"The CONS however are just too much for me, arrived late despite being ordered on prime, awkward sized straw that leaves water left in the bottle, hard mouth piece that makes drinking awkward and sometimes even painful, and impossible lid with seams don't line up and leave water to drip out over all your belongings.""I just know I have two lids that have been great for a few years, justifying the steep price tag; and another from Amazon, same price but garbage after a few months."
"the lid threads, 1/2 turn to lock stinks (I have dropped mine a more than a few times thinking it was sealed)come on make them the same as 30 year old Nalgene bottles that we all have a dozens of, sure be nice to have an extra it the lid fails."
"Then I noticed that it did not form tight enough of a seal to get a continuous flow of water through the straw, it was intermixed with air so it would take you a long time to drink as much water as you needed."
"After using it I can say that there is a reason the grey one has the softer mouthpiece, even if it is tempting to chew, because this black one hits your teeth and is not very comfortable."
"When I tried to suck water out, I'd did nothing but bubble with air and there was a drop of water that would come through here and there..."
"The one negative that I have found with this lid is that whenever I have my bottle full of ice and water, and I have not touched it for half an hour or more, somehow water builds up and fills the little rectangle with the mouthpiece."

"I bought my Hydro Flask in effort to drink more water and loved it instantly but wasn't so sure about having to constantly screw the top on off, so I bought this straw for it and honestly I wish I hadn't... Then the next day while traveling to work I found out the seam again hadn't been put on JUST RIGHT (a place I'm starting to think does not in fact exist for this lid) and it leaked water all over my belonging including my entire planner (just my whole life in there, nothing important or anything)... The CONS however are just too much for me, arrived late despite being ordered on prime, awkward sized straw that leaves water left in the bottle, hard mouth piece that makes drinking awkward and sometimes even painful, and impossible lid with seams don't line up and leave water to drip out over all your belongings.""Surprised, I checked it out a little more carefully, and I noticed several differences: 1) The other lids have the registered trademark symbol after the words "Hydro Flask" in the prominent oval on the lid... So, 1 star: because first I'm extremely annoyed my kid has been drinking through a moldy mouthpiece, because second a $10+ LID ought to last more than a couple months, because third I don't like scams!... I just know I have two lids that have been great for a few years, justifying the steep price tag; and another from Amazon, same price but garbage after a few months."
"The first (and all my bottles) I bought direct from HydroFlask, it happened to be the "grey" version, as with others the grey "rubber" material at the mouthpiece started falling apart after only a few months... I replaced the failed grey straw lid with the "new" black one (from REI because I wanted to see it before I bought it)... the lid threads, 1/2 turn to lock stinks (I have dropped mine a more than a few times thinking it was sealed)come on make them the same as 30 year old Nalgene bottles that we all have a dozens of, sure be nice to have an extra it the lid fails."
"Then I noticed that it did not form tight enough of a seal to get a continuous flow of water through the straw, it was intermixed with air so it would take you a long time to drink as much water as you needed... Retrieving the broken straw, I assumed that the breaking of the straw was what had caused the poor water flow, but I placed the other end of the straw on the nozzle of the lid, being careful not to jam it on all the way, and it still had the same issue... Especially considering how durable the bottle (I've seen them thrown against concrete surfaces and survive with at most a dent or a scratch) and the standard lids are, it is ridiculous that Hydro Flask couldn't or wouldn't design a more durable lid than this existing product."
"After using it I can say that there is a reason the grey one has the softer mouthpiece, even if it is tempting to chew, because this black one hits your teeth and is not very comfortable. I could get over that eventually, but it is already showing signs of wear where the black is chipping off the mouthpiece... I threw it in my car as I've done so many times with the other one and by the time I got to the post office it had leaked all over my outgoing mail."
"When I received it in the mail, I noticed there was a measuring thing on the cardboard telling you to cut the straw to whatever length depending on the ounces of your hydroflask..... I was all sorts of excited, and so I put the lid on, flipped the mouthpiece up and tried getting some water out of it and nothing. When I tried to suck water out, I'd did nothing but bubble with air and there was a drop of water that would come through here and there..."
"As far as cleaning goes, I haven't had too much of an issue because I only drink water from my bottle so its not a big hassle to make sure the straw is clean. The one negative that I have found with this lid is that whenever I have my bottle full of ice and water, and I have not touched it for half an hour or more, somehow water builds up and fills the little rectangle with the mouthpiece... It should also go without saying, but I have seen some people complaining about the straws being too long."

