"The middle of the heel-strike is a little harder than the surrounding area and some people have complained about it, but I haven't been bothered by it in the short periods of time I've spent in them."

"I was hesitant to buy another pair after the first pair only lasted about a year but I decided to buy them again because I know the arch support is good, they are comfortable to wear, and most of the alternatives are more expensive."

"They still feel slightly short in length and the band that goes over the top of your foot is a bit tight."

"Background: I ve worn Reef s smoothy sandals for about 8 years and and my 2nd pair are starting to show their age because you can now see where the strap is attached on the sandal bottom!"

"(NOTE: After wearing them the first day, I did get a small blister on the top of my foot after walking around in them all day long."

"They don't really appear much different than the $10 pair of sandals I have been wearing since last year, but for the money they better turn into something at least as good."

"They do tend to fail sooner than they should, but for $30 I'm willing to put up with replacing them when I have to because the soles offer decent support--at least while they last."

"Reef Leather Slap ll - (Mens 9) Oddly, this sandal was a full size shorter than any other Reefs I tried, (A full 1/2 inch), so order up... Again, they are fairly light, weighing in at 134g, and I got these a full size up from the other two because everyone said they ran small... The middle of the heel-strike is a little harder than the surrounding area and some people have complained about it, but I haven't been bothered by it in the short periods of time I've spent in them."

"They fit a little tight on the top of my foot when I first wore them but the straps stretched out over the first couple weeks and they fit well after that... I was hesitant to buy another pair after the first pair only lasted about a year but I decided to buy them again because I know the arch support is good, they are comfortable to wear, and most of the alternatives are more expensive. In fairness, I did wear these a lot, they withstood heat and being worn in the water and then sitting in the sun for long periods and even fairly extended hiking trips."

"* They are very nice, definitely a cheaper version of Reef brand but if you want the best reef has to offer pay up a bit... They still feel slightly short in length and the band that goes over the top of your foot is a bit tight... Purchased in March 2016, the strap over the top of the foot pulled out from the base while walking on a sandy beach."

"Reefs are still more comfortable and better styled compared to most other flip-flops... Neutral: - the non-slip surface is obviously less smooth feeling on the foot than the smoothy sandal, but I suppose this will help keep my foot from slipping out when wet. Background: I ve worn Reef s smoothy sandals for about 8 years and and my 2nd pair are starting to show their age because you can now see where the strap is attached on the sandal bottom!"

"(NOTE: After wearing them the first day, I did get a small blister on the top of my foot after walking around in them all day long... I didn't have any problems after that first time - no recurring blisters or discomfort with similar wear for the rest of the summer)... I've never paid much notice to that aspect of flip flops, and I didn't think squeaking would bother me - but it actually kinda does."

"* I expected a LOT more from these Reef brand sandals that I keep hearing everyone talk about... They don't really appear much different than the $10 pair of sandals I have been wearing since last year, but for the money they better turn into something at least as good. I thought these were running really small, but after comparing them to my other flip flops that fit perfectly, I have determined that the problem is that the strap over your foot is just WAY too tight."

"But after 20 minutes of outdoor wear my feet are sliding around in them, and they feel like they will fly off with every step... Another point: This is my 3rd pair of Reefs in about 4 years. They do tend to fail sooner than they should, but for $30 I'm willing to put up with replacing them when I have to because the soles offer decent support--at least while they last."

"That being said, I have tried about twenty different sandals to find a couple that fit reasonably snug... I'll start with this one: Reef Phantom LE - (Mens 9) This leather sandal is much lighter than most of the others, weighing in at 142g... Reef Leather Slap ll - (Mens 9) Oddly, this sandal was a full size shorter than any other Reefs I tried, (A full 1/2 inch), so order up... They won't likely last as long as some of the heavier sandals, but they can be had for half the cost... Again, they are fairly light, weighing in at 134g, and I got these a full size up from the other two because everyone said they ran small... Reef Twinpin - (9) These basic synthetic leather sandals are fairly light at 137g each, and they have a slender footbed, but the thong is very lose and has no additional heel-strike... The middle of the heel-strike is a little harder than the surrounding area and some people have complained about it, but I haven't been bothered by it in the short periods of time I've spent in them."

