Litter Genie Ultimate Cat Litter Odor Control Refill - 3 Pack

Very Quick

"For a couple of months I cleaned out the litter into a plastic bag that went into the garbage, but there was a smell that I just could not take."

"The Litter Genie helps with a daily scoop because you don't have to find a bag to put your daily scoop in (which is a great way to use all those extra bags you may have laying around, but let's be honest, a lot of those have a little hole in the bottom, and you can use those for other things, like your lunch!"

"You tear off a black tab on the top, lift the top part out of the inside of the unit that is on a hinge, pull the bag out a little and pull it down past the spring loaded cover."

"I would say I dump my litter genie (as in cut off the bag and start a fresh) about 1 X a week and not because it smells but because It gets full and I remember to dump it that way Bottom line?"

"Now I'm stuck having to order more way sooner than I should have to and stuck with two long, cylindrical, plastic non-bags for which I have absolutely no use."

"It is VERY difficult to change these Genie refill canisters AND you waste a lot of the bags trying to figure out how long it should be inside the DISPOSAL unit."

"I've been getting these refills for three years, and in all that time, I've had one defective refill--the bag was apparently stuffed into its container the wrong way around, because I had to pull out the entire tube in order to get to the end."

"For a couple of months I cleaned out the litter into a plastic bag that went into the garbage, but there was a smell that I just could not take... My daughter comes a couple times a week to empty garbage but it takes longer than even two weeks to fill if you shake contents down... When the receptical is full, you just pull the bag out of the cartridge enough to cut it and tie it off."

"The Litter Genie helps with a daily scoop because you don't have to find a bag to put your daily scoop in (which is a great way to use all those extra bags you may have laying around, but let's be honest, a lot of those have a little hole in the bottom, and you can use those for other things, like your lunch!... Keeping a three pack on hand makes this part of your household chores, just like taking out the garbage or replacing the toilet paper... I have a lot of pride when people say, "Except for the fact that your cats are really awesome, and are trying to snuggle my face off, I wouldn't even know you have cats!!"

"The price is slightly less than what is available at my local PetSmart, and this saved me the hassle of going there only to find that these are not in stock... I have looked into alternatives to using the bags, but this is the most straignt forward method that is meant specifically to use with the Litter Genie. You tear off a black tab on the top, lift the top part out of the inside of the unit that is on a hinge, pull the bag out a little and pull it down past the spring loaded cover."

"Okay yes, I stole the reference from Broke Back Mountain but I'm using it because after having Litter Genie's for 4 years, I have tried to find cheaper ways to get the bags... I would say I dump my litter genie (as in cut off the bag and start a fresh) about 1 X a week and not because it smells but because It gets full and I remember to dump it that way Bottom line? If you have a Litter Genie - these bags are invaluable and will not only save you time and effort in the long run but make less waste in our world."

"The open ends of the string of bag was nowhere near the starting point but, rather, somewhere near the middle in one case and near the end in another... In this case, the policy sucks because I had absolutely no way of knowing this would happen until I tried loading them and it's not a product I could feasibly use all of within the 30 day return period. Now I'm stuck having to order more way sooner than I should have to and stuck with two long, cylindrical, plastic non-bags for which I have absolutely no use."

"I ended up going back to my foot-level stainless steel trash can with lid and placing 2 plastic shopping bags in there... I TRIED THIS unit and bags so I can tell you, it is not worth the extra money when you can have a great ALTERNATIVE that is always FREE, minus the kitty litter, as I describe below... It is VERY difficult to change these Genie refill canisters AND you waste a lot of the bags trying to figure out how long it should be inside the DISPOSAL unit."

"It saves so many bags and makes cleaning out the litter bin much less of a hassle than it would be otherwise... It can be a bit hard to pull off the plastic tab that keeps the bag/tube in place, but I've always been able to get it open after a few seconds. I've been getting these refills for three years, and in all that time, I've had one defective refill--the bag was apparently stuffed into its container the wrong way around, because I had to pull out the entire tube in order to get to the end."

