"After being on hold for a period of time again, a human being finally answered the phone and she promptly insulted me because she said she thought my voice was "too loud" and at this point without asking me what I wanted to do she informed me she was going to put me back on to the technical support line and proceeded to do just that."

"I'll come back and update the review if/when it dies, or I notice anything else, but in the meantime- My impressions after a few months: It's a flashy classic design that's gotten me complements and I keep looking at it in disbelief that I got it for so cheap compared to the prior watches."

"And to be fair, they probably have a point that if you're going to hew this closely to the Submariner format, it would have been nice if Invicta had tossed in a little design variation just to show some semblance of originality."

"For me this watch is a definite buy for someone who wants to make a statement and is looking for an attention seeking watch beacuse trust me, 10s of people will approach you all the time (especially at my age) It is the nicest watch in this pricepoint but if you are looking for a watch just to tell the time perfectly by the second, then this would not be recomended."

"Two of the SS watches, one being their higher end "Reserve" series are sitting in a box because the supposed "Swiss" movements have stopped working."

"* I've bought two of these two tone blue dial Invicta watches last year as gifts, and I almost kept the last one for myself, even though I have several Omega, Rolex, Victorinox, Luminox, Seiko, and Citizen Diver Watches (and a few micro brands like NTH and Lew & Huey)."

"I own at least a couple dozen watches including some other Invicta models and I have to admit that I feel horrible for neglecting other watches I've recently purchased but I can't bring myself to not wear this beauty."

"I have repeatedly called their tech support number literally for the last eight hours only to have the same scenario happen over and over again: I'll listen to literally what may be the most horrible music I've ever heard in my life for anywhere from 10 minutes to well over an hour until I become the next caller who is supposed to be helped according to the message... After being on hold for a period of time again, a human being finally answered the phone and she promptly insulted me because she said she thought my voice was "too loud" and at this point without asking me what I wanted to do she informed me she was going to put me back on to the technical support line and proceeded to do just that. From that point on I was left on hold another 47 minutes before I was told I was the final caller in the queue once more and before Invicta once more simply hung up the phone on me without me even being able to speak to a person."

"Background (so you can see where I'm coming from): I bought a Seiko Kinetic when those came out in the late 90s, thinking it was a good long-term watch and I wouldn't have the hassle of a battery- that was the whole point... My thoughts on this watch: I'd had a mechanical watch before that was junk, but researching a few and Invicta, it seemed a more solid choice, especially considering the price- about a capacitor replacement on one of the others!... I'll come back and update the review if/when it dies, or I notice anything else, but in the meantime- My impressions after a few months: It's a flashy classic design that's gotten me complements and I keep looking at it in disbelief that I got it for so cheap compared to the prior watches."

"An easy to overlook feature is the quick set date change, which means you don't have to move the hour hand twice around the dial to advance the date... I'm noticing that some of the less favorable Amazon user reviews complain of water infiltration, sometimes with little more than splashing around in shallow water... And to be fair, they probably have a point that if you're going to hew this closely to the Submariner format, it would have been nice if Invicta had tossed in a little design variation just to show some semblance of originality."

"* As a 14 year old who loves to show off, I came across this watch and with about $100 to spend ( 1 day shipping and tax included into that) I decided to purchase this watch... Clasp is nice and gold plating is done nicely Winding and timer feature (manually) Very interesting back of the watch that is transparent so you could see inside This seems a little gimmicky but the glow in the dark feature on this watch is probably the best on any watch... For me this watch is a definite buy for someone who wants to make a statement and is looking for an attention seeking watch beacuse trust me, 10s of people will approach you all the time (especially at my age) It is the nicest watch in this pricepoint but if you are looking for a watch just to tell the time perfectly by the second, then this would not be recomended."

"I have the Swiss version with the ETA 2824-2 movement in it that I purchased over 10 years ago and it's still running great... When my friend received the "Rolex Submariner" Invicta look-alike with a Japanese movement, he was blown away!... Two of the SS watches, one being their higher end "Reserve" series are sitting in a box because the supposed "Swiss" movements have stopped working."

"* I've bought two of these two tone blue dial Invicta watches last year as gifts, and I almost kept the last one for myself, even though I have several Omega, Rolex, Victorinox, Luminox, Seiko, and Citizen Diver Watches (and a few micro brands like NTH and Lew & Huey)... However, there are a few other issues that weren't deal breakers like the lume -- This watch has an intrusive appearing "Invicta" engraved on the side of the case, taking away from the beauty of the polished stainless steel case and making it look cheap... Lastly, when manually winding the watch with the crown, the Seiko NH35 movement feels more grainy than the same movement in some of my other watches, and the threads in the screw-down crown feel very rough when engaging them."

"A few of the reviews here had me worried about things like the gold on the bracelet wearing off quickly, some in days... My eyes, now that I'm getting older, have a really hard time reading the date window on my other watches but this one is a dream and no problem to read... I own at least a couple dozen watches including some other Invicta models and I have to admit that I feel horrible for neglecting other watches I've recently purchased but I can't bring myself to not wear this beauty."

"Basically this watch came out of the box looking like someone had previously tried to force the stem but they shipped it anyway... I have repeatedly called their tech support number literally for the last eight hours only to have the same scenario happen over and over again: I'll listen to literally what may be the most horrible music I've ever heard in my life for anywhere from 10 minutes to well over an hour until I become the next caller who is supposed to be helped according to the message... I was still wanting to get the watch fixed without returning it because I'm pressed for time, but returning the watch was now on my mind as well. After being on hold for a period of time again, a human being finally answered the phone and she promptly insulted me because she said she thought my voice was "too loud" and at this point without asking me what I wanted to do she informed me she was going to put me back on to the technical support line and proceeded to do just that. From that point on I was left on hold another 47 minutes before I was told I was the final caller in the queue once more and before Invicta once more simply hung up the phone on me without me even being able to speak to a person... The one human being I actually got to talk to at the company by choosing a different phone option went out of her way to insult me and then threw me right back into a phone menu where she knew I had already been hung up on over a period of several hours... After dealing with them today, I wouldn't buy toilet paper from them - even my butt deserves better - much less something that is supposed to be of decent quality."

