"The magnets are very strong, but I have an iPhone 6+ and it was just too much for this holder... I was also concerned that the heat here in the Southwest would be too much for the adhesive, but it didn't last long enough to find out... UPDATE PART 2: After being pursued a few times via email by their customer service (mainly because of my negative review), the decided to send me a completely different phone holder.""* Included: Base Ball unit 2 X Alcohol prep pads 2 X Base adhesive pads (including the one already attached) 2 X Metal phone attaching pads (including the one already attached) This is a very solid unit and has a hefty weight to it, which was surprising because I expected it to feel cheap like most other phone mounts I've owned... It worked out better in the end because I chose to mount it on top of the dash, at the edge, just to the right of the steering wheel so my eyes wouldn't have to stray far from the road to glance at the phone... I chose to attach the adhesive metal disk on the back of my phone case instead of directly to the back of my phone because even though it is thin (credit card thickness), I was concerned it would interfere with how the phone fit inside of the case."
"I moved to this finally after having so many traditional push in and clip in type of car phone holders (particularly the iOtties) and will probably not go back! Having a magnetic phone holder really cleans out the dashboard, and you ll have realize how much better and cleaner it looks than anything bulky... It takes some time getting use to as it won t feel as strongly attached as traditional phone holders but for most purposes, it will be on your dash to stay ??"
"I was wondering if the thin plate for the phone came with the mount... The magnet sticks right through my phone case. I have the clear cheap case that wraps around my phone with a clear thin back."
"I then tried to pivot the top of the base towards me and when it went as far as it would go while I was still applying some pressure to turn it, it came off... Also, the base is very short, so if you have it back from the edge, your phone will only tilt slightly... I have a Pixel XL, so with the disk stuck to the center of the phone back, but not obstructing the finger print reader, there is still too much phone on any side to tilt it so it's directly or even almost directly facing me."
"Even if you aren't using GPS while driving, it's nice to have a place to put your phone in the car... You can buy a pack of those magnetic plates and put them on other things too to (tablets and other phones). You can turn the mount on the ball bearing for a flexible range of motion, but in general however you angle the phone, it stays put without any movement."

"* This only stuck to my dashboard for a few days and then I could see that it was slowly starting to detach from it. The magnets are very strong, but I have an iPhone 6+ and it was just too much for this holder. I have also tried to contact the company to see if I can get a bigger base and magnet but have heard nothing... I was also concerned that the heat here in the Southwest would be too much for the adhesive, but it didn't last long enough to find out... UPDATE PART 2: After being pursued a few times via email by their customer service (mainly because of my negative review), the decided to send me a completely different phone holder... Second, you have to put a micro USB cable into the mount so it opens and closes AND one into your phone if you want to charge your phone... They need to make the mount's circumference bigger to hold weight, and they need to take into consideration that some people live in really hot climates, and their adhesive won't hold up.""* Included: Base Ball unit 2 X Alcohol prep pads 2 X Base adhesive pads (including the one already attached) 2 X Metal phone attaching pads (including the one already attached) This is a very solid unit and has a hefty weight to it, which was surprising because I expected it to feel cheap like most other phone mounts I've owned. The magnet is very strong and you can feel ball being pulled into the base when you go to attach them... I had some difficulty trying to find the best place to mount it, but this is because of the way my dash is laid out... It worked out better in the end because I chose to mount it on top of the dash, at the edge, just to the right of the steering wheel so my eyes wouldn't have to stray far from the road to glance at the phone. The instructions recommend not to attach your phone to it for the first 24 hours so the adhesive has time to set up. I chose to attach the adhesive metal disk on the back of my phone case instead of directly to the back of my phone because even though it is thin (credit card thickness), I was concerned it would interfere with how the phone fit inside of the case. I'm a fan of companies that have the consideration to include additional parts in case something happens and you need a second chance to install it or lose a part."

Having a magnetic phone holder really cleans out the dashboard, and you ll have realize how much better and cleaner it looks than anything bulky... I placed the magnet that goes on the phone, on my actual phone, and then put my case on. It does still attract strongly with the case on, however, when attaching directly onto the dash magnet (without my case on) the attraction feels substantially stronger. Nevertheless, it does still work with my case on as long as your not rough with button mashing your phone will stay on... It s small and unintrusive- the ball being about the size of a ping pong ball with its magnet plate, of course, not much bigger in surface area... It takes some time getting use to as it won t feel as strongly attached as traditional phone holders but for most purposes, it will be on your dash to stay ??"
"I was wondering if the thin plate for the phone came with the mount. The mount comes with TWO thin plates... I just ordered two more. The magnet sticks right through my phone case. I have the clear cheap case that wraps around my phone with a clear thin back. I plan to have one on each side my stereo in my Tahoe. One for me and the other for my wife."
"* This did not stick well to my car's dash. I used the alcohol prep, allowed it to dry thoroughly, peeled the cover off the sticky pad (which is very small) and pressed down on it for a full minute. I then tried to pivot the top of the base towards me and when it went as far as it would go while I was still applying some pressure to turn it, it came off. My dash is has a mild pebbled appearance, but I put it on a flat area and it just doesn't hold tight enough for my satisfaction. Also, the base is very short, so if you have it back from the edge, your phone will only tilt slightly... So even if it stuck very well to the dash, it would not work for me. I have a Pixel XL, so with the disk stuck to the center of the phone back, but not obstructing the finger print reader, there is still too much phone on any side to tilt it so it's directly or even almost directly facing me."
"* I've tried so many car mounts for my phone... Even if you aren't using GPS while driving, it's nice to have a place to put your phone in the car... As I get in the car, I always just stick my phone to the magnet, and it never gets lost or dropped in the car. I have a large iPhone 6 plus, and the magnetic plates hold it really super well to the phone mount. Also, the adhesive on the mount that sticks to the dash has held up in very cold and very hot weather. You can buy a pack of those magnetic plates and put them on other things too to (tablets and other phones). You can turn the mount on the ball bearing for a flexible range of motion, but in general however you angle the phone, it stays put without any movement."