Less Quick

"I had also experienced probably the worst thing that can happen to you after a knee replacement(wont go into details, but think someone put an IED into my leg). Because of that and the fact that although my unit is on the first floor, I need to walk up ten steps, so needless to say I can't take out my garbage. For a couple of months I cleaned out the litter into a plastic bag that went into the garbage, but there was a smell that I just could not take... My daughter comes a couple times a week to empty garbage but it takes longer than even two weeks to fill if you shake contents down. She wasn't able to get over when it was full so I went back to the plastic bags... When the receptical is full, you just pull the bag out of the cartridge enough to cut it and tie it off. Then you just pull the plastic material out of the cartridge and tie it off the you are ready to go."

"They like to give you a little side eye and a little grumpy face and sometimes they will leave "presents" in places where "presents" don't belong... The Litter Genie helps with a daily scoop because you don't have to find a bag to put your daily scoop in (which is a great way to use all those extra bags you may have laying around, but let's be honest, a lot of those have a little hole in the bottom, and you can use those for other things, like your lunch!... When you put the scoop in the Litter Genie, you can't smell it anymore... Then every now and then, you take out one big bag. Keeping a three pack on hand makes this part of your household chores, just like taking out the garbage or replacing the toilet paper... I have a lot of pride when people say, "Except for the fact that your cats are really awesome, and are trying to snuggle my face off, I wouldn't even know you have cats!! " Get yourself a Litter Genie, scoop on the daily, have happy cats, have a less stinky house."

"* I have been using the litter genie for about two years now... The price is slightly less than what is available at my local PetSmart, and this saved me the hassle of going there only to find that these are not in stock... We can usually get about a month per refill using the Litter Genie bags. If you have one cat, I am sure you could easily have one refill last a few months. As I have not used them that long, I do not know if the odor would be significant after that amount of time...

"Okay yes, I stole the reference from Broke Back Mountain but I'm using it because after having Litter Genie's for 4 years, I have tried to find cheaper ways to get the bags. The reality is everything out there except these suck for holding your cat's poop and pee... They CONTAIN the smell really well, I have mine in my bedroom closet and of course their litter box (I live with my Mom for now (she has dementia) and so I'm limited in space... As in they do not break, I've tried crappy grocery bags when I've run out and those are the worst... You don't have to dump literal crap into your garbage bag or garbage pail or dumpster like every day.

"That being said, the last order I placed was for a four pack of them and I can only use two. The first two were fine but the second two were loaded in such a way that they were unusable. The open ends of the string of bag was nowhere near the starting point but, rather, somewhere near the middle in one case and near the end in another... There is no way to use them once they are all pulled out of the container like this. Because of Amazon's 30 day return policy - which I have absolutely no problem with, by they way - I can't return them or exchange them for a replacement.

I have a Stainless Steel round trash can with lid and a step to open it and I placed 2 bags in the LINER OF THE PAIL (the pail comes with a plastic liner)... BTW, I have a 16-year old cat who uses the litter box more than 3 cats together, so my method is probably the cheapest way. I scoop the litter box every night before bedtime and/or whenever I use that bathroom, and the cat is extremely HAPPY. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY unless it is because of some other reason than what I have explained. It is VERY difficult to change these Genie refill canisters AND you waste a lot of the bags trying to figure out how long it should be inside the DISPOSAL unit."

"It saves so many bags and makes cleaning out the litter bin much less of a hassle than it would be otherwise... As for the refills themselves: These are the same as the starter pack that came with the Litter Genie itself, so they fit the unit perfectly. It can be a bit hard to pull off the plastic tab that keeps the bag/tube in place, but I've always been able to get it open after a few seconds. I've been getting these refills for three years, and in all that time, I've had one defective refill--the bag was apparently stuffed into its container the wrong way around, because I had to pull out the entire tube in order to get to the end. It was a shame to waste all that plastic, but at least the refills are inexpensive enough that it wasn't a huge loss. (I'm keeping the review at 5 stars because, in general, the product is awesome, and I consider that one defect to have been a fluke... ) Bottom line: If you have a Litter Genie (and, if you have an indoor cat and use clumping litter, I'd highly recommend it!"
