Brother Genuine High Yield Toner Cartridge, TN660, Replacement Black Toner, Page Yield Up To 2,600 Pages, Amazon Dash Replenishment Cartridge

Very Quick

"I purchased this Brother genuine toner cartridge because Brother's tech support person told me to use only GENUINE Brother cartridge after the original cartridge that was shipped with the printer lasted for less than 150 pages of light density printing."

"They tell me you will only get close to the 2600 pages per cartridge if your coverage rate is 5% or less, meaning that on average, only 5% of each page will be printed on (meaning there's toner on 5% or less of a printed page)."

"I escalated this to a supervisor who eventually called and told me how to reset the error message so the printer thinks that a new cartridge has been installed."

"* Pros: Great print quality Fast and effective if you are a student on the go Very affordable Only black and white means you don't have to worry about pesky color cartridges dying out Cons: (about the printer mainly) Printer needs to be in a good spot for wifi connection, otherwise you have to restart it to reconnect and wake it from its "deep sleep" mode."

"I thought using the high yield toner would get me through a whole calendar year but just this month (March), the low toner has emerged."

"I finally decided to change it today after getting tired of seeing the "replace toner" message (That starter toner lasted a real long time) only to find out that it doesn't fit."

"The drum assembly is also an end user replaceable part but it cost more than what I paid for the printer so when the drum assembly needed to be replaced, it will be cheaper to buy another printer and start all over."

"For Brother 2700 printer, Drum is exposed and is separate from toner cartridge; this design results in any carbon to fall out of toner cartridge and fall outside to the paper beneath, because the drum & toner bank is NOT sealed; Canon, Samsung, HP & all others use a "sealed one cartridge" to prevent this kind of problem... I purchased this Brother genuine toner cartridge because Brother's tech support person told me to use only GENUINE Brother cartridge after the original cartridge that was shipped with the printer lasted for less than 150 pages of light density printing. To anyone thinking about buying Brother laser printer, I would suggest "BEWARE", and know what you will be getting into......."

"I've spent time working with Brother on the issue, but I still think the rating is deceptive even if it is an "ISO spec", because there's no "fine print" anywhere to explain what that ISO spec really means. I love my Brother MFC-L2740DW and am still pleased with that purchase, however, I'm only getting about 70% of the 2600 page rating out of this product... They tell me you will only get close to the 2600 pages per cartridge if your coverage rate is 5% or less, meaning that on average, only 5% of each page will be printed on (meaning there's toner on 5% or less of a printed page)."

"Their DCP-L2540DW printer now forces you to replace the toner when the cartridge is printing perfectly clear sharp pages... No other printer I have owned or used before this has ever shut down because it "thinks" the toner needs replacing. I escalated this to a supervisor who eventually called and told me how to reset the error message so the printer thinks that a new cartridge has been installed."

UPDATE: I just recently changed the toner cartridge and have been amazed at how long it lasted! I am a grad student in business school, which means I print almost 20-30 pages per class, plus I have reports that I print out that are roughly 30-50 pages each."

"I thought using the high yield toner would get me through a whole calendar year but just this month (March), the low toner has emerged. Brother states 2600 pages can be printed but I have probably and (generously) printed 1000 pages of normal school type pages (tests, classwork, quizzes)... If you have to buy, know that it will not even come close to the 2600 yield."

"* I bought this back in October 2016 so I would have a new cartridge ready for my HL-L2360DW when the toner it came with ran out. I finally decided to change it today after getting tired of seeing the "replace toner" message (That starter toner lasted a real long time) only to find out that it doesn't fit... The new one has a white wheel that looks like it should spin with something inside the printer, while the old cartridge doesn't have that piece."

"* I purchased a Brother HL-L2340dw monochrome laser printer months ago and the original toner cartridge ran out. I ordered the "High Yield Toner" cartridges and it should last more than a year... The drum assembly is also an end user replaceable part but it cost more than what I paid for the printer so when the drum assembly needed to be replaced, it will be cheaper to buy another printer and start all over."

