"For more stubborn pieces you can always take your mat outside to shake it, but sometimes I don't feel like carrying my mat downstairs and out into the cold.""I did email them to ask what their warranty policy was if my scratching cat ruined this mat (since it says No questions asked ) and they responded the same day saying that they would replace my mat for any reason, even if it was my cats fault (that s pretty amazing)."
"I don't know if it wicked to the sides and then underneath or straight through to be honest, but the bad part is that since its rubber once the wetness is underneath it can't evaporate to dry so it sits there until you find it."
"The good things about this mat are that it seems to trap litter fairly well, it doesn't slide on hardwood floors, and it's very flexible which is a must because my litter box is in an oddly-sized open closet (I have to fold the corners under, but it is better than getting the smaller size and having the closet floor not totally covered)."
"Only reason for 4 stars is the exceedingly strong and unpleasant smell when pulled out of the box, so strong that neither cat would go near it for several days and I actually was nauseated myself from it after a while."
"I'll probably be ordering a second one, because one of my cats sometimes likes to dive out of his litter box, thereby, not stepping onto the mat at all."
"Got two litter boxes, the only viable place for them was near the walkway to the back door (which goes out to the pool), where we were CONSTANTLY walking on/sweeping up litter, I have a near phobia of walking on it, and it made going out to the pool a production and problem (especially in bare feet--yick)."

Quick
"I have a little trick for cleaning my mat: For a quick clean, vacuuming is the quickest and most effective way to clean it and this is good to do every few days. For more stubborn pieces you can always take your mat outside to shake it, but sometimes I don't feel like carrying my mat downstairs and out into the cold... You will see that most pieces will come out and you can now either just throw out the dirty garbage bag or allow the litter to fall to the bottom and use it for garbage.""* I love my two cats, but I hate the kitty litter that gets tracked all over my house... Plus, the Gorilla Grip company that makes this mat really seems to care about its customers, offering a 10-year warranty. I did email them to ask what their warranty policy was if my scratching cat ruined this mat (since it says No questions asked ) and they responded the same day saying that they would replace my mat for any reason, even if it was my cats fault (that s pretty amazing)."
"she actually gets in the litterbox but then just does her business as soon as all 4 legs are inside instead of her butt as well... it was SATURATED underneath and had soaked through to the wood floors (which are pretty much trashed in that area now). I don't know if it wicked to the sides and then underneath or straight through to be honest, but the bad part is that since its rubber once the wetness is underneath it can't evaporate to dry so it sits there until you find it."
"* I have only ever had this type of litter mat with my 2 cats, so I don't have others to compare it to, but I'm not a fan of the design. The good things about this mat are that it seems to trap litter fairly well, it doesn't slide on hardwood floors, and it's very flexible which is a must because my litter box is in an oddly-sized open closet (I have to fold the corners under, but it is better than getting the smaller size and having the closet floor not totally covered)... I have ruined a handheld vacuum from vacuuming this every couple days - and there is literally no other way to clean it."
"Only reason for 4 stars is the exceedingly strong and unpleasant smell when pulled out of the box, so strong that neither cat would go near it for several days and I actually was nauseated myself from it after a while. In fairness, their instructions do say to let the thing air out for a day before using, so I would just recommend letting it air out *outside*, rather than inside a small apartment, if you're sensitive to chemicals or strong smells... However, it's been over a week now and the smell is totally gone, no complaints so far as to function and quality."
"I have two cats and two litter boxes that are sort of facing each other... You will DEFINTELY need to air it out, before placing it anywhere near your cats... I'll probably be ordering a second one, because one of my cats sometimes likes to dive out of his litter box, thereby, not stepping onto the mat at all."
"Got two litter boxes, the only viable place for them was near the walkway to the back door (which goes out to the pool), where we were CONSTANTLY walking on/sweeping up litter, I have a near phobia of walking on it, and it made going out to the pool a production and problem (especially in bare feet--yick). Bought mat based on reviews, had to set one box at the top, other one on the side, and my backdoor is not a disgusting litterbox wasteland anymore. Mat isn't magic (like Aladdin's carpet), a small amount of litter will wind up on the floor, but we're sweeping on average two-three times a week, as opposed to two-three times a day--and we're not having to chase it down into the kitchen, into the nearby spare bedroom, etc."

"It does a great job of catching the litter my kitty kicks out of her box and walks out on her paws. I actually can't believe how much was getting out of her box. I have a little trick for cleaning my mat: For a quick clean, vacuuming is the quickest and most effective way to clean it and this is good to do every few days. For more stubborn pieces you can always take your mat outside to shake it, but sometimes I don't feel like carrying my mat downstairs and out into the cold... You will see that most pieces will come out and you can now either just throw out the dirty garbage bag or allow the litter to fall to the bottom and use it for garbage... When that happens, the best way to clean the mat it is with water and soap to get the cat pee smell out... I can highly recommend this mat because it is all around top notch quality and I love this brand.""* I love my two cats, but I hate the kitty litter that gets tracked all over my house... I have been through a few mats of varying quality over the years - one of my cats is a scratcher, so I have been through quite a few. I had seen this brand of mat in one of the big stores for almost twice the cost, so I was happy to find it on Amazon for such a good price... The scratcher also happens to be a kicker and this mat really does a nice job of catching all the litter... I just use a small vacuum about once a week and it cleans up perfectly.
"Which honestly doesn't surprise me as any of these mats work the same way... she actually gets in the litterbox but then just does her business as soon as all 4 legs are inside instead of her butt as well. Anyways, I noticed a faint urine smell but the mat was dry and I couldn't find anything that looked wet... it was SATURATED underneath and had soaked through to the wood floors (which are pretty much trashed in that area now). I don't know if it wicked to the sides and then underneath or straight through to be honest, but the bad part is that since its rubber once the wetness is underneath it can't evaporate to dry so it sits there until you find it. This is not the first mat I've used nor am I a novice cat owner. But will never use this product again for that reason -- at least the others were cheap enough that the urine would at least dry underneath."

It traps litter, cat poop, urine and smells FOREVER. I have ruined a handheld vacuum from vacuuming this every couple days - and there is literally no other way to clean it. I have taken it outside and beaten it for about 10 min over the porch railing, but afterward there is STILL litter trapped inside. One of my cats threw up on the mat once - I "cleaned" it with Nature's Miracle, but to this day (months later) I still smell it and find crusty bits every once in awhile... I'm going to look for something that allows me to actually sweep the litter off the mat, something more like a boot tray."
"* Quality mat with a lifetime guarantee emailed to me a few days post-purchase. It's done an excellent job of trapping litter so far and the cats appear to enjoy it. They do appear to like trying to sharpen their claws in it also, lol, but perhaps that's testament to how comfortable it is! I was impressed with the amount of padding in it, and I'm pleased overall with the color selection and the non-skid factor on my flooring. Only reason for 4 stars is the exceedingly strong and unpleasant smell when pulled out of the box, so strong that neither cat would go near it for several days and I actually was nauseated myself from it after a while. "I have two cats and two litter boxes that are sort of facing each other. I placed the Gorilla Grip mat between both of them, so that the cats are obligated to step onto the mat... It really does "grab" most of the litter, so I do need to vacuum the mat every few days... You will DEFINTELY need to air it out, before placing it anywhere near your cats. I put it out on my balcony for a couple of days, before bringing it in , and that seemed to do the trick. I'll probably be ordering a second one, because one of my cats sometimes likes to dive out of his litter box, thereby, not stepping onto the mat at all. If I get another one, he'll land on it everytime!"
