"Overall I've had no issues to report with them, after going through a lot of crappy flip flops I can tell you that it is worth it to pay for quality (and that is true for most things in life, the earlier ya realize it the happier you'll be).""After ordering these and putting them to the test I was immediately impressed by the build quality and the overall comfort and I can say that after almost a years worth of wear and an Arizona summer later these things are STILL holding up just like new!"
"As of yet, I have no replacement but I'm hopeful that they will send me a new pair, and they did e-mail that they were processing my claim as quickly as possible (it's been 10 days since they received them)."
"bc i really like the way these sandal fit my feet, i went on here and bought another pair and it fit and feel good, so i was happy again, but then after almost a year later the front strap started to tear and i worry that it going to do the same thing as my last pair so i was very careful when i wear it, but then one day was just walking the side strap came off the sandal and the sandal is ruined."
"From the pictures it looked like a "rubbery" material that would be a firm and durable base for the sandal, but it was actually more of a pressed foam that I didn't feel would hold up to extensive outdoor use around the sand and water."
"But they are otherwise comfortable, after a week of wearing them I feel it is safe to keep them and transition over from my Birkenstock Arizonas (which have a great foot bed btw)."
"The bottle opener is more of a novelty, since you don't normally take your shoe off to open a beer, but it's still nice to know it is there for emergencies."

"As far as these go they are durable, they've been worn, but not to the point where I've taken serious notice in any way... The bottle opener on the bottom is very functional, but as others have mentioned you will look like a fool if you try and do it while standing... Overall I've had no issues to report with them, after going through a lot of crappy flip flops I can tell you that it is worth it to pay for quality (and that is true for most things in life, the earlier ya realize it the happier you'll be).""After reading reviews, looking through pictures I decided on these sandals given they looked pretty well put together and had a very highly padded heel which I find to be a requirement when sometimes I wear the sandal for the upwards of 8-10 hours in a day. After ordering these and putting them to the test I was immediately impressed by the build quality and the overall comfort and I can say that after almost a years worth of wear and an Arizona summer later these things are STILL holding up just like new!... After a year's worth of practice I've actually perfected a kicking 'open' with it where I can actually open bottles being held by others without removing the sandal, quite a conversation piece when out camping!"
"My first pair lasted 7 months when the piece that goes between your toes pulled up from the rest of the sandal... As of yet, I have no replacement but I'm hopeful that they will send me a new pair, and they did e-mail that they were processing my claim as quickly as possible (it's been 10 days since they received them)... I wear sandals every day all day in summer - these aren't weekend beach shoes for me."
"I bought this reef sandal bc one of my good friend said "it is the best quality sandal there is, it will last me years after years and it won't break, it will well worth the price i paid for" (which was around $55) so i took his word and bought it, it fit my feet very well and was very comfortable, i was happy thinking that i finally find a pair of sandal that would fit my feet the way i want... After about 6 months the front strap broke, i coudn't believe it, so i told my friend about it he told me that they had a warranty but wasn't sure how long but i couldn't find my receipt so i forget that idea... bc i really like the way these sandal fit my feet, i went on here and bought another pair and it fit and feel good, so i was happy again, but then after almost a year later the front strap started to tear and i worry that it going to do the same thing as my last pair so i was very careful when i wear it, but then one day was just walking the side strap came off the sandal and the sandal is ruined."
"It was pretty much in line with what I had seen from Reef in the past, but I was a little disappointed with the texture of some of the materials that were used... From the pictures it looked like a "rubbery" material that would be a firm and durable base for the sandal, but it was actually more of a pressed foam that I didn't feel would hold up to extensive outdoor use around the sand and water... But I didn't feel like it was an option for everyday use, and a pair of mid-grade sandals just to kick around in wasn't quite worth the $40 price point to me, so I wound up sending them back."
"So I always walk a certain way to make sure they don't come off and that causes pains in other parts of the feet... -Orthoheel- I returned the Fannings and got Orthoheel Waves, they were uncomfortable the first day and the strap still hurts between the toes and fingers. But they are otherwise comfortable, after a week of wearing them I feel it is safe to keep them and transition over from my Birkenstock Arizonas (which have a great foot bed btw)."
"My boyfriend kept buying cheap black sandals from Walmart, but he was making a mess of our floors and bathtub because of all of the black stuff that would rub off on his feet; also, the padding would disappear or the straps would break really fast. I personally own only one pair of flip-flops/thongs, Clarks, that I bought 5 years ago for $40 and have never shown wear... The bottle opener is more of a novelty, since you don't normally take your shoe off to open a beer, but it's still nice to know it is there for emergencies."

