Reef Men's Phantoms Thong Sandal

Very Quick

"That said, I don't find myself having to curl or clench my toes to hold them from falling off when walking, so they are still comfortable enough."

"These sandals were made very well, all parts of the sandal stayed together (nothing separated or disconnected prior to the four years) and you can tell they got a TON of use by looking at them, and seeing all the wear and tear I put them through."

"However, after forming to your foot, it might feel softer/squishier, but it is not, it is still just as hard to the touch, but forming to your foot has spread out the pressure/force from your foot into the sandal."

"Lastly, I leave you with this thought: these sandals are so awesome, my wife stole them from me for herself at every opportunity she could during our trip!"

"I just use them for a quick trip outside to grab the paper or take the trash out, and not all-day, everyday like a lot of people do."

"These are almost weightless, period, yet worn all day EVERY day last me a couple years."

"At first these horribly rubbed against the top of my foot after about 5 mins of walking and I got nasty blisters preventing me from wearing them for a week."

Quick

"That said, I don't find myself having to curl or clench my toes to hold them from falling off when walking, so they are still comfortable enough. For more background on my decision in these, read on: I have had several sandals and flip-flops in the past years, and I am always trying to find something that is a good value... They have great arch support and hold up after hours of wear without your feet feeling fatigued."

"They've gotten to imprint my feet after some time, but never have I thought these sandals to be uncomfortable in any way... These sandals were made very well, all parts of the sandal stayed together (nothing separated or disconnected prior to the four years) and you can tell they got a TON of use by looking at them, and seeing all the wear and tear I put them through... I like them because they are simple, VERY comfortable for sandals (and thong sandals at that, I've never gotten a blister or any foot pain due to them!"

"These have had about 7 months to break-in at this point, with normal wear, and they are still not as comfortable as my old Quicksilvers... However, after forming to your foot, it might feel softer/squishier, but it is not, it is still just as hard to the touch, but forming to your foot has spread out the pressure/force from your foot into the sandal... They certainly don't feel like the best flip-flops I've ever worn, which is what all of my friends were saying about Reef."

"I had heard all the rave reviews for REEF shoes and I needed a new pair of wet/dry sandals so I found a pair within my budget with great reviews... Very solid quality construction, but also the most comfortable and supportive sandals I've ever had too... Lastly, I leave you with this thought: these sandals are so awesome, my wife stole them from me for herself at every opportunity she could during our trip!"

"I have never really worn sandals/flip-flops/thongs very often. I just use them for a quick trip outside to grab the paper or take the trash out, and not all-day, everyday like a lot of people do... I thought I had a comfortable pair of sandals, but these are like walking on clouds."

"These are almost weightless, period, yet worn all day EVERY day last me a couple years... -3-I am now badly disabled and it is hard to even lift my left foot so the fact these feel like being barefoot helps keep me Mobile and not tire out... I would just say they offer "light" arch support but enough to not cause me any discomfort or any sort of problems whatsoever."

"At first these horribly rubbed against the top of my foot after about 5 mins of walking and I got nasty blisters preventing me from wearing them for a week. It's possible it's the shape of my feet, but the top strap was very rough (not noticeable really until you walk in them), so I had to use a file to smooth them up... Not as thick as some other reefs, but comfy and a bit more sturdy and thinner which would be good for wearing on the beach or walking on rocks for very light hikes."

Less Quick

"Some people reported the color coming off on their foot at first use, but I have not had any problems with that... These have done a great job at that, and I use them around pools, in rain, and near water whenever I feel like it without worry... That said, I don't find myself having to curl or clench my toes to hold them from falling off when walking, so they are still comfortable enough. For more background on my decision in these, read on: I have had several sandals and flip-flops in the past years, and I am always trying to find something that is a good value. I had some cheap thong-style flip-flops from JC Penny, most recently, as I had given up on other, more expensive ones that I purchased from places like Sketchers or Dockers... They have great arch support and hold up after hours of wear without your feet feeling fatigued... The Phantoms, though, seem to be a good value flip-flop that provides enough support and comfort, with a solid design to hold up to stress and water, which I think an every-day use flip-flop should."

