Very Quick

"For those in the market for an LED light that has a little "oomph", and if you are looking at the 100 LED and 51 LED models and wondering what to get and how much you really need, then I hope my experience helps you."

"Did poor kitty not make it to the litter some of the time while he was ill and we did not know it or was it older urine from a house guest who abused the privilege of having their doggy with them in our guest quarters?"

"I didn't find a lot, but there were times when I could smell cat in an area, but the light did NOT light up anything looking like pee or spray."

"Clean your bathroom and then use this to check around your toilet, walls, the floor....."

"I've found old pet urine on the carpets of my home from the previous owners dogs, spills, and even pointed out where my boys "aim" when they use the bathroom."

"PeeDar works but not as well and there is a new PeeDar2 that has more LED lights than the one in this test."

"The light will definitely show pee stains, I think water spots, and possibly cleaner residue on carpet or tile (didn't see any spots of hardwood floors in our experience)."

"Periodic broadcast-type bug spraying (like the kind from exterminators) is minimally effective at keeping scorpion populations down once they hit critical mass --- the best method to put a dent in their population is to hunt them at night when they are out and to spray them directly with a strong solution to eradicate them... Finally, it stays consistently bright for much longer - sure it is not as bright as the 100LED model on fresh batteries - but after 30 min the 51 LED is still going strong where the 100 LED is hot and has dimmed considerably... For those in the market for an LED light that has a little "oomph", and if you are looking at the 100 LED and 51 LED models and wondering what to get and how much you really need, then I hope my experience helps you."

"Did poor kitty not make it to the litter some of the time while he was ill and we did not know it or was it older urine from a house guest who abused the privilege of having their doggy with them in our guest quarters?... I had had a pet black light in the past but now there are these nifty led ones so, due to the reviews, I gave this one a try... I have found many yellow stains, some I Believe are urine and some I think are old vomit areas because I remember cleaning those areas up."

"Be aware that it will light up everything that ever was spilled or splattered in your house, just about... I took this light out on my carport, where I know a neighborhood Tom has been spraying, to give me an idea of what I was looking for... I didn't find a lot, but there were times when I could smell cat in an area, but the light did NOT light up anything looking like pee or spray."

"* Been house hunting and bought this to check potential homes for pet urine stains around the house and carpet... Some things will just glow - like the grout in one of the bathroom floors I think they used a swiffer mop or floor wax on ??... Clean your bathroom and then use this to check around your toilet, walls, the floor....."

"What I am sure of is that it finds things you would not have thought are looming around. I've found old pet urine on the carpets of my home from the previous owners dogs, spills, and even pointed out where my boys "aim" when they use the bathroom... Anyway, I originally purchased this to help me find where my cat urinates because I smell it, but I was never able to find it unless it was fresh..."

"First, let me just start right off and say that I could find no difference at all in design or function between the: Escolite 51 UV Ultraviolet LED Flashlight and TaoTronics 51 UV LED Flashlight They are the same in every possible way... PeeDar works but not as well and there is a new PeeDar2 that has more LED lights than the one in this test... They do help a little, but in my opinion, they are not necessary as you will see urine residue just fine without them."

"I think I had more enjoyment from this than my mom (her house, her rugs, her dog), The flashlight is made with a sturdy material and not excessively heavy. The light will definitely show pee stains, I think water spots, and possibly cleaner residue on carpet or tile (didn't see any spots of hardwood floors in our experience). I am planning to use this before and after carpet cleaning because this doesn't show age on spots."

"* I live in Arizona, and we have scorpions in our backyards - sometimes LOTS of them if you don't do something to keep them in check. Periodic broadcast-type bug spraying (like the kind from exterminators) is minimally effective at keeping scorpion populations down once they hit critical mass --- the best method to put a dent in their population is to hunt them at night when they are out and to spray them directly with a strong solution to eradicate them. Enter these UV flashlights - they are a staple for anyone living in Arizona who is serious about battling scorpions... I use rechargeable Eneloops, I would not even consider Alkaline battery in these 100 LED lights - they burn them up so quickly you would spend a FORTUNE on batteries if you had to use Alkaline... Finally, it stays consistently bright for much longer - sure it is not as bright as the 100LED model on fresh batteries - but after 30 min the 51 LED is still going strong where the 100 LED is hot and has dimmed considerably... For those in the market for an LED light that has a little "oomph", and if you are looking at the 100 LED and 51 LED models and wondering what to get and how much you really need, then I hope my experience helps you. Sometimes less is more, and bigger is not always better and from my experience with UV flashlights this became glaringly true!!"

