"My husband has a pair of "boat" shoes, you know the type, the leather or canvas type of slide on shoes with the thick leather lacing around the exterior? I've never been a fan of those, but I know a lot of people think they are ultra comfortable and a lot think they are "classy" (my husband really does, lol.) He has a pair of Sperry brand leather boat shoes that he got on sale about 2-3 years ago, they look terrible. He loves them, and wears them everywhere when he is not at work. They seriously look 10 years old in my opinion, but I guess it is because he has worn them in the rain, while walking in the mall or errands, walking around the yard gardening (we live in the country), walking in muddy grass, every where. He has even worn them dressy casual to eat dinner with the family. I think they used to be dark grey or even navy blue grey tone. They are now a worn out blotchy dull, grey white. Ugly shoes. They are worn, dry, and the leather looks like it would cry if it was alive. I decided to surprise him and try to freshen them up a bit, or at least try. I was sent a few sample products for review from Leather Nova which is a company that makes gentle, effective and natural leather care products. The Leather Cleaner comes in a large spray bottle that included a generously sized microfiber application and buffing cloth. The Leather Conditioner & Restorer comes with a small round sponge. The leather cleaner spray (separate item from same company) prepares the leather to be treated, by lifting out dirt and stains, creating a clean base for the next step (conditioning). Here are the shoes below: (don't say I did not warn you, they are U-G-L-Y.) I sprayed the Leather Cleaner GENEROUSLY all over these shoes. I did not pre-wash or wipe the shoes down (the white rubber soles and edges are dirty) because it was already late and I just wanted to surprise him the next morning. The directions instructed me to use the microfiber towel, but after a few uses, it seemed much easier for me to just use my fingers to get in all the crevices. After cleaning one shoe, I was amazed, I think these used to be dark blue toned grey. The wet leather appeared a nice navy, and I had wished they would remain that color as they looked rather striking, but I knew they were just really generously moistened with cleaner and would be lighter when dry. However, they were starting to feel really soft, pliable, and felt so nice. As the pictures show, the leather seemed to smooth out and become almost buttery. The leather was squishy and for a moment, if I closed my eyes while cleaning them, I could almost dream and imagine they were my own soft, supple, squishy leather bag. :)Please excuse the dirty white soles, I was not in the mood to clean (scrub) them. They smelled better too. The leather smelled newer and cleaner. I did not smell any chemicals or perfumes, just clean leather scent. I left that dry about 30 minutes and then applied the conditioner I was sent to review. The Leather Conditioner & Restorer was a smaller bottle that came with a round yellow foam applicator and buffer. The conditioner was a clear oil / gel like consistency which surprised me. Our other leather conditioner that we had once was a white cream. This gel oil was not overly heavy or oily, and I found it easiest for me to apply it with my fingers and then use the sponge to buff in a circle. It did not feel waxy or sticky. It is supposed to assist will repelling water, so I am hopeful about that. I think these 2 leather products worked well and I will use these again for his shoes and any other leather products. I really liked using the spray bottle for application as it made things much quicker and easier. I like how the products do not cover up the leather with fragrance. I like how the shoes were dry after only 2 hours and despite the generous amounts of conditioner I applied, they do not feel oily or sticky. "While most people are swimming and thinking of summer vacations, I am looking ahead at fall. I have a leather biker jacket that I want to prep for cooler nights and many pairs of shoes as well as bags that need some reconditioning. I liked that this product came with a sponge (It's the little things...) and that it seemed easy to use. I didn't realize it didn't clean the leather though. It is, as it says, a conditioner and restorer and leather should be cleaned if needed before you use this product. Application is easy. Just apply with the sponge or your hand in small areas in a circular motion. Let dry for an hour then buff. The leather should be clean FIRST. If you don't have leather cleaner, the company suggests using a cloth with mild soapy water to clean the areas you want to condition and letting the article completely dry before using the conditioner. I wasn't sure how this would work so I chose a small older bag that I had and made sure it was clean. I applied this product which has a pleasant scent to the bag in circular motions and let it dry. Buffing was a little bit of a pain but the product came off the bag with no residue. It looks nice and feels supple. I am not sure yet how long the the bag will look this way but I do like that it feels more supple and looks less grungy. I am going with 4 stars. I need to do more before I say it is THE one for me. I don't know if I will do my biker jacket with this. I am testing a number of conditioners and restorers and will decide after that. But this Leather Nova product does what it says and it doesn't stink up the house. It's pretty easy to use and buffing it when dry is the only "elbow grease" you will need to put in and not much at that. It didn't stain or discolor my bag at all. I received this product at a promotional price in exchange for my evaluation and honest review. I have given you my experience. I think, for clean leather items, this product will do a good job conditioning and restoring. It doesn't clean the leather so you need to do that first."
