"When wearing the full face, I find that their nose and mouth guards are MUCH more breathable than anything I've tried in the past but also warm enough that I can catch my breath.""I absolutely love the mesh part around the mouth because it does a great job of blocking air so I don t feel the burn from breathing in frigid air yet it allows enough airflow that it doesn t get completely drenched from the humid air of my breath."
"I chose this one over several others because I did not want something that was going to cling to my head, face and neck, like some others I looked at."
"* I did a lot of research before buying this with my husband out in the cold most of the time he needed something that really would keep him warm."
"It is cut to pull down over your neck and formed for your shoulders and you can pull the elastic face top and bottom to cover virtually all of your exposed skin, leaving just enough of an opening to see through."
"I have never, ever worn anything around my nose and mouth that didn't fog my glasses, so no surprise there."
"But, on a cruiser like mine, with no windshield, faring or, anything else to deflect the cold wind and, preferring to ride with nothing but a half-shell helm and riding glasses, you have to have something to keep those icy winds from direct skin contact or, your ride isn t going to be all that comfortable."

"I also help a groundskeeper at an estate, which can be just as inactive, but even when you are active, your face can freeze!... My preferred type was the bandana with velcro in back at the nape of my neck, but it twists too much or too suffocating when worn for long periods (I can't stand to have my mouth and nose covered too long)... When wearing the full face, I find that their nose and mouth guards are MUCH more breathable than anything I've tried in the past but also warm enough that I can catch my breath.""* I have been using this product for the past 5 months in temps that average around 17 degrees Fahrenheit with about an 8 degree windchill... I absolutely love the mesh part around the mouth because it does a great job of blocking air so I don t feel the burn from breathing in frigid air yet it allows enough airflow that it doesn t get completely drenched from the humid air of my breath... While it does get a little moist around the mouth after about 15 minutes it is nowhere near as bad as if you had just used a regular piece of cloth for covering."
"The area around your mouth and nose is quite thin, which allows you to breath easily without worrying about fogging up your googles. Side note: this area is made in a way to allow you to breath easily while still protecting your face from wind and the chill in the air... I chose this one over several others because I did not want something that was going to cling to my head, face and neck, like some others I looked at."
"* I did a lot of research before buying this with my husband out in the cold most of the time he needed something that really would keep him warm... The size fits great from him to me it fit snug, l love that you can use it in many different ways coving what part of your head or face you want. You can wear a hat with it, it isn t too bulky I was worried about breathing with this you have no trouble it is vented very well making breathing easy but still keeps wind out."
"It is cut to pull down over your neck and formed for your shoulders and you can pull the elastic face top and bottom to cover virtually all of your exposed skin, leaving just enough of an opening to see through... Perhaps if out longer than that, you might want to also put an additional cap on your head, but it does keep your face and neck well protected. When I wear it, I can't tell if I look more like a ninja or and ISIS fighter (lol) so I do get some looks out there, but this an essential garment if you don't like the sensation of your face hurting or the risk of frostbite."
"Once I started shoveling, I pulled the front down under my chin and that felt comfortable, too... Also, someone had claimed that their glasses never fogged up wearing this... I have never, ever worn anything around my nose and mouth that didn't fog my glasses, so no surprise there."

"That frigid air goes right through you, and if hit in the face, it takes your breath away. I also help a groundskeeper at an estate, which can be just as inactive, but even when you are active, your face can freeze! Well, I have tried other styles of face/neck warmers but have not quite found one I like too much. My preferred type was the bandana with velcro in back at the nape of my neck, but it twists too much or too suffocating when worn for long periods (I can't stand to have my mouth and nose covered too long)... When wearing the full face, I find that their nose and mouth guards are MUCH more breathable than anything I've tried in the past but also warm enough that I can catch my breath... I usually wear a bandana on my head underneath, whether I'm wearing this N-Ferno Hat or any other thermal hat, skully, etc... It's my only peeve with this thing, and if it doesn't improve, I'll be dropping another star.""* I have been using this product for the past 5 months in temps that average around 17 degrees Fahrenheit with about an 8 degree windchill... In the Winter once the temps dropped below 30 degrees I found that my face was always feeling numb and my mouth and lungs hurt as I did my activities outdoors. I then started covering my face with a bandana but after about 6 minutes of heavy breathing, the bandana gets soaked. It also only provides a covering from the wind and not any extra warmth... I absolutely love the mesh part around the mouth because it does a great job of blocking air so I don t feel the burn from breathing in frigid air yet it allows enough airflow that it doesn t get completely drenched from the humid air of my breath... While it does get a little moist around the mouth after about 15 minutes it is nowhere near as bad as if you had just used a regular piece of cloth for covering. This balaclava was the missing link in my life and now I can freely walk and move around in the cold and I don t even notice it!"
"I researched balaclavas online, because I don t like buying anything that I haven t read reviews about first, and decided to order this one... I wore it on on and off while skiing because it was a warmer day than expected. The area around your mouth and nose is quite thin, which allows you to breath easily without worrying about fogging up your googles. Side note: this area is made in a way to allow you to breath easily while still protecting your face from wind and the chill in the air... I chose this one over several others because I did not want something that was going to cling to my head, face and neck, like some others I looked at. I liked that it was loose enough to where I didn t feel like I was wearing a turtle neck (I can t stand those!... It fit well under my ski helmet and was warm enough that I did not need to wear my Columbia tobaggan underneath."
"* I did a lot of research before buying this with my husband out in the cold most of the time he needed something that really would keep him warm... This year has been a very bitter winter in VA this is a must if you are out in the cold... The size fits great from him to me it fit snug, l love that you can use it in many different ways coving what part of your head or face you want. You can wear a hat with it, it isn t too bulky I was worried about breathing with this you have no trouble it is vented very well making breathing easy but still keeps wind out... My husband wears glasses and so far he does not have any issues, if this becomes a problem I will update. Bottom line it keeps your head and face warm through any cold weather that we have come across. Fits snug, light weight, easy to put on, you can wear it many different ways for whatever your needs are."
"I live in Chicago and we just got through a 12 day stretch without cracking a high of 20 ... This was all I needed for several dog walks each day and other errands. It is cut to pull down over your neck and formed for your shoulders and you can pull the elastic face top and bottom to cover virtually all of your exposed skin, leaving just enough of an opening to see through. There is a special breathable fabric around the nose and mouth to keep from getting overheated. I never felt cold wearing for spans up to 30 minutes in those harsh conditions with high wind chill making it feel up to -40.
"* I tried one of these for the first time today while snowblowing... It stayed up around my nose without feeling too tight or scratchy, and kept my face and neck warm enough. Once I started shoveling, I pulled the front down under my chin and that felt comfortable, too... I can understand that for using this as a neck gaiter, you wouldn't want a bulky hat... Also, someone had claimed that their glasses never fogged up wearing this. Mine fogged up pretty good, but it may have had something to do with having my hood up. I have never, ever worn anything around my nose and mouth that didn't fog my glasses, so no surprise there."

I purchased and tried a handful of different balaclava, some of those being far more expensive, before finally finding the N-Ferno 6823... Wearing nothing but my half-helm, riding glasses and this balaclava, my face/head is well protected from the cold wind... Honestly, I feel more cold penetrate through my multi-layer riding gloves than my face feels behind just this single balaclava. If you re a cold weather rider like me and you re looking for a quality piece of headgear to keep those chilly winds off your bare skin, you can t go wrong with this balaclava. And, at such an incredible price, you can buy 2 (or more) so, you can always have one ready while washing another."