"Brother's Tech support is awful: waiting/spending 2~3 hrs on the phone, and yet, not being able to resolve the problem; afterwards, I was promised that "more knowledgeable advanced tech support person" would contact me later, but such a person never calls. When I called back the next day, they LIE, and told me that they tried calling me twice to my mobile phone, and that my mobile phone was busy (completely lie, again)... I have been very disappointed with Brother MFC L2700 laser printer, Brother's Tech support, and Brother's toner cartridge unit. For Brother 2700 printer, Drum is exposed and is separate from toner cartridge; this design results in any carbon to fall out of toner cartridge and fall outside to the paper beneath, because the drum & toner bank is NOT sealed; Canon, Samsung, HP & all others use a "sealed one cartridge" to prevent this kind of problem. I was NOT told about this when I bought the Brother printer, and it is too BIG to return..... "* I'm not impressed with the toner life on this product based on the 2600 page rating it advertises. I've spent time working with Brother on the issue, but I still think the rating is deceptive even if it is an "ISO spec", because there's no "fine print" anywhere to explain what that ISO spec really means. I love my Brother MFC-L2740DW and am still pleased with that purchase, however, I'm only getting about 70% of the 2600 page rating out of this product. This is because of the "coverage rate" used to estimate the 2600 page rating. They tell me you will only get close to the 2600 pages per cartridge if your coverage rate is 5% or less, meaning that on average, only 5% of each page will be printed on (meaning there's toner on 5% or less of a printed page)... My recommendation to other buyers is to be aware and to use draft quality for anything for which print quality is not important. I've killed two printers using non-manufacturer-made toner/ink, so will definitely stay with a Brother product but am not happy at feeling deceived."

"Their DCP-L2540DW printer now forces you to replace the toner when the cartridge is printing perfectly clear sharp pages. This isn't just an error message but the printer literally stops printing (mid run) until you replace it. I learned to "fake" it out by putting a new cartridge in, let it print one page then take that out and put the "empty" cartridge back in for several weeks worth of clear printing. When I called their customer support to find out how to disable the "toner empty" lock-out, I was told it was impossible to over-ride the lock out feature... It should be the consumer who decides when the print quality is too pale and not the company selling the toner! No other printer I have owned or used before this has ever shut down because it "thinks" the toner needs replacing. I escalated this to a supervisor who eventually called and told me how to reset the error message so the printer thinks that a new cartridge has been installed."

"* Pros: Great print quality Fast and effective if you are a student on the go Very affordable Only black and white means you don't have to worry about pesky color cartridges dying out Cons: (about the printer mainly) Printer needs to be in a good spot for wifi connection, otherwise you have to restart it to reconnect and wake it from its "deep sleep" mode. Printer does emit a decent amount of heat so if you are keeping it in your bedroom with a computer and tv, make sure your AC runs well. UPDATE: I just recently changed the toner cartridge and have been amazed at how long it lasted! I am a grad student in business school, which means I print almost 20-30 pages per class, plus I have reports that I print out that are roughly 30-50 pages each... For the value, if you print only black and white, this is the way to go. I had a deskjet printer prior and was changing ink cartridges every other week (no exaggeration)... Last much much longer than inkjet printers."

"* I bought this back in September and I print casually, nothing heavy or dark. I thought using the high yield toner would get me through a whole calendar year but just this month (March), the low toner has emerged. Brother states 2600 pages can be printed but I have probably and (generously) printed 1000 pages of normal school type pages (tests, classwork, quizzes). Very few images were even printed and it lasted about 7 months. I cannot recommend it based on the poor performance of the ink. I would go the cheap route but my last laser printer was ruined by a "no name" brand exploding inside of it. If you have to buy, know that it will not even come close to the 2600 yield."

"* I bought this back in October 2016 so I would have a new cartridge ready for my HL-L2360DW when the toner it came with ran out. I finally decided to change it today after getting tired of seeing the "replace toner" message (That starter toner lasted a real long time) only to find out that it doesn't fit. The cartridge goes into the printer properly, but when I close the cover and printer starts warming up, I hear a loud clicking noise, and the outer panel on the printer's left side starts moving in and out... The new one has a white wheel that looks like it should spin with something inside the printer, while the old cartridge doesn't have that piece. It looks like if I unscrew the side panel from the old toner and put it on the new one, it should work, but this is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to perform surgery on a toner cartridge to make it work with a printer that it is supposed to be compatible with. And now since more than a year has passed since I bought it, I can't return it."

"* I purchased a Brother HL-L2340dw monochrome laser printer months ago and the original toner cartridge ran out. I ordered the "High Yield Toner" cartridges and it should last more than a year. The printer does 2-sided printing which really saves on paper and the bulk and weight of the papers I print... The toner cartridge was easy to install. The instructions were pictures/drawings on a page that came in the toner box... The drum assembly is also an end user replaceable part but it cost more than what I paid for the printer so when the drum assembly needed to be replaced, it will be cheaper to buy another printer and start all over. Very pleased with Amazon's pricing."
