New Balance Men's MX623v2 Cross-Training Shoe

Very Quick

"The pairs I returned had a rounded feel while these new ones have more of an edge so by end of day it feels like its rubbing on the side of the foot."

"It saddens me that a good American brand like this has fallen so low, but frankly this new New Balance shoes belong in a discount store..."

"I can say for sure that the New Balance Men's MX623v2 Cross-Training Shoe is much, much tighter in the "toe-box" area, and the length is also much shorter, than my old pair, which fit perfectly out of the box."

"I just bought another pair of New Balance shoes, but stayed away from this year's version of the 623."

"I have bought New Balance shoes for years, typically the most comfortable shoes I have been able to find, but also because I have large feet with a very high instep and need 14EEEE and getting that size is difficult even online and impossible locally."

"I pretty much only wear New Balance shoes, because they are one of the few shoe makers to make size 16 shoes that I need."

"Shoe size I received was way too small and too narrow at the toe area."

Quick

"At present I am trying the white in 4E and the even though the width is better, I now noticed a difference in how it was produced I the back of the shoe with the padding at the top. The pairs I returned had a rounded feel while these new ones have more of an edge so by end of day it feels like its rubbing on the side of the foot... They were all very nice but to be on the phone that long just to get a return authorized or corrected is bit a poor cust service."

"Over the last three months the soles began to peel away and I glued them twice before finally tripping over them... These shoes are very shallow giving my feet the feeling they were riding on top of a shoe rather than being enclosed in it... It saddens me that a good American brand like this has fallen so low, but frankly this new New Balance shoes belong in a discount store..."

"I bought these shoes as my old, American-made New Balance cross trainers were wearing out after 6 years of use... I can say for sure that the New Balance Men's MX623v2 Cross-Training Shoe is much, much tighter in the "toe-box" area, and the length is also much shorter, than my old pair, which fit perfectly out of the box... ) If I had known that they'd be this tight, then I would have ordered an 11 W, a full size larger than what I normally wear."

"I just bought another pair of New Balance shoes, but stayed away from this year's version of the 623... I might have purchased another set anyway--what difference does it make if they last two years, or just eighteen months?... When I was shopping to buy these shoes, my local sporting goods store took three full weeks to order them--and then didn't come through."

"I have bought New Balance shoes for years, typically the most comfortable shoes I have been able to find, but also because I have large feet with a very high instep and need 14EEEE and getting that size is difficult even online and impossible locally. I could even go for 5E if they were available, but these are still comfortable, especially after broken in, which takes about a month to get them really comfortable... I still have the first pair and they are still in excellent shape after wearing them all day every day for almost a year."

"But as someone who has a mild case of plantar fasciatis, I had to take out the original NB flat insole and replace them with Pinnacle Powerstep insoles... I pretty much only wear New Balance shoes, because they are one of the few shoe makers to make size 16 shoes that I need... So whatever width you normally are, I'd order up one or two larger widths for these shoes, unless you want a really tight fit."

"I ordered the same exact shoe that I'm currently wearing. Shoe size I received was way too small and too narrow at the toe area. My original shoe lasted 3 years so far, but the shoe sole became unglued."

Less Quick

"last pair bought about 3 years ago and I needed a new pair... All the retail store personnel told me that its what people are buying now so that's what they carry... At present I am trying the white in 4E and the even though the width is better, I now noticed a difference in how it was produced I the back of the shoe with the padding at the top. The pairs I returned had a rounded feel while these new ones have more of an edge so by end of day it feels like its rubbing on the side of the foot... Today they issued me another credit/return we never talked about which meant more phone time... They were all very nice but to be on the phone that long just to get a return authorized or corrected is bit a poor cust service. I'll try to give another update on the 4E in about a week or so after I see if the rubbing effect goes away from the back of the shoe."

"I wore them only on the treadmill, the very same treadmill every morning for 23 years... Over the last three months the soles began to peel away and I glued them twice before finally tripping over them... They were much smaller perhaps a half size... These shoes are very shallow giving my feet the feeling they were riding on top of a shoe rather than being enclosed in it... They were much lighter, I know many applaud a lighter shoe, but to my mind this weight savings came by using cheaper materials... It saddens me that a good American brand like this has fallen so low, but frankly this new New Balance shoes belong in a discount store..... Don't waste your money on these cheaply made shoes."

"I bought these shoes as my old, American-made New Balance cross trainers were wearing out after 6 years of use. My old shoes are a 10-1/2 W, so I bought the same size of this model. I can say for sure that the New Balance Men's MX623v2 Cross-Training Shoe is much, much tighter in the "toe-box" area, and the length is also much shorter, than my old pair, which fit perfectly out of the box... ) If I had known that they'd be this tight, then I would have ordered an 11 W, a full size larger than what I normally wear. I am returning them, however, which Amazon has made quite easy to do, as I don't trust that the 11 W would fit in the toe box area either. I bought the brown and red, model, which was quite handsome in appearance, but I just couldn't suffer them any more after wearing them for more than an hour... I'm quite disappointed with New Balance for selling these and not sizing them correctly."

"I just bought another pair of New Balance shoes, but stayed away from this year's version of the 623... I might have purchased another set anyway--what difference does it make if they last two years, or just eighteen months? But I opted to go with another New Balance walking shoe that had a slightly more upscale appearance. I've worn New Balance tennis, sport and walking shoes for years. Since I wear a 14 2E size shoe, it's tough to have much of a choice in the local sporting goods stores... When I was shopping to buy these shoes, my local sporting goods store took three full weeks to order them--and then didn't come through... A trip to Amazon fixed that problem and I had my shoes two days later."

"I like these shoes, they look nice for sport and casual wear, and the quality is good with the leather upper. But as someone who has a mild case of plantar fasciatis, I had to take out the original NB flat insole and replace them with Pinnacle Powerstep insoles. With that change, I can wear these shoes all day. I pretty much only wear New Balance shoes, because they are one of the few shoe makers to make size 16 shoes that I need... So I'll say, these tend to fit more narrow than a lot of other NB models. I normally wear 2E, but bought these at 4E, and they still feel snug in terms of their width. So whatever width you normally are, I'd order up one or two larger widths for these shoes, unless you want a really tight fit."

"I ordered the same exact shoe that I'm currently wearing. Shoe size I received was way too small and too narrow at the toe area. My original shoe lasted 3 years so far, but the shoe sole became unglued. Based on other 1 star reviews, maybe I should try to glue my old shoes, rather than order an inferior manufactured shoe... I returned and reordered a different sized shoe (from 10... I did not know what other shoe to get ... but they do have an issue with the longevity of the glue they use."
