"When set on a table it's at just about the perfect height for recording * Surprisingly good sound quality, especially for a mike this light-weight and low-priced * Neat little table tripod stand, easy to set up and use * Comes with generous-length cable CONS: None really.""I could suppress noise made with the Creative headset with my audio/video editing software, but the noise would not suppress when the recording was done by the CAD mic."
"Remember to adjust these settings when you use the mic (in fact bookmark this page if u need to, so you don't forget and wonder why your mic isn't working as it is supposed to): Like all mics its settings is not automatically adjusted to whatever your voice is ( a beginner's assumption) you have to go to the settings and mess with it to see what works best for you."
"Because this mic doesn't have a mute switch (which was admittedly my fault for not reading carefully enough, whoops), I had to unplug it every time I stopped using it, because even when it was muted in the mixer, my streaming software was still picking up audio from it."
"I have yet to re-record any of my demos, all of which were done on the CAD, and I continue to get very positive feedback about sound quality, my voice, and how professional it makes me sound."
"I find this to be a very useful feature, as you're able to customize your levels and thus have the ability to record a wide range of productions; for example, at it's most sensitive settings ( AGC ticked 'on' and maximum input gain), I was able to listen to -both sides- of a telephone conversation taking place roughly 20 feet away, and at the opposite end of the settings/gain spectrum I was able to record clear, crisp conversational-level voice while all the usual household background noises (such as a nearby TV, family members rustling about, PC tower/fan noises etc) were barely noticeable in the recording."
"I do recommend if you are going to be recording song vocals (As I do) to first get some kind of booth to isolate The vocals so you will hear a more crisp sound."

"When set on a table it's at just about the perfect height for recording * Surprisingly good sound quality, especially for a mike this light-weight and low-priced * Neat little table tripod stand, easy to set up and use * Comes with generous-length cable CONS: None really... So that along with this mike and free downloaded software provides a good recording environment that will suit the needs of many users... However if you're on a limited budget and want GOOD results and would like a USB mike that plugs right into your computer, I don't believe this can be beat.""Mic feels great in the hand, but sound quality always 100% of the time has high background noise - sounds like street "roar" or white background noise (all windows were closed and no noise was coming from outside... And while they're at it, fix the packaging problem and consider including - wait for it - instructions - so your customers actually know how to use your products."
"I almost ripped the stand legs apart cause I couldn't figure out how to spread them but they should open up easily if you done right... Remember to adjust these settings when you use the mic (in fact bookmark this page if u need to, so you don't forget and wonder why your mic isn't working as it is supposed to): Like all mics its settings is not automatically adjusted to whatever your voice is ( a beginner's assumption) you have to go to the settings and mess with it to see what works best for you. like other people have repeatedly said adjust it to (_) and (-10) to lower the sensitivity If you want to hear yourself while you record: right click on the speaker button on ur tool bar, then once you get to Sound settings go to the "Recording" tab and right click "Speakers (C-Media USB Audio Device)"."
"The first is one that other reviewers have mentioned-- you know, theo ne where it mutes all of the system sounds?... Because this mic doesn't have a mute switch (which was admittedly my fault for not reading carefully enough, whoops), I had to unplug it every time I stopped using it, because even when it was muted in the mixer, my streaming software was still picking up audio from it. I was able to plug it back in a few days later and use it as usual, but the next time I unplugged/replugged (and this was spaced out over a few days, trust me, I know better than to quickly pull things in and out of USB ports by now), the mic suddenly stopped working again."
"I am a long time singer and a currently working voice actor; and this was my first microphone when I had gotten started with voice acting... I have yet to re-record any of my demos, all of which were done on the CAD, and I continue to get very positive feedback about sound quality, my voice, and how professional it makes me sound... Now, That all being said, if you are a singer it probably is NOT the best microphone for you."
"While it's true that this USB microphone is "plug and play" in the sense that the drivers installed to Win 8 instantly and correctly, I feel some reviewers may not understand that once it is installed, settings and levels must be adjusted to suit your recording environment and needs. I find this to be a very useful feature, as you're able to customize your levels and thus have the ability to record a wide range of productions; for example, at it's most sensitive settings ( AGC ticked 'on' and maximum input gain), I was able to listen to -both sides- of a telephone conversation taking place roughly 20 feet away, and at the opposite end of the settings/gain spectrum I was able to record clear, crisp conversational-level voice while all the usual household background noises (such as a nearby TV, family members rustling about, PC tower/fan noises etc) were barely noticeable in the recording. For those who are expecting to be able to hear what is sung or spoken into the microphone in real-time without any delays, understand that this will not be possible with current USB technology, you'll need to get something with a little more power."
"I do recommend if you are going to be recording song vocals (As I do) to first get some kind of booth to isolate The vocals so you will hear a more crisp sound... I have found wrapping the microphone in paper towels (about 3 layers) will work for filtering "Pop" sounds... This is a very sensitive microphone which is often perceived as "bad" quality as you can see from some of the reviews."

