"Staedtler made manual sharpeners for drafting pencils that I'm sure are still the standard today for that profession... Plus, with them you have to stand over a waste basket when you sharpen a pencil, so that's a bit of a pain. I never expected to look for pencil sharpeners here on Amazon, but it worked out great, because the reviews of this Staedtler made the choice obvious... I took the first pencil out of the sharpener to give it a glance and it had a nice sharp point before I knew it was done. The blade is good quality, and if I ever bother to buy another cheap electric sharpener, I know this Staedtler would outlast it, and probably many others after it.
