CBI MLC20 Low Z XLR Microphone Cable, 20 Foot

Very Quick

"The fit between the strain relief and the cable is not tight enough, and I wouldn't be surprised to have cables fail because they get pulled out of the connector if used in a standard application."

"And many cables connectors have the same issue this one has."

"As a control, I used a cable that was several years old in the same set up and it worked fine."

"Granted, they're not the best, most professional option out there, but I haven't had a problem with any of them yet."

"The construction is not as stellar as some higher end cables, but you get what you pay for."

"I picked these up and have been more than happy with their ability to transmit clear sound to my mixing board."

"I tried my singers mic to see if maybe it was just the EV brand for some reason but same problem on his Shure mic."

"The fit between the strain relief and the cable is not tight enough, and I wouldn't be surprised to have cables fail because they get pulled out of the connector if used in a standard application... The actual cable would be too thin to use with other connectors, and I don't think the connectors are of high enough quality to be used to repair other cables... The noise from these cables was surprisingly average, with them louder than some, and quieter than others."

"Music major with band experience, I also have been hosting an open mic for 5 years now... And many cables connectors have the same issue this one has... I'm sure a 2nd hand store or music store going out of business would have it cheaper and better made, but those are hard to find."

"Foolishly, I stored them in my truck without testing them; they are now well past the return window... As a control, I used a cable that was several years old in the same set up and it worked fine... So if you want a bargain you may get lucky, but I will spend a little more from now on."

"I bought a few of these cables and will be ordering some more now that I've had some time to test them... Granted, they're not the best, most professional option out there, but I haven't had a problem with any of them yet. They are easy to handle, don't supply any feedback or noise, and work great overall."

"If you are looking for some replacement or backup XLR cable at a great price, look no further. This cable has no bells and whistles, but it gets the job done... The construction is not as stellar as some higher end cables, but you get what you pay for."

"I have a small home studio which required new cables for 9 microphones and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to do it. I picked these up and have been more than happy with their ability to transmit clear sound to my mixing board. I wouldn't dream of using them as a gig cables as some flaws with the construction of them were quickly evident, the cord grips on the ends leave a lot to be desired."

"Thought maybe it was the mic at first but tried other cables and those clicked in no problem... I tried my singers mic to see if maybe it was just the EV brand for some reason but same problem on his Shure mic... I honestly only bought this because I wanted to hit the Free Shipping price from Amazon."

"I didn't say they were thinner gauge than other cables, because it looks and feels to me as though the jacket is actually thinner than most, and that the conductors may possibly be similar gauge. I don't know if that's actually the case, but it's just a guess on my part... The fit between the strain relief and the cable is not tight enough, and I wouldn't be surprised to have cables fail because they get pulled out of the connector if used in a standard application... The actual cable would be too thin to use with other connectors, and I don't think the connectors are of high enough quality to be used to repair other cables... The noise from these cables was surprisingly average, with them louder than some, and quieter than others. I can recommend these for low-stress applications like mine, or maybe for people who take very good care of their gear... If these sound like they will match your needs, give them a shot."

"Music major with band experience, I also have been hosting an open mic for 5 years now... And many cables connectors have the same issue this one has. Tiny cheap metal screws that are short, to hold the entire structure together... If you are in a pinch for $$, like I was when I made this purchase. You wont be disappointed at the $ to quality value of this product... I'm sure a 2nd hand store or music store going out of business would have it cheaper and better made, but those are hard to find. As music stores are going the way of specialized product support, as places like Amazon and musicians friend take over their business."

"I have my own band and also sometimes do live sound for other acts. Purchased two of these thinking they would make good back up cables in case of problems on a gig. Foolishly, I stored them in my truck without testing them; they are now well past the return window... As a control, I used a cable that was several years old in the same set up and it worked fine. The connections on the new mics were way loose in both cases, despite the fact that a heavily used one was tight. As a result, I will be forced to cut off both ends and turn them into instrument cables. So if you want a bargain you may get lucky, but I will spend a little more from now on."

"If you are looking for some replacement or backup XLR cable at a great price, look no further. This cable has no bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. I used it to mic up my drumset for a recent gig and found no hissing or cracking at all... The construction is not as stellar as some higher end cables, but you get what you pay for. Will they last forever?... But at this price, you can afford to replace a cable if you need to. I highly recommend them."

"Female end doesn't snap into my vocal mic... It did produce sound but would constantly fall out of mic. Thought maybe it was the mic at first but tried other cables and those clicked in no problem. I use a EV vocal mic, forgot the model, but it's a really popular one. I tried my singers mic to see if maybe it was just the EV brand for some reason but same problem on his Shure mic. Could have maybe just been bad luck with my cable but I wouldn't risk it. I honestly only bought this because I wanted to hit the Free Shipping price from Amazon."