"* I need Flip Flops with arch support so decided to try these out after reading the reviews. They fit a little tight on the top of my foot when I first wore them but the straps stretched out over the first couple weeks and they fit well after that. I am on my second pair now after the strap on one side of the first pair i bought broke. It actually looked like it came unglued from where it is attached through the top on the sole. I was hesitant to buy another pair after the first pair only lasted about a year but I decided to buy them again because I know the arch support is good, they are comfortable to wear, and most of the alternatives are more expensive. In fairness, I did wear these a lot, they withstood heat and being worn in the water and then sitting in the sun for long periods and even fairly extended hiking trips. Overall, I would recommend but I am hoping I get more than a year out of the second pair I purchased."

"* They are very nice, definitely a cheaper version of Reef brand but if you want the best reef has to offer pay up a bit... They still feel slightly short in length and the band that goes over the top of your foot is a bit tight. Good to keep it on your foot, difficult to get into for a flip flop. Overall very comfortable sandal, can easily be worn all day... Purchased in March 2016, the strap over the top of the foot pulled out from the base while walking on a sandy beach. Lasted me about 9 months with moderate to light use... I liked the look and feel which is why im leaving 2 stars but quality was not there."

"Reefs are still more comfortable and better styled compared to most other flip-flops. Pros: - Reef style is one of the better ones for flip-flops - arch support and cushion is good- important since I live in my flip-flops in the summer... Cons: - the strap was tight at first and definitely caused some discomfort for several days until they loosened up... That means my heel strike is not in the center of the footbed, but slightly off-center. Neutral: - the non-slip surface is obviously less smooth feeling on the foot than the smoothy sandal, but I suppose this will help keep my foot from slipping out when wet. Background: I ve worn Reef s smoothy sandals for about 8 years and and my 2nd pair are starting to show their age because you can now see where the strap is attached on the sandal bottom!... The color options for the smoothy are now black, or if you don t like that, you can order dark grey."

"(NOTE: After wearing them the first day, I did get a small blister on the top of my foot after walking around in them all day long. But I have not worn flip flops in a while and my feet aren't used to the pressure and forces of flip flops. I didn't have any problems after that first time - no recurring blisters or discomfort with similar wear for the rest of the summer)... I've never paid much notice to that aspect of flip flops, and I didn't think squeaking would bother me - but it actually kinda does. It would be nice to walk around the swimming pool without sounding like I'm killing a rubber chicken with every step... Side note: The sides of the sandals tend to attract and retain dirt easily due to the nature of the design (near the heal portion on the side where the Reef logo is located)... Overall, a good pair of sandals that look great."

"* I expected a LOT more from these Reef brand sandals that I keep hearing everyone talk about... They don't really appear much different than the $10 pair of sandals I have been wearing since last year, but for the money they better turn into something at least as good. I thought these were running really small, but after comparing them to my other flip flops that fit perfectly, I have determined that the problem is that the strap over your foot is just WAY too tight. I've been wearing them all day and hoping they would loosen up some, but they haven't. I'll update my review IF they actually do loosen up, but because they appear to be some type of synthetic leather on top with a standard nylon strap underneath, I don't see that happening. There is no real arch support to speak of in there, and the bottoms are nothing but hard rubber, not even a soft liner. I really hope these turn into a better sandal that what they are shaping up to be as I am very disappointed with them so far."

"* Not sure where all the reviews stating these run small are coming from... But after 20 minutes of outdoor wear my feet are sliding around in them, and they feel like they will fly off with every step. And unfortunately, once they're worn outside, I can't return them. Another point: This is my 3rd pair of Reefs in about 4 years. They do tend to fail sooner than they should, but for $30 I'm willing to put up with replacing them when I have to because the soles offer decent support--at least while they last. Reefs should consider stitching the straps in, and not just gluing them... So for the next 6 months I'll be sliding around in these things hoping they fail early so I can send them back under warranty and receive a pair of 11s in return."