"When set on a table it's at just about the perfect height for recording * Surprisingly good sound quality, especially for a mike this light-weight and low-priced * Neat little table tripod stand, easy to set up and use * Comes with generous-length cable CONS: None really... It is really, really, really sensitive and will pick up all sounds in the room-- including computer fans and a small 10" room fan I had set on low about 6 feet away... So that along with this mike and free downloaded software provides a good recording environment that will suit the needs of many users... It has very good sound recording, but there are better mikes on the market if your budget allows. However if you're on a limited budget and want GOOD results and would like a USB mike that plugs right into your computer, I don't believe this can be beat... This is for use in "studio conditions" (ie, in a closed environment without background noise) directly plugged into your computer's USB port... If you're looking for an inexpensive quality studio microphone, this is well worth your consideration.""I wanted something i can primarily use to pre-record webinars, but also skype calls... One stand flew out of the packaging and across the room when I was attempting to liberate it from its plastic prison... Mic feels great in the hand, but sound quality always 100% of the time has high background noise - sounds like street "roar" or white background noise (all windows were closed and no noise was coming from outside... Just to be sure it was not my imagination, I tested it with a Creative mic/headset combo i've been using for 2 years... I could suppress noise made with the Creative headset with my audio/video editing software, but the noise would not suppress when the recording was done by the CAD mic. I don't know where it's picking up this background white noise but it is s 100% unacceptable. And while they're at it, fix the packaging problem and consider including - wait for it - instructions - so your customers actually know how to use your products."
"I actually recorded a rap with this mic: search Moral Dilemma - Epigrammedic on YouTube The microphone was a pain to get out of the plastic. I almost ripped the stand legs apart cause I couldn't figure out how to spread them but they should open up easily if you done right. How to open the legs of the stand: The legs are NOT the top part that looks like their is a line through the middle (that one is the larger of the the three legs... The mic is not warm but is very crisp and clear and sensitive, I had to alter my voice a little to make it sound less crisp. Remember to adjust these settings when you use the mic (in fact bookmark this page if u need to, so you don't forget and wonder why your mic isn't working as it is supposed to): Like all mics its settings is not automatically adjusted to whatever your voice is ( a beginner's assumption) you have to go to the settings and mess with it to see what works best for you. like other people have repeatedly said adjust it to (_) and (-10) to lower the sensitivity If you want to hear yourself while you record: right click on the speaker button on ur tool bar, then once you get to Sound settings go to the "Recording" tab and right click "Speakers (C-Media USB Audio Device)"... All yeah if you see an AG checkbox in the settings somewhere, deselect it, it greatly reduces sensitivity so you won't have too much unwanted ambient noise."
"Okay, so, I bought this for podcasting/streaming, because I didn't want to shell out for a Yeti or a headset... The first is one that other reviewers have mentioned-- you know, theo ne where it mutes all of the system sounds? I was completely flummoxed by this, and Google provided no help when I turned to it, because there's no troubleshooting/help to come from the instructions... I thought the problems were over, but they weren't. Because this mic doesn't have a mute switch (which was admittedly my fault for not reading carefully enough, whoops), I had to unplug it every time I stopped using it, because even when it was muted in the mixer, my streaming software was still picking up audio from it. I was able to plug it back in a few days later and use it as usual, but the next time I unplugged/replugged (and this was spaced out over a few days, trust me, I know better than to quickly pull things in and out of USB ports by now), the mic suddenly stopped working again... I have a Sennheiser 363D on its way to me, because I've found that headsets are preferable for me to use-- as quietly as I speak, I had to dial up the gain on this so high it picked up everything around me."
"I am a long time singer and a currently working voice actor; and this was my first microphone when I had gotten started with voice acting... But even now while I'm waiting for new equipment to come in or while replacing equipment I turn back to my trusty CAD for my voice over work. I also use it for day to day voice chat over Skype for auditions and whatnot. I have yet to re-record any of my demos, all of which were done on the CAD, and I continue to get very positive feedback about sound quality, my voice, and how professional it makes me sound... Now, That all being said, if you are a singer it probably is NOT the best microphone for you... But that is literally my ONLY con about this mic... Your character not falling off a cliff and you dont need to scream for the part?"
"I have had this product for over 2 months now and I use it for everything... I do recommend if you are going to be recording song vocals (As I do) to first get some kind of booth to isolate The vocals so you will hear a more crisp sound... You should be about a foot and a half away from the microphone... I have found wrapping the microphone in paper towels (about 3 layers) will work for filtering "Pop" sounds. Right click the volume icon in your system tray and click on Open Volume Control... This is a very sensitive microphone which is often perceived as "bad" quality as you can see from some of the reviews... Email me if you need some help using your product I would not mind helping!"