"So I've completely deleted my old review of this sandal, and I'm redoing it now, four years later after I originally purchased (originally purchased in 2010)... These sandals have been through A LOT, I mean walking on the beach, boardwalk, down the street, around the house, through the woods... They've gotten to imprint my feet after some time, but never have I thought these sandals to be uncomfortable in any way. They lasted FOUR YEARS of solid use and the only reason I had to throw them out is because the right sandal's thong finally pulled out. These sandals were made very well, all parts of the sandal stayed together (nothing separated or disconnected prior to the four years) and you can tell they got a TON of use by looking at them, and seeing all the wear and tear I put them through... I like them because they are simple, VERY comfortable for sandals (and thong sandals at that, I've never gotten a blister or any foot pain due to them!... These don't have the bottle opener, but that's not important and no self respecting guy is going to open a bottle with his foot."

"I already have a super comfortable pair of Quicksilver flip-flops which I really like, so I figured these would be even more comfortable... These have had about 7 months to break-in at this point, with normal wear, and they are still not as comfortable as my old Quicksilvers... However, after forming to your foot, it might feel softer/squishier, but it is not, it is still just as hard to the touch, but forming to your foot has spread out the pressure/force from your foot into the sandal... The actual strap feels rough on the top of the foot, and this is due to the "honeycomb" style design on the bottom of the strap, where it contacts your foot. I will admit this makes the sandal harder to slide off unintentionally, but the feel against the skin is a bit rough for what I was expecting. All-in-all these feel like just a normal pair of cheapish flip-flops you'd buy at Walmart without really looking. They certainly don't feel like the best flip-flops I've ever worn, which is what all of my friends were saying about Reef."

"I had heard all the rave reviews for REEF shoes and I needed a new pair of wet/dry sandals so I found a pair within my budget with great reviews. I can honestly say all the rave reviews are there for a reason. These are hands down the best sandals I've ever owned. Very solid quality construction, but also the most comfortable and supportive sandals I've ever had too. Usually I can only wear sandals for a few hours before my feet start to hurt... They even feel like they have arch support built in!... Lastly, I leave you with this thought: these sandals are so awesome, my wife stole them from me for herself at every opportunity she could during our trip!"

"I have never really worn sandals/flip-flops/thongs very often. I just use them for a quick trip outside to grab the paper or take the trash out, and not all-day, everyday like a lot of people do. We do, however, spend a week at the beach every year, and there my sandals do get a lot more use... Fit was true to size, and probably very close in width and length to an athletic shoe of the same size... I thought I had a comfortable pair of sandals, but these are like walking on clouds. It's the difference between "these don't hurt my feet" and "these feel so good to walk around in"... It probably wouldn't be as big of a deal if I didn't have all of that sand in the bottom of my suitcase!"

"I have not worn shoes in over 40+ years and I LIVE in this particular pair... These are almost weightless, period, yet worn all day EVERY day last me a couple years... -2-Durability- I only replace these if my Camelizer App alerts tell me they went on sale in a new color I want:-) These things just live forever. -3-I am now badly disabled and it is hard to even lift my left foot so the fact these feel like being barefoot helps keep me Mobile and not tire out... But if you want light & lazy, cheap and comfortable, this is the one for all day every day use... As a result I buy this version as well as all my other REEF sandals in size 11 and they fit me just fine... I would just say they offer "light" arch support but enough to not cause me any discomfort or any sort of problems whatsoever."

"I finally wore them out and needed a new pair, so I thought I'd try something different. At first these horribly rubbed against the top of my foot after about 5 mins of walking and I got nasty blisters preventing me from wearing them for a week. It's possible it's the shape of my feet, but the top strap was very rough (not noticeable really until you walk in them), so I had to use a file to smooth them up. They're still not great, but I can at least walk in them now... Not as thick as some other reefs, but comfy and a bit more sturdy and thinner which would be good for wearing on the beach or walking on rocks for very light hikes. I don't think they come in half sizes, so buy a size up if you're a half size, not down or they'll be too small. I read other reviews that talked about that and I'm glad I took the advice."
