Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush

Very Quick

"I've had two labs and have had the best luck with the 'flat' style brushes until now, but those never seemed to remove the 'clumps' of hair they can get near their back legs very well."

"this brush after one stroke had him trying to get away from me, and he loves being brushed??"

"I considered actually taking the brush apart, but I'm pretty sure this is one of those things that will come apart but never go back together."

"Unlike the ShedMonster, she purrs every time I use this on her and actually lets me brush her without fighting it."

"I love this one because it's SUPER easy to use and clean, my dog likes being brushed with it (though not on some areas of his body like his ears and legs) and it really helps minimize the shedding."

"The only drawback in design is that I think it would be much more convenient if you could lock the spikes on the outward setting and then unlock to release for cleaning or storage instead of having to hold down the button to have the spikes out during grooming- this can become tiresome if you have multiple dogs to groom in one setting or a large breed with a thick coat."

"My boy ragdoll even lets me brush his belly (he likes belly rubs anyway) where he forms most of his mats so while we cut the worst of them out, sometimes they form too close to the skin to get them all so I use this brush to loosen them up while I wait for the fur to grow out to snip the rest of the mat out."

"I've had two labs and have had the best luck with the 'flat' style brushes until now, but those never seemed to remove the 'clumps' of hair they can get near their back legs very well... I've had this brush for a few months now and use it roughly every two weeks--this is hands down the best brush I've ever used on a lab!... It's SO easy to clean---just brush until it's full, press the button, remove the hair (either one quick swipe with your hand, or just shake it in most cases), press the button again and continue!"

"this brush after one stroke had him trying to get away from me, and he loves being brushed??... so I'm just totally baffled why anyone would put their pet/family through such a thing... Wish this review would be the one u actually see but probably not."

"* Purchased this Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush from A1ProDeals in December 2016, so have had it now for about a year and a half... I considered actually taking the brush apart, but I'm pretty sure this is one of those things that will come apart but never go back together... This slicker does a great job removing hair from and grooming my lab-beagle mix and he seems to tolerate it pretty well; just don't push too hard - those little wires are SHARP."

"Unlike the ShedMonster, she purrs every time I use this on her and actually lets me brush her without fighting it... That's when you know you have a good quality brush that is as described - the pets love it - it probably feels like a good massage to them... They will like being brushed, it will reduce shedding, and the clean up is as easy and efficient as it gets."

":( See original review below We have an 80lb labradoodle who has a longer coat, sheds like a nightmare and has very itchy skin... We have and used a furminator which makes a big difference, but I find this brush much easier/more comfortable to use and nearly as effective!... I love this one because it's SUPER easy to use and clean, my dog likes being brushed with it (though not on some areas of his body like his ears and legs) and it really helps minimize the shedding."

"* The Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush was just what we needed and for a great price!... The only drawback in design is that I think it would be much more convenient if you could lock the spikes on the outward setting and then unlock to release for cleaning or storage instead of having to hold down the button to have the spikes out during grooming- this can become tiresome if you have multiple dogs to groom in one setting or a large breed with a thick coat. *About two months of use the brush would not engage when I pressed the button, but a few taps on a hard surface popped everything back into place and it has worked perfectly ever since."

"My 2 ragdoll kitties did not like the Furminator, and I've found out that that brush is notorious for pulling hair directly out of their skin instead of actually brushing... I love the retractable bristles, makes cleaning the brush a breeze (however fur still gets everywhere and I have to vacuum after I brush them). My boy ragdoll even lets me brush his belly (he likes belly rubs anyway) where he forms most of his mats so while we cut the worst of them out, sometimes they form too close to the skin to get them all so I use this brush to loosen them up while I wait for the fur to grow out to snip the rest of the mat out."

"* I've had dogs for years now, and have had a variety of different brushes for them. I've had two labs and have had the best luck with the 'flat' style brushes until now, but those never seemed to remove the 'clumps' of hair they can get near their back legs very well... I've had this brush for a few months now and use it roughly every two weeks--this is hands down the best brush I've ever used on a lab! The button is a tad flimsy in that it doesn't lock all the time, or may take a try or two to get it to lock in, but it's continued working since I've had it... The amount of hair this thing removes is just incredible---it may be the same as any slicker style brush, but the fact that the slickers are detract-able changes the game. It's SO easy to clean---just brush until it's full, press the button, remove the hair (either one quick swipe with your hand, or just shake it in most cases), press the button again and continue! If you own a lab (or similarly haired dog) that is constantly shedding I can't recommend this enough."

"this brush after one stroke had him trying to get away from me, and he loves being brushed?? So I calm him down and look and there are FRE@KING bloody scratches on his skin beneith the fur coat... I don't know how it got the good reviews or so many stars... so I'm just totally baffled why anyone would put their pet/family through such a thing... Like I said my fault for loosing it before returning window closed but it wasn't for me... Go buy a FURminator brush please, I'm not a rep but love the brush and rake they make. Wish this review would be the one u actually see but probably not."

"* Purchased this Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush from A1ProDeals in December 2016, so have had it now for about a year and a half. Should have reviewed it sooner, but if I had I probably wouldn't have given it a full five stars. Shortly after receiving and using it, it became increasingly difficult to retract the wire bristles to clean it (as some of the negative reviews had warned). I had to push so hard that I was sure something was going to break. My solution: I sprayed pure silicone spray into the brush with the bristles retracted, then sprayed a stream of silicon around the push-button, hoping it would reach the retracting mechanism inside.

The bristles go in with a simple click of the button and the hair is simple to brush away... The Tripod actually lets me brush her - first time I've been able to do this in five years. That's when you know you have a good quality brush that is as described - the pets love it - it probably feels like a good massage to them... Now my maine coon can sit on my lap and I won't have that much fur left on me at all... I would recommend this for any cat or dog you may have. They will like being brushed, it will reduce shedding, and the clean up is as easy and efficient as it gets."

"It broke (the bristles no longer retract) about a month ago and we threw it away. :( See original review below We have an 80lb labradoodle who has a longer coat, sheds like a nightmare and has very itchy skin... We have and used a furminator which makes a big difference, but I find this brush much easier/more comfortable to use and nearly as effective!... I love this one because it's SUPER easy to use and clean, my dog likes being brushed with it (though not on some areas of his body like his ears and legs) and it really helps minimize the shedding... This brush isn't has heavy duty/sturdy as the furminator and definitely feels more cheaply made, but so far I'm a fan!... I can definitely recommend this brush for big dogs with longer coats who shed!... Just trying to help other pet parents spend their money wisely."

"My 2 ragdoll kitties did not like the Furminator, and I've found out that that brush is notorious for pulling hair directly out of their skin instead of actually brushing. The blade-edge of metal teeth is not a good brush for cats, I can see how it would work well for coarse-coated dogs like huskies or chows though. I love the retractable bristles, makes cleaning the brush a breeze (however fur still gets everywhere and I have to vacuum after I brush them). My boy ragdoll even lets me brush his belly (he likes belly rubs anyway) where he forms most of his mats so while we cut the worst of them out, sometimes they form too close to the skin to get them all so I use this brush to loosen them up while I wait for the fur to grow out to snip the rest of the mat out. I've attached a screenshot not of my kitties, not of the brush nor the amount of fluff we get off of them, but of the description of this item: it says "DILDO" and I found that hilarious. Hertzko, what's up with that? Of course I can't leave y'all without kitty photos so here are my two monsters, miraculously coexisting in the same spot without trying to kill each other."
