World's Best Cat Litter, Clumping Litter Formula, 28-Pounds

Very Quick

"I also found that it actually clumps urine better; if I catch it before she pees too many times, I can actually scoop up one pee clump and carry it to the bathroom without any spilling, which is great because I don't have to carry the big (it's huge, with high sides, because she kicks up a storm) box to the bathroom."

"Yes it's natural, and it reassured me that my cat was munching on corn bits instead of crystals or clay, and yes, it clumps very well and you can remove pee really easily, but that's pretty much all I liked about it."

"They used two smaller boxes, both filled with Precious Clumping Cat Litter (linked) Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 40 pound bag Precious clumps just as well and has significantly less dust, but the odor control is hideously lacking."

"The giant litter box I bought has two small built-in bins almost like plastic flatware baskets on a dish drainer that are just the right size for storing the pooper scooper and a roll of dog poop bags."

"Overall, there's a reason I've been using this litter for many years- it's safe, not too dusty, flushable, and priced well."

"The photo plays a bit of tricks on your eye, so just know that it is a long cylinder, tipped on its side, with a very flat and almost shiny bottom (which is actually facing up)."

"I don't have enough experience to compare other litters but this seems on the more expensive side, though I give it some credit because the breeder I bought from was using it with her small 10-15 cat in-house cattery so I feel like she considered it value for money."

"Prior to buying this product, I had read in one or two reviews that the litter is basically just chicken feed repackaged, and that you could get a bag of chick starter from a feed store for much less money... I had also read that you should freeze the chick starter for a few days to kill any vermin that might have gotten in there--obviously, World's Best would have done something to sanitize their litter, but the chicken feed company might not be as careful... I also found that it actually clumps urine better; if I catch it before she pees too many times, I can actually scoop up one pee clump and carry it to the bathroom without any spilling, which is great because I don't have to carry the big (it's huge, with high sides, because she kicks up a storm) box to the bathroom."

"Every time he used the litter box (closed litterbox with a lid placed in a corner of the living room), he came out with dust all over his paws and face, walked to one of the rugs, and opened his paws to release tons of little corn bits all over the place... Yes it's natural, and it reassured me that my cat was munching on corn bits instead of crystals or clay, and yes, it clumps very well and you can remove pee really easily, but that's pretty much all I liked about it... It didn't clump, but pee was absorbed very well as long as there was enough litter in the box and that it was changed as needed (which was much less often than World's Best needed)."

"This was the first time since I purchased (3-4 months) it that I had to fully empty the box and refill it, which is honestly not bad... Slight dust tracking extends to a few feet from the box entrance, but none have made it onto my furniture since my cat likes to wipe her paws on the mat/carpet near the box... They used two smaller boxes, both filled with Precious Clumping Cat Litter (linked) Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 40 pound bag Precious clumps just as well and has significantly less dust, but the odor control is hideously lacking."

"Every cat box I ve ever had needed to be scooped at least once a day, and even with that, the odor was obvious... I keep about two inches of litter in the box, and that s been enough for him to do his business, without kicking litter out in every direction... The giant litter box I bought has two small built-in bins almost like plastic flatware baskets on a dish drainer that are just the right size for storing the pooper scooper and a roll of dog poop bags."

"My dogs have a tendency to try to eat "kitty bon-bons" from the litterbox if I forget to keep the baby-gate up, so I had to use a litter that wouldn't be horrible if they ingested a few granules... Overall, there's a reason I've been using this litter for many years- it's safe, not too dusty, flushable, and priced well. ADDITIONS- *sigh* I really don't want to be preachy, but I have to ask- is the (albeit terrible) smell of kitty poo or pee really so traumatic that it's better to buy an inferior litter to simply suit your nostrils?"

"The first time was amazing, literally no dust and perfect clumps, now we get a ton of dust and my black cat looks like a coke addict when she climbs out of the litter box. I think it all depends on luck of the draw depending on how much your bag was tossed around before receiving it and also a bit of how often you change the litter in the box... The photo plays a bit of tricks on your eye, so just know that it is a long cylinder, tipped on its side, with a very flat and almost shiny bottom (which is actually facing up)."

"I have my first cat as an adult and I'm keeping it totally indoors - cats I had as a child we let outside during the day and so they almost never actually used the litter box in the house... I don't have enough experience to compare other litters but this seems on the more expensive side, though I give it some credit because the breeder I bought from was using it with her small 10-15 cat in-house cattery so I feel like she considered it value for money... Since I have it in an open area at the back of the house where the back door is often open I don't find that the box makes the rest of the house smell though I scoop it 1-2 times a day and replace it all (half a bag ~14lb) every 2-3 weeks."

Less Quick

"* I tried out World's Best because I wanted to stop using clay-based litters in favor of a biodegradable option that would be healthier for my cat. Prior to buying this product, I had read in one or two reviews that the litter is basically just chicken feed repackaged, and that you could get a bag of chick starter from a feed store for much less money... My cat isn't great at covering up anyway, but this litter doesn't cling to feces like sandy litter would, so the smell was going to be godawful either way. A few times when I didn't have time to carry the box into the bathroom to flush it, I used the scoop to cover it up like the lazy-butt cat should have done, and it didn't help... I had also read that you should freeze the chick starter for a few days to kill any vermin that might have gotten in there--obviously, World's Best would have done something to sanitize their litter, but the chicken feed company might not be as careful... It's a lot dustier out of the bag, and in fact, when I first opened it, my first thought was that I'd gotten the wrong chick feed and this wasn't going to work... I also found that it actually clumps urine better; if I catch it before she pees too many times, I can actually scoop up one pee clump and carry it to the bathroom without any spilling, which is great because I don't have to carry the big (it's huge, with high sides, because she kicks up a storm) box to the bathroom."