"I ordered this product "accidentally" (meant to buy one of their cleaning products) but it all worked out in the end... The conditioner really shined my leather shoes up after rubbing it on (with the included applicator, very convenient). Some friends were over when I was conditioning (thrilling Friday night), and they commented on how they could really see the difference after I was done...I was concerned because I didn't clean the shoes much before using Leather Nova. I used this on my favorite leather jacket and a skirt too...worked well. I would be careful of using too much - I had some "wet spots" left where I may have applied too much product but they ended up drying out after setting (not sure of exact dry time but they were definitely dry after setting out overnight). I think a little bit of this goes a long way. The conditioner was oily but easily washed off with soap and water unlike some other products that take a bit more scrubbing and more soap to wash completely off. The applicator also cleaned really easily. The oiliness while applying was very tolerable IMO. I very rarely leave reviews for purchases but I was very happy with this product and really appreciated the customer service. I was reached out to within days of my purchase to see how it was working (with an offer of a full refund and no product return necessary should I have any less than 100% satisfaction). After responding, I received another email asking if I wanted a complimentary bottle (shipping included) as an expression of the company's appreciation. I shamelessly asked if I could try out one of their cleaning products instead (re: my opening sentence), and Leather Nova happily obliged - my bottle of Leather Conditioner And Cleaner is currently on its way! Customer service goes a long way with me but honestly Leather Nova's product could stand on its own. Disclaimer: I haven't worn any one pair of my shoes many times since conditioning but the shine on each worn pair is holding up well so far. I would definitely recommend this product and plan on purchasing from Leather Nova again when my current stash runs out."

"I was excited to be selected by Leather Nova to try their Leather Cleaner AND Leather Conditioner & Restorer because I never have really put much attention into my leather sofa and ottoman and I feel it shows. When I got my furniture about 3 years ago, it came with a free little bottle of leather cleaner (that looks and smells like water) and that's all I've ever used to clean - and I've never conditioned them. I knew my couch was in much need of some cleaning and conditioning! When my package arrived, I was excited to see that each product comes with it's own applicator. I first used the cleaner all over, as directed and allowed my couch to dry for awhile. I was surprised when I read the directions that stated, "You may also use your hand [to apply]"... This stuff is greasy, oily, and goopy. There was no way I was putting it directly onto my hands! However, it was nice to know that I had that option. Like I mentioned before, I've never used any type of conditioner on my couch before - and boy, I think it needed it. The leather just sucked this stuff up like crazy, I had to keep re-applying the product to the applicator every few inches, as it would go dry that quickly. The good news is, after the entire couch was done, I only had used about 1/4 of the bottle - I assumed over half would be gone! Once all of the conditioner was applied, the couch was incredibly oily and wet looking, but I trusted the directions which say to leave it sit for 1 hour. After the hour was up, I used a dry cloth to buff the entire surface of the couch - and wow, what a difference! The couch officially looked cleaner and shinier! It felt incredibly soft to the touch - something I continue to notice every time I sit on it. The entire process took about 2 hours including drying time, but it's obvious that the products work!"
"Wow I really liked all of these products and couldn't be happier! I live in Wisconsin and we've already gotten a taste of fall weather so I've had to put away all of my summer clothes and shoes and get my boots out. A few weeks ago I made took a trip down to my basement armed with these products from Leather Nova. What's great is that each of these products arrives sealed with a sponge, buffer or towel attached to the bottle. I didn't have to use my own towel or rag. The leather cleaner is a spray bottle of white unscented liquid. A little goes a long way. I applied to my shoes and boots with the towel and let it dry. Once dry, I followed up with application of Leather Nova's Conditioner & Restorer. Immediately my shoes and boots were shiny and clean. They really looked better and I could see where some of the old salt and water stains from last season disappeared. For some of my other shoes and boots I used the bottle of Conditioner & Cleaner. This was by far my favorite product because it was one product to clean and condition the leather instead of having to use 2 separate products. As with the other Leather Nova products, this one had no scent which was really nice. I have always hated using shoe cleaners that smell strongly and give me a headache. I noticed the same result with all 3 of Leather Nova's products and was able to clean and condition 15 pairs of shoes and boots in about 45 minutes. I liked the results so much that I used the Conditioner & Cleaner on some of my expensive purses which really seemed to give them new life. I also brought the product to work the next day and cleaned and conditioned my office chair! I'd recommend these to anyone needing to clean, condition and restore leather (jackets, purses, shoes or furniture).
