"Pro: -Fun nerdy watch -Functional basic calculator -Fits comfortably -High quality band for rubber -Dual time -Stop watch Cons: -Buttons are small -No dual alarms -No real powers function -Thin band for questionable durability Overall 5 stars as this is a fun, functional watch at a great price.""I cannot more highly recommend this watch to anyone, it is comfortable, has a watch, calculator, alarm clock, and most importantly for Janet and I it has a stopwatch."
"It's an awesome, dependable watch that keeps great time (+/- 15 secs/month) and the calculator is a useful feature to have on your wrist so you don't have to pull your phone out."
"My ability to read small numbers and symbols is fading, so I may have to get a different model calculator watch with more visible numbers and functions that may not "look adult", but who cares, as long as I can read it."
"The only things holding me back from giving it 5 stars are the fact that it does not display the date on any of it's multiple settings and that there's no way to make the screen backlit, so it's impossible to read the watch without some form of light already present in the room."
"then again, you wouldn't be reading this section of the review, which means you had this as a youngster, which means you know what i'm talking about and you're just reading this to find out if it's the real deal or you want to start a club with me and the other 30/40-somethings that had this as a kid."
"PROS: Comfortable & thin on the wrist Very legible display with Day and time on screen at once easy access to date (Year, month, and day) pre-programmed perpetual calendar with leap year days straight-forward and user-friendly calculator Loud and clear alarm that can't be missed CONS: May not fit well on very large wrists Buttons may be hard to press accurately with large fingertips Overall, for the great price, I would definately reccomend this DataBank if you need an easily-accessed basic calculator, or work in an office environment where the instant calculator can come in handy."

"I work in a industrial area so I like cheap watches that I don't have to care for and will break off my wrist in an emergency... The watch band feels great, the rubber quality appears much better and softer than the Timex watches, but then again Timex watches you can drop all you want and they keep going... Pro: -Fun nerdy watch -Functional basic calculator -Fits comfortably -High quality band for rubber -Dual time -Stop watch Cons: -Buttons are small -No dual alarms -No real powers function -Thin band for questionable durability Overall 5 stars as this is a fun, functional watch at a great price.""The first thing I did was to sell my xbox 360 and all its accessories on craigslist for $150 (I had a lot of stuff), the reason being was that I had an epiphany when they told me to play Modern Warfare with them... I then purchased this CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator, the first girl that talked to me about it was Janet, from my circuit analysis class... I cannot more highly recommend this watch to anyone, it is comfortable, has a watch, calculator, alarm clock, and most importantly for Janet and I it has a stopwatch."
"I regret not taking better care of my first one, but I'm glad I could buy this same model again... It says it is on the case, but there's no BAR marking, which means that it's only designed to withstand light rain, and small splashes from hand washing, etc... It's an awesome, dependable watch that keeps great time (+/- 15 secs/month) and the calculator is a useful feature to have on your wrist so you don't have to pull your phone out."
"I tried to replace the battery on one of these watches, but the flimsy rubber water seal broke when I removed the back, and I do not know where to get a replacement rubber seal... My ability to read small numbers and symbols is fading, so I may have to get a different model calculator watch with more visible numbers and functions that may not "look adult", but who cares, as long as I can read it... I have been using this Casio model for years, and except for problems replacing the battery, I have not had any other problems with it."
"We'll see how it holds up to general wear and tear, but for now I'm noticing more of what's immediately apparent: It's a good size-- Not so small that you can't read the display and not so large that it takes over the whole of my arm... The only things holding me back from giving it 5 stars are the fact that it does not display the date on any of it's multiple settings and that there's no way to make the screen backlit, so it's impossible to read the watch without some form of light already present in the room. Also, while I don't take issue with this, some people might: The buttons on the actual watch face--the ones that would be used for any sort of calculations-- are very tiny and closely spaced."
"so, if you're one of those idiot consumerists, please don't buy this watch and parade around like you really know anything about one of the defining possessions of my childhood. then again, you wouldn't be reading this section of the review, which means you had this as a youngster, which means you know what i'm talking about and you're just reading this to find out if it's the real deal or you want to start a club with me and the other 30/40-somethings that had this as a kid... paragraph 3: there was a recent study that indicated that owners of this watch were significantly more likely to have a technical career vs any other."