"long lol 4 years ago we renovated our basement and brought in the big guns to clean the carpet because it was in good shape... However, we had just put down our cat after suddenly discovering he had a cancerous tumor around his heart and was suffering badly. Did poor kitty not make it to the litter some of the time while he was ill and we did not know it or was it older urine from a house guest who abused the privilege of having their doggy with them in our guest quarters?... We doused the suspected area with vinegar and let it site for a week, then called our carpet expert friend who told us to bring in a carpet steam cleaning company... I had had a pet black light in the past but now there are these nifty led ones so, due to the reviews, I gave this one a try... I have found many yellow stains, some I Believe are urine and some I think are old vomit areas because I remember cleaning those areas up... Then there are white areas, particularly where the vinegar was put and steamer company worked."

"Be aware that it will light up everything that ever was spilled or splattered in your house, just about... I took this light out on my carport, where I know a neighborhood Tom has been spraying, to give me an idea of what I was looking for. (This helped me inside the house, to figure out that my problem child is more my girl, than my boy. ) I then went around with the light in one hand, and a spray bottle of Nature's Miracle in the other. I didn't find a lot, but there were times when I could smell cat in an area, but the light did NOT light up anything looking like pee or spray... ) I have since done some reading online, and found that there is a measurement to look for when buying one of these lights... This light falls slightly out of range, so although it works some, there is A LOT of room for improvement."

"* Been house hunting and bought this to check potential homes for pet urine stains around the house and carpet... Some things will just glow - like the grout in one of the bathroom floors I think they used a swiffer mop or floor wax on ?? If you want proof it works - go pee in the toilet and turn the light out - point this LED at the toilet and it glows like you poured those kids neon green glow sticks into the toilet. I turned the lights out and used the flashlight while I was peeing - of course I did - I am a guy... I have been looking at houses and even though they look clean = hardly anything is. Stains you can't really see if at all with regular lighting will glow like a crime scene with this Black Light LED... Clean your bathroom and then use this to check around your toilet, walls, the floor....."

"* I'm not sure if I like finding what I find with the flashlight or if I'm grossed out by it. What I am sure of is that it finds things you would not have thought are looming around. I've found old pet urine on the carpets of my home from the previous owners dogs, spills, and even pointed out where my boys "aim" when they use the bathroom... Anyway, I originally purchased this to help me find where my cat urinates because I smell it, but I was never able to find it unless it was fresh..... , and now the house smells so clean or at least devoid of cat urine. It's also helped my kids aim better when they go because it's so easy to prove to them that they did not aim as they so claimed... Be sure to get UV glasses, however, because this one is bright and does give you a bit of a headache."

"First, let me just start right off and say that I could find no difference at all in design or function between the: Escolite 51 UV Ultraviolet LED Flashlight and TaoTronics 51 UV LED Flashlight They are the same in every possible way... Do they detect Dog urine stains in your carpet, YES they do!... BUT if you want something small and pocket-sized, the PeeDar does also work... You cannot track or see the path of mice, rats etc with any of these lights, so that claim is weak... PeeDar works but not as well and there is a new PeeDar2 that has more LED lights than the one in this test. PeeDar does appear to have a slightly different UV Spectrum but it did not perform better than the others... They do help a little, but in my opinion, they are not necessary as you will see urine residue just fine without them."

"Once we got the flashlight working I ran around the house looking for "spots" left by the dog... I took it to the bathroom to see the toilet (not her doing but interesting to see what showed). I think I had more enjoyment from this than my mom (her house, her rugs, her dog), The flashlight is made with a sturdy material and not excessively heavy. The light will definitely show pee stains, I think water spots, and possibly cleaner residue on carpet or tile (didn't see any spots of hardwood floors in our experience). I am planning to use this before and after carpet cleaning because this doesn't show age on spots. I am not sure if the light will hurt eyes if there is contact but I didn't point it at the dog or humans... I think someone selling their house/hospitality might even appreciate this."