"Granted my cat is a digger, has long hair and big paws, and does tend to track litter, but this was way more than any other litter I had tried before... Every time he used the litter box (closed litterbox with a lid placed in a corner of the living room), he came out with dust all over his paws and face, walked to one of the rugs, and opened his paws to release tons of little corn bits all over the place... I don't know if it was the only reason for the clog but I'm sure it contributed since I had not had this problem before... Yes it's natural, and it reassured me that my cat was munching on corn bits instead of crystals or clay, and yes, it clumps very well and you can remove pee really easily, but that's pretty much all I liked about it... However I don't mind cleaning the box entirely at every change, and don't really care for clumping properties that much... It didn't clump, but pee was absorbed very well as long as there was enough litter in the box and that it was changed as needed (which was much less often than World's Best needed). There were some crystals tracked but seriously insignificant, and there was only some dust when I poured the crystal litter from the bag into the box."

"Half of the bag went into the VERY large Catit Litter Box (linked) Catit Jumbo Hooded Cat Litter Pan - Warm Gray and a refill one month later used another quarter of the original 28-lb bag... It seemed like she had runny poop at some point in the box, and this did not clump up like it did for pee. This was the first time since I purchased (3-4 months) it that I had to fully empty the box and refill it, which is honestly not bad... I use a long hallway mat as a litter mat, so floor tracking is minimal, but there is a significant amount of litter bits within ~1 ft of the box's entrance and a thick bit of dust within 2 in of the box's entrance. Slight dust tracking extends to a few feet from the box entrance, but none have made it onto my furniture since my cat likes to wipe her paws on the mat/carpet near the box... They used two smaller boxes, both filled with Precious Clumping Cat Litter (linked) Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 40 pound bag Precious clumps just as well and has significantly less dust, but the odor control is hideously lacking... The clay in Precious also tends to stick to the sides of the litterbox, leaving a smear when you try to scrape it off the sides, whereas WBCL removes itself cleanly and readily."

"We have been owned by many cats over the years, but none in the last decade. I dreaded having another stinky dusty litter box in the house, and hoped there had been advances in cat litter technology... Every cat box I ve ever had needed to be scooped at least once a day, and even with that, the odor was obvious... I wonder if people who have complained about odor may have male cats that have not been neutered, or may feed their cats a brand of food that stinks things up?... I keep about two inches of litter in the box, and that s been enough for him to do his business, without kicking litter out in every direction... Any dust or mess shows up in there, and I have not yet found any litter mess tracked around... The giant litter box I bought has two small built-in bins almost like plastic flatware baskets on a dish drainer that are just the right size for storing the pooper scooper and a roll of dog poop bags."

"My dogs have a tendency to try to eat "kitty bon-bons" from the litterbox if I forget to keep the baby-gate up, so I had to use a litter that wouldn't be horrible if they ingested a few granules. This causes no issues at all for them (though it's been a few years since they've had a "snack")... But all litters have some level of dust in my experience (except those clear pearl or crystal litters, which I think are too expensive and smell like urine super quickly). Overall, there's a reason I've been using this litter for many years- it's safe, not too dusty, flushable, and priced well. ADDITIONS- *sigh* I really don't want to be preachy, but I have to ask- is the (albeit terrible) smell of kitty poo or pee really so traumatic that it's better to buy an inferior litter to simply suit your nostrils?... No plastic bags used to collect waste and get tossed in a landfill, as it all gets flushed and sorted out at the treatment plant... A little stinkier maybe, but that's a small price to pay for a cat that may very well live a longer, healthier life."

We'll see how long that lasts and if it does start to show a noticeable difference as I get closer to the bottom, I'll make sure to revisit this post... I scooped out a perfect cylindrical clump from where my cat pee'd which made it all the way to the bottom... When I scooped it, it very easily pulled off the bottom of the pan without breaking up... The photo plays a bit of tricks on your eye, so just know that it is a long cylinder, tipped on its side, with a very flat and almost shiny bottom (which is actually facing up)... I'm still testing it on odor control but I haven't noticed anything so I'm thinking it's working good."

"I have my first cat as an adult and I'm keeping it totally indoors - cats I had as a child we let outside during the day and so they almost never actually used the litter box in the house. I got this litter because when I got my cat the small breeder I got him from told me it was what the cat was already used to it. My cat has been perfect in his litter box use since I got him (6 months now) so I really don't want to mess with that... I don't have enough experience to compare other litters but this seems on the more expensive side, though I give it some credit because the breeder I bought from was using it with her small 10-15 cat in-house cattery so I feel like she considered it value for money... Also IMO it isn't pervasive - if you get up close you can smell it but it doesn't spread through the house... Since I have it in an open area at the back of the house where the back door is often open I don't find that the box makes the rest of the house smell though I scoop it 1-2 times a day and replace it all (half a bag ~14lb) every 2-3 weeks... Unless your box it right by a toilet you are already scooping into bag so why not just put it in the trash."