"Background (so you can see where I'm coming from): I bought a Seiko Kinetic when those came out in the late 90s, thinking it was a good long-term watch and I wouldn't have the hassle of a battery- that was the whole point. Then I discovered the capacitor needed replaced after a few years- about as long as a battery would have lasted and far more expensive- costing a decent chunk of another watch... My thoughts on this watch: I'd had a mechanical watch before that was junk, but researching a few and Invicta, it seemed a more solid choice, especially considering the price- about a capacitor replacement on one of the others! I figured I'd roll the dice, and if it lasts a few years, it'll be better than the others, especially considering it's hundreds less, though it certainly looks like a several hundred or even several thousand dollar watch..... I'll come back and update the review if/when it dies, or I notice anything else, but in the meantime- My impressions after a few months: It's a flashy classic design that's gotten me complements and I keep looking at it in disbelief that I got it for so cheap compared to the prior watches... Others have talked at length about the high-quality movement and number of jewels (the guts of this), and that info is impressive and influenced my choice considering I wanted something that would keep decent time and not require a battery... I've noticed some very fine scratches not apparent to a casual observation- you don't see them just looking at the time or even at the band, you have to focus and look."

"About the only thing that prevents it from being an outright counterfeit watch is that Invicta has the decency to put its name on the watch dial as well as engraved on the case... It features manual winding and hacking, both nice upgrades from the entry level Seiko 5 field watch I bought for about the same price... An easy to overlook feature is the quick set date change, which means you don't have to move the hour hand twice around the dial to advance the date... This is a diver's watch and in order to achieve that 200m water resistance rating, the crown stem has internal seals that engage only when the crown is fully screwed down... I'm noticing that some of the less favorable Amazon user reviews complain of water infiltration, sometimes with little more than splashing around in shallow water... If you think that level of user engagement will be too much for you, my advice is twofold: 1) you'll be much happier with a non-diver mechanical watch and 2) don't ever buy a convertible...

Unless you are a 280lb 6''4' lumberjack, there is no way this watch is going to fit you without taking out a few links... I managed to be able to do this at my house withing like 10 minutes but without the proper experience and equiptment, you probably should take it to a professional to adjust... Clasp is nice and gold plating is done nicely Winding and timer feature (manually) Very interesting back of the watch that is transparent so you could see inside This seems a little gimmicky but the glow in the dark feature on this watch is probably the best on any watch... Not a self winding watch so it loses I would say about 20-30 seconds a day not a big deal for me but it might be for some people... I have people approach me from several feet away asking about this watch so if you want to be like a fly on the wall, don't get this...

"I have the Swiss version with the ETA 2824-2 movement in it that I purchased over 10 years ago and it's still running great. I've regulated the watch myself, and for an automatic, it's now accurate to 1/2 second per day!... So, what I did is use Brasso to rub off what ever residue was left of the original surface gold plating and what was left was the gold that had bonded with the SS (ION bonding), to produce a muted rose-gold look... When my friend received the "Rolex Submariner" Invicta look-alike with a Japanese movement, he was blown away!... Two out of the three the gold plating has started to wear out within three months of purchase. Two of the SS watches, one being their higher end "Reserve" series are sitting in a box because the supposed "Swiss" movements have stopped working. Invicta puts out some amazingly good looking watches, but, lets face it, when a Swiss movement (Swiss parts) is assembled in China, something is lost in the translation."

The worst offense was that the luminous markers and hands go dark very soon after exposure to light, and even with an 500 lumen flashlight the dial and hands were totally dark/invisible less than 5 minutes later (in a pitch dark room)... In comparison, a $200 Seiko SKX007 or SKX009 has lume that rivals that of a $4k-$10k Omega or Rolex diver (bright and long lasting), with well respected build quality too (although not as dressy as this watch). However, there are a few other issues that weren't deal breakers like the lume -- This watch has an intrusive appearing "Invicta" engraved on the side of the case, taking away from the beauty of the polished stainless steel case and making it look cheap... Lastly, when manually winding the watch with the crown, the Seiko NH35 movement feels more grainy than the same movement in some of my other watches, and the threads in the screw-down crown feel very rough when engaging them... On a small budget this watch would be hard to beat on looks alone, and if this watch had the same quality as the ones that I previously bought I'd be happy, but having non-functional lume on this watch was unacceptable... If you can stretch your budget a little more I'd consider those, unless you specifically need the two tone look and don't need to tell the time in the dark (or on a dive)."

"A few of the reviews here had me worried about things like the gold on the bracelet wearing off quickly, some in days. I've worn mine non-stop except when I shower and the bracelet still looks like new... The automatic workings have proven incredibly accurate and have kept within a second or two over the last week... The bracelet is comfortable and easy to remove the links yourself... My eyes, now that I'm getting older, have a really hard time reading the date window on my other watches but this one is a dream and no problem to read... I own at least a couple dozen watches including some other Invicta models and I have to admit that I feel horrible for neglecting other watches I've recently purchased but I can't bring myself to not wear this beauty. In time I suppose the sizzle will lessen and I will add some of my other watches into my daily wear rotation but for now I'm simply in love with this watch."
