"I can only assume that Logitech has some sort of kick-back deal with Personify to use their "technology" but I feel like I've been swindled by Logitech seeing how this software could potentially be used with numerous other cameras if it wasn't locked down by the company.""* I'm puzzled when I read the negative reviews, about this camera not working with [x]; this is my 3rd Logitech camera, and I've never had a problem getting them to work when I've reviewed the system requirements and made sure I was on a compatible machine running appropriate software."
"I followed all the steps listed, even though most of them are for Windows XP and 7 which not many people use anymore, and the problem still persisted even though the troubleshooting steps were followed which should mean the mic should work."
"Turns out that you get a warning every single time you open any software with this camera that you don't have proper drivers."
"Overall, I will say it works well right out of the box and the quality is as good or as better as what you would expect for a camera in this price range and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent webcam without breaking the bank."
"Here's what I found: When I plugged the C922 into my Win7x64 box (the box says it supports Win7), the system recognized the C922 immediately by name, but when I opened my Logitech Webcam Software (LWS), which I've used with every other Logitech webcam I've had, LWS threw an error message saying the C922 drivers were not installed, and the system was using the default Microsoft device drivers."
"*As a tip for recording with audio on this, if you have good editing software like Vegas Pro 14 or whatever you can record the face cam, then add it to your editing software and use Audacity to record the MUCH cleaner audio and sync the audio from your source microphone (I have the Blue Yeti) to the audio from this camera and once you ve got it how you like, just mute the camera s audio and you have a perfectly synced video with very clean audio* If my c920 broke tomorrow (due to dropping or crushing somehow, etc."

"It advertises two huge upgradesare the ability to record 60FPS (only in 720p) and it has "Background replacement technology" (more on both below) The BAD: -In most of my test recordings, the 60FPS 720p videos look considerably worse than the 30FPS 1080p... I bought it in October 2016, to replace another Logitech camera; the cord connected to the back of the camera had frayed over time as a natural consequence of adjusting the angle over and over, making the older camera only work sporadically, and I fully expected something of that nature to happen to any camera I purchased... And while we now have Ultra HD/4K cameras and better, this 1080p is still respectable quality; it's not like the old "high def" TV a friend of mine has that's 12 years old but whose picture now looks grainy and not at all impressive compared to other newer TVs."

I was a little annoyed they told me to follow their troubleshooting steps again but i expected this response since it generally fixes most peoples problems since they don't usually try to fix things themselves... what really made me mad is that they clearly didn't even read my previous messages because they just sent me the troubleshooting steps typed out for me instead of putting a link to them!"
"Turns out that you get a warning every single time you open any software with this camera that you don't have proper drivers... It will occasionally not show up whatsover in Logitech Webcam Software settings and then mysteriously appear upon opening and closing the program several times... This camera has so many widespread issues that are well-known that are not being addressed, and it is false advertising to tell consumers that it has a set of specs that it clearly does not."