"Purchased these flip flops I guess 3 years ago (geez that went by quicker than I thought). I guess I should follow that by saying that I do not wear them all the time, generally my lifestyle has me choosing different options when it comes to footwear. That being said my Reefs have seen significant use in hot weather, wet conditions, sand, and I do love them. As far as these go they are durable, they've been worn, but not to the point where I've taken serious notice in any way... The bottle opener on the bottom is very functional, but as others have mentioned you will look like a fool if you try and do it while standing... I know some other flip flops can "bleed" a little and stain your feet... Overall I've had no issues to report with them, after going through a lot of crappy flip flops I can tell you that it is worth it to pay for quality (and that is true for most things in life, the earlier ya realize it the happier you'll be).""Living in Arizona I find it much easier to just throw a pair on instead of going through the hassle of getting socks and shoes on especially for simple tasks around the house. When my old LL Bean sandals finally gave up the goat (120 degree weather and even hotter blacktop surfaces lend to premature wearing and ungluing of components) I had to start digging to find something to replace them. After reading reviews, looking through pictures I decided on these sandals given they looked pretty well put together and had a very highly padded heel which I find to be a requirement when sometimes I wear the sandal for the upwards of 8-10 hours in a day. After ordering these and putting them to the test I was immediately impressed by the build quality and the overall comfort and I can say that after almost a years worth of wear and an Arizona summer later these things are STILL holding up just like new!... Now, with that being said the novelty feature of the bottle opener built into the bottom of the sandal is actually quite entertaining! After a year's worth of practice I've actually perfected a kicking 'open' with it where I can actually open bottles being held by others without removing the sandal, quite a conversation piece when out camping! These sandals are genuinely worth the money and if mine ever start showing wear I'm sure that I'll be right back to order a new set!"
"They're extremely comfortable, light, and the bottle opener underneath the sandal is a great touch - BUT it tends to catch dirt & rocks and needs to be cleaned frequently... ) For the price, I can afford to buy a few pairs a year - and that's good, because they aren't as durable as they should be. My first pair lasted 7 months when the piece that goes between your toes pulled up from the rest of the sandal... As of yet, I have no replacement but I'm hopeful that they will send me a new pair, and they did e-mail that they were processing my claim as quickly as possible (it's been 10 days since they received them). Given that in the past I've purchased Tommy Bahama sandals (over $100) that also only last 4-7 months, I'm a Reef convert. If I do find a brand that is as comfortable, reasonably priced & more durable -- I'll go that route... I wear sandals every day all day in summer - these aren't weekend beach shoes for me."

"I've had decent luck with Reef sandals in the past, and thought I would give these a try based on those experiences... It was pretty much in line with what I had seen from Reef in the past, but I was a little disappointed with the texture of some of the materials that were used. To be fair, I knew going into my purchase that these were going to be fake leather, and more on the lower end of the Reef brand, but I had hoped they would be a decent option for more casual use... From the pictures it looked like a "rubbery" material that would be a firm and durable base for the sandal, but it was actually more of a pressed foam that I didn't feel would hold up to extensive outdoor use around the sand and water... I actually liked the idea of a bottle opener in the sole, and the cushioning from the air pocket in the heel was very comfortable. But I didn't feel like it was an option for everyday use, and a pair of mid-grade sandals just to kick around in wasn't quite worth the $40 price point to me, so I wound up sending them back. You could certainly do a lot worse than buying a pair of these, but I think there are better options out there at $40 a pair."
"I have severe plantar fasciitis and there are very very few products that actually help the condition. I own Birkentock Arizonas, which are better than walking barefeet but are heavy and slip off my feet. So I always walk a certain way to make sure they don't come off and that causes pains in other parts of the feet. I ordered Reef Fanning's based on the reviews (obviously), to only wear around the carpeted house... The slippers seem to have fair arch support but the heels are not hollowed to provide cushion (a must)...

I personally own only one pair of flip-flops/thongs, Clarks, that I bought 5 years ago for $40 and have never shown wear... He was mad that I bought them, and scoffed at the heel height, but he ate those words pretty quick once he started wearing them. He's not the gratuitous type, but he thanks me randomly all the time because they are flip-flop heaven. He was really impressed that they are well-cushioned, tough, and overall really well made. The bottle opener is more of a novelty, since you don't normally take your shoe off to open a beer, but it's still nice to know it is there for emergencies. Would buy again, although (short of losing or destroying them) he won't need another pair for another half a decade or more."