"I bought my Hydro Flask in effort to drink more water and loved it instantly but wasn't so sure about having to constantly screw the top on off, so I bought this straw for it and honestly I wish I hadn't. First of all, it arrived 2 full days after my water bottle did (they were ordered at the same time) annoying but OK things happen... When I got to the bottom of my flask there was about a cm of water left that the straw couldn't get, blaming it on my cutting skills I re-cut the 2nd straw only to have the same issue... One, they do not screw on quite as easily as you would hope, the cap that came with my bottle screws on fine, but this one never happens to go on right or tight enough... Then the next day while traveling to work I found out the seam again hadn't been put on JUST RIGHT (a place I'm starting to think does not in fact exist for this lid) and it leaked water all over my belonging including my entire planner (just my whole life in there, nothing important or anything). I am gladly swapping back to the original cap my bottle came with, which not only seals perfectly every time but feels infinitely better quality than this plastic piece of junk straw... The CONS however are just too much for me, arrived late despite being ordered on prime, awkward sized straw that leaves water left in the bottle, hard mouth piece that makes drinking awkward and sometimes even painful, and impossible lid with seams don't line up and leave water to drip out over all your belongings.""The actual Hydro Flask straw lids are 5 star awesome, but I believe the product I received from this Amazon listing is a fake... Surprised, I checked it out a little more carefully, and I noticed several differences: 1) The other lids have the registered trademark symbol after the words "Hydro Flask" in the prominent oval on the lid. That symbol is not present on the lid I got from Amazon (you don't see it in the picture, either... It may be only of aesthetic significance, but there are ridges from injection molding and irregularities in the mouthpiece... I assure you, it's not like this bottle sat around for a week with juice in it...
I replaced the failed grey straw lid with the "new" black one (from REI because I wanted to see it before I bought it). Well I like the material, it definitely won't fail the same as the "grey" model BUT the problem with this one, the flip spout doesn't seal properly!... I really want to like these overpriced "thermos" bottles, I really do, but these guys need to get their act together: 1... the lid threads, 1/2 turn to lock stinks (I have dropped mine a more than a few times thinking it was sealed)come on make them the same as 30 year old Nalgene bottles that we all have a dozens of, sure be nice to have an extra it the lid fails... the screw lids, I will say it again 1/2 turn to lock stinks, and try getting that silicone gasket out to clean it, forget about it... While I do like their thermal properties, my suggestion is to keep your eyes peeled for something else."
"This lid has no vacuum insulation unlike the standard lid that comes with the bottle, however that is likely a necessary component of any straw lid... The big flaw that made me want to return the thing almost immediately was the fact that after you cut the straw to the proper length, it is easy to misunderstand how to attach the straw and do damage to it by putting the straw onto the lid nozzle all the way... Then I noticed that it did not form tight enough of a seal to get a continuous flow of water through the straw, it was intermixed with air so it would take you a long time to drink as much water as you needed... Retrieving the broken straw, I assumed that the breaking of the straw was what had caused the poor water flow, but I placed the other end of the straw on the nozzle of the lid, being careful not to jam it on all the way, and it still had the same issue... On top of that the lid was now making a very loud noise as I sucked on it, which is not great when you're taking it to work and want to avoid disturbing other people... I don't expect this lid to be invincible, but I do not think it is too much to ask that it be able to survive a single fall from a person's hand to the floor they are standing on. Especially considering how durable the bottle (I've seen them thrown against concrete surfaces and survive with at most a dent or a scratch) and the standard lids are, it is ridiculous that Hydro Flask couldn't or wouldn't design a more durable lid than this existing product."
"I bought this one because the description said "bite resistant" and my original lid needed replacing because I bit it, often, (yes I am guilty) and it cracked... Anyway, this arrived yesterday and I immediately noticed how hard it was to screw on to my hydroflask. Eventually I get it on and i tipped it upside down a few times and it didn't leak so I thought it was good to go. After using it I can say that there is a reason the grey one has the softer mouthpiece, even if it is tempting to chew, because this black one hits your teeth and is not very comfortable. I could get over that eventually, but it is already showing signs of wear where the black is chipping off the mouthpiece... aesthetically not great and also not very promising for longevity but again, I could get over it... I threw it in my car as I've done so many times with the other one and by the time I got to the post office it had leaked all over my outgoing mail."
"When I received it in the mail, I noticed there was a measuring thing on the cardboard telling you to cut the straw to whatever length depending on the ounces of your hydroflask..... hydroflask, and measurements told me that I didn't have to cut it at all.... So, I put the straw together on he lid and everything (and yes, I do know how to assemble putting a straw on the suction part where the water is supposed to come up into the mouth piece)... I was all sorts of excited, and so I put the lid on, flipped the mouthpiece up and tried getting some water out of it and nothing. When I tried to suck water out, I'd did nothing but bubble with air and there was a drop of water that would come through here and there..... Come to find out that the mouthpiece WHERE THE STRAW AND MOUTHPIECE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CONNECTED WEREN'T SEALED PROPERLY... So I'm not sure if I got a faulty set or what, but I was not pleased with this item..."
