"I bought this watch because I figured I could replace the velcro strap when it gets all nasty and begins to lose its "velcroiness" but I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to.""The start/lap button is on the front of the watch, which helps to prevent hitting another button accidentally (when you squeeze the watch to engage a button on the side, you are putting pressure on the other side of the watch, which can engage another button and mess up your data)."
"Docked one star because it did not come with instructions and the band is kind of long where the strap end sticks out about an inch too far from the keeper (the little tab that holds the band in)."
"In all, I only hope that Timex knows what a winner this watch is, and that they have no plans for ending its production; but at least I've got another 5 years of use before I need to worry about it."
"Since one of the things I use my watch for is to get clear about what day of the week it is, this forced me to look for a replacement."
"The watch only has basic functions (timer, countdown, alarms, and reminder) so it is easy to learn to use."

"Timex watches have a countdown timer as a standard feature on their digital watches... It is not a big watch, but the digital face is big enough so you can quickly glance down and easily tell what time it is... I bought this watch because I figured I could replace the velcro strap when it gets all nasty and begins to lose its "velcroiness" but I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to."") If you don't know how the watch works, your watch will say Lap 18 (or whatever), you hit the button, and wonder why it still says Lap 18, and think the counter isn't working. Just remember that when you hit the button, whatever lap number it displays at that time is how many laps you have completed... The start/lap button is on the front of the watch, which helps to prevent hitting another button accidentally (when you squeeze the watch to engage a button on the side, you are putting pressure on the other side of the watch, which can engage another button and mess up your data)."
"I really liked white but was fearful it would get dirty easy or turn colors as other reviewers have stated... The "timer" option you have to set the total time and then it counts down when you start it. Docked one star because it did not come with instructions and the band is kind of long where the strap end sticks out about an inch too far from the keeper (the little tab that holds the band in)."
"I just purchased either my fourth or fifth one, as they last about 5 years before needing replacement... My only criticism of the watch was that on a couple of my older watches I had to replace them because the wrist strap broke from wear... In all, I only hope that Timex knows what a winner this watch is, and that they have no plans for ending its production; but at least I've got another 5 years of use before I need to worry about it."
"Since one of the things I use my watch for is to get clear about what day of the week it is, this forced me to look for a replacement... I know, so can every other watch and nowadays they are all equally good at it... As long as the other functions don't push themselves at me I don't mind that they are there."
"The watch only has basic functions (timer, countdown, alarms, and reminder) so it is easy to learn to use... I haven't accidentally pushed anything but you have to be intentional when switching modes or you might turn on the light etc..... However, this last item is purely personal and I don't think that not having it would bother anyone!"
"One of the primary reasons I bought this watch was so I could tell the time if/when I wake up in the middle of the night... I wanted something easy, and it was; I also wanted something that would last more than 11 months, and it didn't... ) to install the battery for me - without knowing ahead of time that it needs a new battery - or I cut my loses, and start to research *good* watches."

"I have two other watches I have been using and both had major faults... Timex watches have a countdown timer as a standard feature on their digital watches... It is not a big watch, but the digital face is big enough so you can quickly glance down and easily tell what time it is... I also like the start/split button in the middle of the watch... I have a SHARP watch and the glass is flush with the frame and it has 2 ugly scratches from me banging it against a door frame accidentally. I bought this watch because I figured I could replace the velcro strap when it gets all nasty and begins to lose its "velcroiness" but I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to... The plastic holder for the watch and the instruction book were in perfect condition, but the actual Timex box was ripped into 3 pieces.""So your watch shows Lap 01, you hit the lap button, and it still shows Lap 01, telling you you've completed one lap, and won't automatically roll over to Lap 02 for about 10 seconds or so... ) If you don't know how the watch works, your watch will say Lap 18 (or whatever), you hit the button, and wonder why it still says Lap 18, and think the counter isn't working. Just remember that when you hit the button, whatever lap number it displays at that time is how many laps you have completed... I know the stopwatch is running because the seconds go up, but then I'm forced to stare at it until it switches over if I want to know what lap it is... The start/lap button is on the front of the watch, which helps to prevent hitting another button accidentally (when you squeeze the watch to engage a button on the side, you are putting pressure on the other side of the watch, which can engage another button and mess up your data). You can't extend your arms on a pool turn while you are hitting the button, but it's not that big of a deal... I have small wrists for my size, but it's not too big."
"I really liked white but was fearful it would get dirty easy or turn colors as other reviewers have stated... It didn't come with instructions so I've been trying to figure out all the features without them. I will try and look online for something because there's a few things I don't fully understand... The "timer" option you have to set the total time and then it counts down when you start it. Docked one star because it did not come with instructions and the band is kind of long where the strap end sticks out about an inch too far from the keeper (the little tab that holds the band in). You can see it sticking out in the picture I attached showing how the light up feature looks... Anyhow this works well, looks nice and I think it's a decent size."
"I just purchased either my fourth or fifth one, as they last about 5 years before needing replacement... Last watch died after getting wet following a battery replacement. It's easy to replace the battery (you need a jeweler's screw driver) but if it's going to be exposed to water submersion, screws on the back of the watch need to be double checked for tightness. (Before the battery replacement the watch was water tight and had no leakage problems... My only criticism of the watch was that on a couple of my older watches I had to replace them because the wrist strap broke from wear. That did not happen on my most recent watch after, even after 6 or 7 years. In all, I only hope that Timex knows what a winner this watch is, and that they have no plans for ending its production; but at least I've got another 5 years of use before I need to worry about it."
"I have had ironman watches before... Since one of the things I use my watch for is to get clear about what day of the week it is, this forced me to look for a replacement... ] This watch has a slightly better display than my previous one... I know, so can every other watch and nowadays they are all equally good at it... I, like all true patriots, am overweight, so I should have a use for this, but in practice I don't. I don't run or swim, the likely activities that might make a lap counter useful... As long as the other functions don't push themselves at me I don't mind that they are there."
"The numbers are very easy to read since they are so large and the contrast is clear. The watch only has basic functions (timer, countdown, alarms, and reminder) so it is easy to learn to use... I haven't accidentally pushed anything but you have to be intentional when switching modes or you might turn on the light etc..... I would also like to see a 10 sec timer on the primary display that continuously runs. However, this last item is purely personal and I don't think that not having it would bother anyone!... I've had Casio G-Shocks which I love dearly and this is right there with them. If you need a clean, easy-to-read watch for various activities or daily wear you would be very happy with this product!"
"I had an earlier version of this watch that lasted for years and that I liked a lot... Two nights ago the face illumination (the "Indiglo Light-Up Watch Dial") stopped working. One of the primary reasons I bought this watch was so I could tell the time if/when I wake up in the middle of the night. My eyesight isn't the greatest, and I can't see the time on the alarm clock on the other side of the bed without putting on my glasses. I wanted something easy, and it was; I also wanted something that would last more than 11 months, and it didn't... ) to install the battery for me - without knowing ahead of time that it needs a new battery - or I cut my loses, and start to research *good* watches... But I will not buy another, and I do not recommend it."
