FRAM CF10134 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter

"First of all, the install was a breeze. It was done in less than 3 minutes. Had the fit been more snug, one minute is all it will take. The part arrived no problem. No problem opening it. The carbon filter bits somehow don't seem to be well inserted between the paper filters. The air-flow label is difficult to see (very light print on) and it's not printed on the same side as the OEM ones. The OEM ones have the air flow label clearly facing you as you pull out the filter tray/drawer. But this one came with the label to the side, so it was confusing if I should use that as an indicator and turn the filter 90% with the label facing me and install it. But when I do that, it clearly does not fit in to the tray. Also, the leaflet folding part in the filter didn't fit quite well when trying to insert into the tray. You almost have to force it and pull from the other side while trying to make sure no part is blocked by the tray (there's a little thing in the tray that's in the way of the filter). It's not designed at 100% fit in my opinion, but I'd say it's a 98% fit quality. As for filtering power, I noticed the air is cleaner in the cabin. The odor filter function is noticeably there, but when the car in front of you has a smog issue, you still need to shut the vent to recycle inside air only. For the price, I would buy it and easily install it on an annual basis. The dealer would charge you at least $30 to 50 and some even $120 to install a filter like this. Save money, DIY!!!"

"I use these in my 8th generation Accord. The fit is perfect, its actually a good quality replacement. My OEM filter also had "stuff" in it, it was not a plain paper filter. On my 2011 Accord it is very easy to replace, open the glove box, empty it, push the plastic arm back and disconnect it, let the door swing down. Then you can see the filter door, squeeze the tabs and pull the filter door/holder out and put a fresh filter in. Take notice of the air flow, my filters have an arrow clearly marked showing the intended air flow direction. Its very easy to do on the 8th Gen Accords, no tools required. My dealer charges around $58.00 last time I checked, its a rip off. Same goes for the engine air filter. I get the Fram engine air filters for less than $18. The dealer does charge less for the engine air filter though, I thinks its around $38 plus tax for a $12 filter that takes very little effort to install. The dealer prices are enough to keep me away for the little stuff. You can get the plain paper filters for $11 or so, but the Fram Fresh Air version is better, its just like OEM or better. Probably the same filter in different packaging. After pollen season is over, its a good idea to put a fresh cabin filter in. I replace mine once or twice per year as needed, it helps greatly on the dusty roads I run on. I check mine every 20,000 miles, its usually time at 20K for me. It all depends on your area, the pollen is really thick here."

"We just purchased a 2008 CR-V EX-L and I read that there was an air filter for the cabin. After looking this up I found this filter on Amazon and it has worked nicely. The old filter was not that dirty but because it is a used vehicle I wanted to change it. Wife and kids drive the car mostly. Installation: (SEE PICTURES ABOVE FOR STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS) This was ridiculously easy to install. On the 2008 CR-V you just open the glove box. On the right hand side of the glove box is a latch with a hook. Just un-hook this latch and the glove box will drop. Then just push in the top sides of the glove box and it will drop completely exposing the filter area. Now, just look up inside and you will see the filter. It is rectangle in shape and has two clips - one on the left and one on the right. Just push these clips inward and pull at the same time. The filter tray will slide out. Take the old filter out of the tray, replace with new, slide back inside and make sure you hear the clips snap. Then put the glove box back in place (reverse previous steps) and you are good to go! PROS: Fits perfect Easy to install - 3 minutes tops Charcoal/baking soda nice added feature SAVES MONEY - Dealer fees HIGH! CONS: NONE"

"What little decrease in odors there may be is mostly psychological. Immediately after replacing my OEM filter with the Fram Fresh Breeze, the air smelled "hospital clean". That lasted all of a few minutes. I drove past a dead skunk and it smelled just as strong as before this filter. The same goes for diesel fumes, refinery odors, smoking vehicles, cigarette smoke coming from other vehicles while sitting in a drive-through, and any other "bad" smell. The good part is that its ineffectiveness also allows "good" smells like freshly cut grass and the smell of rain to enter the vehicle. There is a reason that auto manufacturers generally don't include or offer these types of filters - they simply aren't really effective and are more of a marketing claim. THE BAD - Removes some odors, but only for the the first few minutes. - Has fewer pleats than the OEM filter, which results in less filtration surface area and shorter life. - Lacks a foam gasket that is present on the OEM filter which results in more air leakage around the filter reducing its effectiveness. THE GOOD - Build quality is acceptable. - The [ineffective] odor removal gimmick doesn't really add much to the price. In fact, it's less expensive than the OEM filter without this gimmick, but this may be negated by the shorter life expectancy due to fewer pleats as mentioned above. In summary: OEM filters are usually good quality, though somewhat pricey. No automotive cabin air filter will completely prevent odors from entering the cabin. If you can get this filter for significantly less than the OEM filter, then buy it. But, never pay the same or more for this filter."

"I have been used this on both of my Acura vehicles for the last two to three years, so far I am pleased with them. I replace both Engine and Cabin air filters after allergy season annually, possibly an overkill, but the filters are cheap and the work is pretty easy, so for the peace of mind ... Back to the filter itself, fits really well. I can't tell much difference between these and the regular OEM's; but since they actually cost slightly less, and they are carbon, so I use them anyway. Odor still comes in - I am pretty much sensitive to odor - I hate it when the cars in front of me smell bad, but since emission inspection isn't required here, there is little that I can do other than switching to internal circular. There is one thing that's kind of weird: both filters I received this year showed air should pass through from the side with light color to the side with darker color; but from the old ones showed exact opposite, I followed the direction anyway, but this still felt weird. Maybe they changed something."

"This is a Fram # CF10134 - Using Google the number FCF10134 only shows up linked to this Amazon listing... not at Fram! Go to the Fram site for models this filter fits... the parts look-up [under "Make sure it fits"] is also wrong! Fram lists the CF10134 for Civics, 2006. 2007, 2008 etc., yet "Make sure it fits" said the filter would not work - it did not list any Fram cabin air filters for the 2007 Civic. Ordered the filter based on Fram's site, and indeed received a CF10134. It fit without problems, taking about 2 minutes to replace, & that includes walking out to the car... Google for pictures if you want to make sure you can handle it before ordering. Instructions are included with the filter, but they are *only* for an Accord - while the procedure was identical on the 2007 Civic, I have no idea if it's the same for all Hondas. Amazon's service was great, as always, & the price was very fair... The filter's just a simple paper filter - how long it'll last depends on how dirty the air is where you drive - so really can't say this filter is better or worse than brand X... I like Fram, & the charcoal coating they add eliminates some of the oders in the air outside the car."

"I had just purchased my 2004 Honda Accord EX V-6 and the old filter seemed new but I like to do what I can on a car and this filter with it's Baking Soda feature seemed like a good bet since there are quite a few odors we encounter on the highway. Although the Honda owners manual says to take it to the dealer to change, I don't think you could find an EASIER car to change the cabin air filter on than a 2004 Honda Accord. It should take less than 5 minutes if your car is unlocked and the glove box is relatively empty. If you have to unlock the car and empty the glove box it should still take only a couple of minutes more. Check your owners manual since changing this filter might be only slightly harder than cleaning the windshield. It is also considerably cheaper than what the dealer will charge you and that does not include his 5 minutes of labor. Remarkably, the air does seem cleaner and fresher through the duct system but that might be hard for me to prove to you without scientific equipement. The bottom line is this cabin air filter does all you could expect a cabin air filter to do, plus it has baking soda so it might even deter some odors from reaching you and your passengers. And if you have never changed the filter you should definately do so at least once a year."