I should also note that the Logitech Webcam Settings is for accessing "Logitech webcam-specific settings such as zoom, focus and image controls on the C922 Pro Stream Webcam"... So here's the bottom line: Logitech put out a new expensive webcam that does not work on Windows 7 with the Logitech software it uses for all other webcams (LWS)."
"Next let s talk about how it performs, the resolution is very clear (1080p) and there is hardly any lag between for example; moving my hand in front of the camera is very responsive when played back since it transfers my actions to the screen almost immediately... "It advertises two huge upgradesare the ability to record 60FPS (only in 720p) and it has "Background replacement technology" (more on both below) The BAD: -In most of my test recordings, the 60FPS 720p videos look considerably worse than the 30FPS 1080p... I am not a video professional but I'm experienced enough in this field to determine that this camera is not worth the upgrade if 60FPS is your only reason to buy it... I can only assume that Logitech has some sort of kick-back deal with Personify to use their "technology" but I feel like I've been swindled by Logitech seeing how this software could potentially be used with numerous other cameras if it wasn't locked down by the company... That's right, the Logitech Webcam Software that millions of people have used for years with every other Logitech webcam (including the c920) does not work with this camera, nor do they offer an alternative. They simply give you drivers and then you are on your own to find a 3rd party application to actually use the camera... One more thing: You cannot easily connect 2 of these cameras on the same PC without lots of constant tweaking. OBS, xSplit, and other applications with see both cameras but adjusting the settings requires you to unplug them one-by-one and change settings as you plug them back in.""* I'm puzzled when I read the negative reviews, about this camera not working with [x]; this is my 3rd Logitech camera, and I've never had a problem getting them to work when I've reviewed the system requirements and made sure I was on a compatible machine running appropriate software... What's really blown me away is that it's also just as impressive now as it was almost two years ago, when I first started using it. I bought it in October 2016, to replace another Logitech camera; the cord connected to the back of the camera had frayed over time as a natural consequence of adjusting the angle over and over, making the older camera only work sporadically, and I fully expected something of that nature to happen to any camera I purchased... I've used a projector as a monitor for my Mac Mini and broadcast the video from this camera onto a relatively big screen (bigger than any TV I've seen) and the picture quality is still impressive... So yeah, take the time to look at the system requirements, and make sure you're using a Mac running the stated minimum version of MacOS (or better), or a PC running the stated minimum version of Windows (or better), and your processor is fast enough and you've got enough room on your hard drive and all that, before you buy it. If you're planning to use it for a specific app, perhaps you should check with that app's developers to be sure that it's compatible with it, but I can vouch for Mac versions of Skype, Zoom, ezTalks, and of course FaceTime and Photo Booth, as well as browser plugins for Firefox, Safari, Vivaldi and Opera: it works with all of them."
"The old one worked fine till it one day stopped recording sound from the mic which led me to purchase this one hoping the issue would be resolved because of its age... I followed all the steps listed, even though most of them are for Windows XP and 7 which not many people use anymore, and the problem still persisted even though the troubleshooting steps were followed which should mean the mic should work... they responded a week later and sent me the troubleshooting steps (which I just did and told them in the previous email) asked for my serial number, operating system and when the issue started and then said they closed my case and should contact them again if the problem persists. I was a little annoyed they told me to follow their troubleshooting steps again but i expected this response since it generally fixes most peoples problems since they don't usually try to fix things themselves. So I contacted them again giving them all the information they asked for in the first email and said the troubleshooting said everything should be fine even though I'm not picking up any audio still... what really made me mad is that they clearly didn't even read my previous messages because they just sent me the troubleshooting steps typed out for me instead of putting a link to them!... I will update this based on my phone call with them tomorrow and their willingness to help an listen to my problem without just throwing the troubleshooting steps back at me again and closing my case once again."
"I bought the upgraded model as I've started streaming on Twitch and wanted to provide viewers better video quality, as well as get better video quality for my YouTube channel... Turns out that you get a warning every single time you open any software with this camera that you don't have proper drivers... Microphone is so over sensitive, it sounds as though it's completely blown out unless you turn it WAY down, and even then it's bad... It will occasionally not show up whatsover in Logitech Webcam Software settings and then mysteriously appear upon opening and closing the program several times... Chroma Cam doesn't work: If you're getting this expecting the green screen feature to work, guess what?... In my many attempts to figure out what I might be doing wrong, the one thing I kept seeing was people attributing the bad camera to the user's lack of computer power... This camera has so many widespread issues that are well-known that are not being addressed, and it is false advertising to tell consumers that it has a set of specs that it clearly does not."

(The camera does not come with any software but it can easily be downloaded from Logitech's website... Autofocus seems to have a bit of latency in response, but I used fixed focus most of the time since I use the camera primarily for video chatting with family and sit at a more or less fixed distance... Although the auto white balance seems to lean towards the blue side, it can be turned off and manually adjusted towards "warmer" colors. Video recording was smooth, but does not quite have the sharpness you would expect at true HD1920 x 1080 when viewing the recorded video at full screen, so not sure if it is actually true HD or again just interpolated... Overall, I will say it works well right out of the box and the quality is as good or as better as what you would expect for a camera in this price range and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent webcam without breaking the bank."

On the Logitech web site, when you search for Windows 7 software for the C922, you find: Logitech Gaming Software, ChromaCam, and Logitech Webcam Settings... I should also note that the Logitech Webcam Settings is for accessing "Logitech webcam-specific settings such as zoom, focus and image controls on the C922 Pro Stream Webcam". That's what the LWS is for, and a clear indicator that it won't work with LWS (please, just state this directly in your advertisement!... So here's the bottom line: Logitech put out a new expensive webcam that does not work on Windows 7 with the Logitech software it uses for all other webcams (LWS)... I bought TWO of these C922s because I've always had very good luck with Logitech cameras."
"I watched the video and this camera caught my eye, so with only that much info I bought it and it came in about a weeks time... The built in clip it uses to mount to your monitor is very nice and I m sure as long as you don t have a 90 s cathode monitor I d say it will definitely mount on any screen you have. Next let s talk about how it performs, the resolution is very clear (1080p) and there is hardly any lag between for example; moving my hand in front of the camera is very responsive when played back since it transfers my actions to the screen almost immediately... It also comes with a program to run it and I guess it could be useful but I d swap to OBS or something where you have a lot more choices with user customization. The only thing this guy struggles with is audio, for the love of god please don t use this camera s microphone to record or stream with because it picks up everything. It ll hear the AC on low behind your grammas closed bedroom door and make it sound like a 747 is taxing to the runway which happens to be three feet from your house... *As a tip for recording with audio on this, if you have good editing software like Vegas Pro 14 or whatever you can record the face cam, then add it to your editing software and use Audacity to record the MUCH cleaner audio and sync the audio from your source microphone (I have the Blue Yeti) to the audio from this camera and once you ve got it how you like, just mute the camera s audio and you have a perfectly synced video with very clean audio* If my c920 broke tomorrow (due to dropping or crushing somehow, etc."
