickly if you want to use this feature... I just took those things off and threw them away, as they really were more of a hindrance than a help."

"I just got this half an hour ago and haven't actually tried carrying it around in my purse, but I've heard that the safety mechanism easily slides from "locked" to "unlocked/firing position" when it's being carried around... There is a little bump in the "lock" area that helps a little, but on the whole you should still be really careful when throwing this in with other things... It's lightweight and like other reviewers have said, the pink color doesn't make it look like a weapon to begin with, which can be essential when you first whip it out."

"Right off I liked that this was compact and had the key clip with the quick release tab... There is a little swivel tab that when pushed to the left does not allow it to press down and shoot... I will be keeping it for when I need to go out later at night and am alone to have for my own safety but I would not recommend this to any mother looking for protection."

"Luckily for me I used my instincts and was able to get out of them safely without any physical harm but the emotional weight still scares me when I think back on it... If I ever feel like I'm in danger I take out my car keys and make it known that I have pepper spray and show it on the side of my packpack, purse or jeans... I try not to sterotype anyone who is close to me but if I ask someone to stop and instead of backing off, they get closer or become more agressive I grab my keychain."

"I got this because my wife sometimes has to walk a couple of blocks at night on a usually well lit, high traffic street. However, there are 2 alley ways that are dark, so I wanted her to carry something better then just her keys in-between her knuckles... My wife feels much more confident using it now, so I recommend testing it after it arrives and before you may actually need to use it."

Less Quick

"I had two pepper spray units for years; one stayed in my purse, and the other was always with me on walks with my dog. Thankfully, I've only had to use one of them, once, when my dog and I were under attack by a menacing, off-leash dog, that wanted to fight... It never occurred to me, until someone told me that they have about a 5 year shelf life... In addition to keeping track of expiration dates, remember to test your unit every few months to make sure it is not malfunctioning... I concur with another reviewer who stated you might take someone off guard with this cute little pink canister, because it doesn't look like a spray, or mace unit, but more like a container for a cosmetic item... Also, the expiration date on mine is March 2014, so they are definitely fresh units that will provide many years of increased security... Whether you buy this unit (which I recommend), or another brand, just don't be caught without one."

"I purchased this a little over 6 months ago because I got a new job and didn't have a car, so I found myself walking home at night a lot... But one night, I was approached by an older man who was persistent in wanting to talk to me and knowing where I went to school. Nothing happened to me, but I guess you could say it scared me enough to finally get something to protect myself. When I got the pepper spray in the mail, the first thing I noticed was how cute it was, being a pink-lover... I attached it to my set of keys, and there were a couple times where the safety lock came off while it was inside my bag, so be aware of it if you're taking things in and out... There were a few times so far where I have had to take it out for precautionary measures, but luckily I haven't been in a situation yet where I have had to use it. I'm going away to college in a couple months, and I actually feel a little better knowing I carry pepper spray with me, definitely gives me more peace of mind."

"I've never had to use it but it's not hard to verify that it would work if called upon to do so... I am marking it down one star however for two reasons: First, the "quick-release" keychain design wasn't so quick... One you could sorta detach quickly however the release tab is very small and you'd better practice knowing how to manipulate it without having to look down to find it. You *don't* want to be fumbling around with this when you need it the most, so *make sure* you're capable of finding and operating the release quickly if you want to use this feature. However the other one was extremely tight and I had to mess with it 5-10 seconds before the tab would go down and detach at all!... I just took those things off and threw them away, as they really were more of a hindrance than a help... The internal canister clearly just had a problem in the factory, and when I opened the packaging I had a pool of liquid all over my hands and on the table."

"I just got this half an hour ago and haven't actually tried carrying it around in my purse, but I've heard that the safety mechanism easily slides from "locked" to "unlocked/firing position" when it's being carried around. It's definitely not childproof because the mechanism only slides from side to side, there's no extra step in the unlocking process to guard against curious children. There is a little bump in the "lock" area that helps a little, but on the whole you should still be really careful when throwing this in with other things. I would suggest using a very small piece of tape to anchor the slide mechanism to the locked section, but make sure you can still push it to the unlocked position with relative ease... It's lightweight and like other reviewers have said, the pink color doesn't make it look like a weapon to begin with, which can be essential when you first whip it out... If you live in a dangerous area or if you want to be constantly protected, do order new pepper spray when the old one expires... The package tells you how to operate it, where exactly to spray, and perhaps most importantly, WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET SPRAYED."

"I have 4 young children and ordered this for protection because we live in a bad city with lots of armed robberies and attacks happening right in the middle of store parking lots and in broad daylight. I wanted to have something that might help to get someone away for my safety and my children's too. Right off I liked that this was compact and had the key clip with the quick release tab... It shot out at least 13 feet and had me coughing and nose running just from the smell in the breeze!... There is a little swivel tab that when pushed to the left does not allow it to press down and shoot... I have already opened the package and can't return it or else I would return it and find a spray that was better equipped with safety in mind... I will be keeping it for when I need to go out later at night and am alone to have for my own safety but I would not recommend this to any mother looking for protection."

"Once I bought a car I didn't think I would have much use for it and took it off of my keychain but I was wrong... Luckily for me I used my instincts and was able to get out of them safely without any physical harm but the emotional weight still scares me when I think back on it... I have golden brown hair and hazel green eyes like my mom but everyone swears left and right that I am not who I say I am because of my pigmentation. I've lived in "the hood" as many people call my hometown but because of my outter appearance many people look at me as if I were from Beverly Hills or something... If I ever feel like I'm in danger I take out my car keys and make it known that I have pepper spray and show it on the side of my packpack, purse or jeans. If I begin getting cat calls from close distances I make it very aware that I am grabbing my pepper spray and the men objectifyng me or my friends stop immidiately.

This has nothing to do with the product and more to do with her being a "girly, girl. " I told her to imagine someone is going to attack her and she needs to defend herself... My wife feels much more confident using it now, so I recommend testing it after it arrives and before you may actually need to use it. I would recommend this product to a friend, but my wife said she thinks the pink case is a unappealing color... But this expires in 2017 and hopefully it will never need to be used!"