"I must say I was pretty stoked to order this guy even before I got it, but I will make this a fair review. I work in a industrial area so I like cheap watches that I don't have to care for and will break off my wrist in an emergency... The alarm is just like any other watch, and it only has one alarm... It is nice that the alarm on/off is an actual button rather than having to press and hold a button. The dual time just keeps a separate time in case you need to know the time in another time zone... The watch band feels great, the rubber quality appears much better and softer than the Timex watches, but then again Timex watches you can drop all you want and they keep going... Pro: -Fun nerdy watch -Functional basic calculator -Fits comfortably -High quality band for rubber -Dual time -Stop watch Cons: -Buttons are small -No dual alarms -No real powers function -Thin band for questionable durability Overall 5 stars as this is a fun, functional watch at a great price.""The first thing I did was to sell my xbox 360 and all its accessories on craigslist for $150 (I had a lot of stuff), the reason being was that I had an epiphany when they told me to play Modern Warfare with them. The epiphany is: there will always be new video games coming out, most of them aren't worth your time... They all want to take him into the bathroom without lotion or Maxim, if I look like him, I will get all the babes. I also got a Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym, now I work out 3 times a week and I am totally ripped (well at least I'm ripping). I then purchased this CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator, the first girl that talked to me about it was Janet, from my circuit analysis class... I flashed him my CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator and told him to go into the bathroom with some lotion and a copy of Maxim, he knew immediately that he would never talk to me again. I cannot more highly recommend this watch to anyone, it is comfortable, has a watch, calculator, alarm clock, and most importantly for Janet and I it has a stopwatch."
"I used to own this Casio Calculator watch several years ago... It kept perfect time, and the battery lasted at least 10 years... I regret not taking better care of my first one, but I'm glad I could buy this same model again. The only con for this model is that it's not really Water Resistant, per se. It says it is on the case, but there's no BAR marking, which means that it's only designed to withstand light rain, and small splashes from hand washing, etc... It's an awesome, dependable watch that keeps great time (+/- 15 secs/month) and the calculator is a useful feature to have on your wrist so you don't have to pull your phone out... ) You should buy one of these even if you aren't in the market for a new watch."
"One of the things that I really like about this plastic watch is that it is very light in weight at 0... Casio makes a lot of fancy watches with as many functions as a Swiss Army knife, but they also weigh as much as a Swiss Army Knife... I tried to replace the battery on one of these watches, but the flimsy rubber water seal broke when I removed the back, and I do not know where to get a replacement rubber seal... This watch is handy, but the calculator numbers are very tiny, and the calculator functions are printed in dark red against a black background, making them impossible to read except under a bright light. My ability to read small numbers and symbols is fading, so I may have to get a different model calculator watch with more visible numbers and functions that may not "look adult", but who cares, as long as I can read it... I have been using this Casio model for years, and except for problems replacing the battery, I have not had any other problems with it. One thing I would like Casio to add is a button and light for the display."
"We'll see how it holds up to general wear and tear, but for now I'm noticing more of what's immediately apparent: It's a good size-- Not so small that you can't read the display and not so large that it takes over the whole of my arm. It's lightweight and water resistant. While the manual looks a bit daunting at first, it's only because the same information is repeated within it in various languages. The instructions are easy to understand and, once you know how, the watch is easy to set and operate... The only things holding me back from giving it 5 stars are the fact that it does not display the date on any of it's multiple settings and that there's no way to make the screen backlit, so it's impossible to read the watch without some form of light already present in the room. Also, while I don't take issue with this, some people might: The buttons on the actual watch face--the ones that would be used for any sort of calculations-- are very tiny and closely spaced. For someone with larger fingers this might present a problem."
"paragraph 1: if you're not familiar with this watch from owning it years ago, then this part of the review doesn't apply to you... as a 9 or 10 year old kid who realized he was wearing his mother's lady-watch around school, i asked for a more gender appropriate watch for my birthday or Christmas or some other high holiday... so, if you're one of those idiot consumerists, please don't buy this watch and parade around like you really know anything about one of the defining possessions of my childhood. then again, you wouldn't be reading this section of the review, which means you had this as a youngster, which means you know what i'm talking about and you're just reading this to find out if it's the real deal or you want to start a club with me and the other 30/40-somethings that had this as a kid... i've actually used the calculator and every other function this watch has... paragraph 3: there was a recent study that indicated that owners of this watch were significantly more likely to have a technical career vs any other... that's certainly not a reason to buy this watch and if this fact influences others to buy this watch, then those numbers would need to be reexamined."
"I purchased this watch a number of years ago (at the bargain price of $15) and it still works as if it was brand new. I've worn it almost every day as a secondary watch, and it could easily handle everyday life. With day, date, year, month, 24/12 hour time formats, an hourly time signal, daily alarm, 8-digit basic calculator with constant memory, Dual time for travel, and stopwatch with a lap function, this classic (Worn by Marty in Back to the Future!... It may be more low-profile and thinner than you think if you are used to normal wristwatches or more advanced Databanks, but it's still very comfortable and reliable. I normally have the mute on, and I use the calculator 20+ times a day, with absolutely no problems of wear and malfunction. It's been submerged (although it's only Water-resistant), dropped and whacked, been exposed to intense sunlight and extreme temperatures, woth still no problems or wear... PROS: Comfortable & thin on the wrist Very legible display with Day and time on screen at once easy access to date (Year, month, and day) pre-programmed perpetual calendar with leap year days straight-forward and user-friendly calculator Loud and clear alarm that can't be missed CONS: May not fit well on very large wrists Buttons may be hard to press accurately with large fingertips Overall, for the great price, I would definately reccomend this DataBank if you need an easily-accessed basic calculator, or work in an office environment where the instant calculator can come in handy."
