Brother Laminated Black On White Tape 2Pack (TZe2312PK)

Very Quick

"Regardless, when we run out of tape, will likely replace this printer with another brand."

"I called the company, waited a ridiculous amount of time on hold, and was told that the problem is that the label films have separated -- a known problem -- but the only way I could get a refund is to pay to mail them the cassette and my original receipt for it, within 90 days of the purchase."

"I like to know from one year to the next what beautiful blooms I'm looking at and as I have so many plants and my mind gets more senior with each passing year, I find that the labels are invaluable."

"True, Brother has its label-makers' by default set to waste tape, with a full inch before and another after the label you print."

"For some reason many people have said that this was not in the original package, or not retail packaging - but I can honestly tell you that what we rec'd was exactly as shown in the images from the seller."

"The cartridges fit like a glove and, if anything, the labels work better than the OEM ones with an added bonus - because they're a little less costly, it's that much less of a worry when deciding to use the machine."

"They just don't stick to whatever you put them on the way that the Brother tape does."

"Purchased the two pack of white label tape, popped one in the printer... They want us to send the damaged cartridge back to them, very understandable, but we have to ship at our own expense... Regardless, when we run out of tape, will likely replace this printer with another brand."

"I bought a Brother P-Touch labeler and these tapes this summer... This time it came out with black stuff like carbon paper having printed onto the clear thin plastic -- no adhesive or white background in sight. I called the company, waited a ridiculous amount of time on hold, and was told that the problem is that the label films have separated -- a known problem -- but the only way I could get a refund is to pay to mail them the cassette and my original receipt for it, within 90 days of the purchase."

"I like to know from one year to the next what beautiful blooms I'm looking at and as I have so many plants and my mind gets more senior with each passing year, I find that the labels are invaluable. Some of these markers have been outside for three years or more and the label is as crisp and fresh as the day it was printed, truly a terrific quality product... I also like to label my storage boxes in my basement and on shelves around the house and I prefer to use quart Mason jars ( a habit I inherited from my Mother years and years ago) to store rice, pasta, bisquick, small batches of different flours that I use in baking."

"True, Brother has its label-makers' by default set to waste tape, with a full inch before and another after the label you print. Hey, Brother's in it to make money, which they do on their tapes more than on the label-makers themselves... (Off topic, but my thanks to Productivity Guru David Allen for his book "Getting Things Done" and all his other wonderful GTD materials."

"Bought this for my PTouch from Amazon because in the office supply store they wanted twice the amount for it and ONE tape!... For some reason many people have said that this was not in the original package, or not retail packaging - but I can honestly tell you that what we rec'd was exactly as shown in the images from the seller... We've been using this tape now for about 5-months and have used it on a variety of things, from my sons school books to my wifes spice jars."

"I hemmed and hawed before trying this as a refill for a Brother p-touch label maker because of negative reviews and because there seemed to be two different packages shown on the listing... The cartridges fit like a glove and, if anything, the labels work better than the OEM ones with an added bonus - because they're a little less costly, it's that much less of a worry when deciding to use the machine. If, like me, you hate the way the machine wastes a couple of inches at the end of every run you print, try keeping a sticky note on the machine (or set up an e-note on your smart phone) and just make a running list of labels you want but maybe don't need right away."

"The outer part with the printing on it starts peeling off the white background part of the tape, sometimes within a few days or even hours... The cheap tape also doesn't feed as well, and occasionally gets jammed up inside the printer mechanism - a problem I've never had with genuine Brother tape... They just don't stick to whatever you put them on the way that the Brother tape does."

Less Quick

"Also, it wastes a lot of tape at the beginning & end of each label..... Biggest reason for a less than favorable review is how their customer service handled a problem we had. Purchased the two pack of white label tape, popped one in the printer... Removing the cartridge made things worse & a small, but necessary, part of the cartridge broke off... They want us to send the damaged cartridge back to them, very understandable, but we have to ship at our own expense... I could return it through amazon, but I don't feel this is their fault.... Regardless, when we run out of tape, will likely replace this printer with another brand."

"I bought a Brother P-Touch labeler and these tapes this summer. When the sample tape in the labeler ran out, I replaced it with the first of these tapes... I took it out, straightened the tape, and tried again. This time it came out with black stuff like carbon paper having printed onto the clear thin plastic -- no adhesive or white background in sight. I called the company, waited a ridiculous amount of time on hold, and was told that the problem is that the label films have separated -- a known problem -- but the only way I could get a refund is to pay to mail them the cassette and my original receipt for it, within 90 days of the purchase. So, basically, they won't stand behind their defective product without costing me time and postage -- more than it's worth... I'm dumping the P-touch and going back to Dymo, which worked well for me for many years."

"As I'm a labeling freak, I purchased two label makers... While there are colors available, I prefer the laminated black on white tape... I like to know from one year to the next what beautiful blooms I'm looking at and as I have so many plants and my mind gets more senior with each passing year, I find that the labels are invaluable. Some of these markers have been outside for three years or more and the label is as crisp and fresh as the day it was printed, truly a terrific quality product. Our Ozark summers can be brutal and the winds and rain of the winters bone chilling, but the markers stay in tip top shape. I also like to label my storage boxes in my basement and on shelves around the house and I prefer to use quart Mason jars ( a habit I inherited from my Mother years and years ago) to store rice, pasta, bisquick, small batches of different flours that I use in baking. These labels adhere and don't let go, nice and neat in my cabinets."

"Exactly what I was hoping for when I bought it. I can't speak to the occasional review I just now saw that they were imitations... True, Brother has its label-makers' by default set to waste tape, with a full inch before and another after the label you print. Hey, Brother's in it to make money, which they do on their tapes more than on the label-makers themselves. (If you don't have a label-maker yet, sign up for Staples email alerts and wait for a great deal on a good one... And, labeling my file folders this way is GREAT!... (Off topic, but my thanks to Productivity Guru David Allen for his book "Getting Things Done" and all his other wonderful GTD materials."

"Bought this for my PTouch from Amazon because in the office supply store they wanted twice the amount for it and ONE tape! Arrived well packed (if anything, OVER packed) and in FULL RETAIL PACKAGE. For some reason many people have said that this was not in the original package, or not retail packaging - but I can honestly tell you that what we rec'd was exactly as shown in the images from the seller. Not only was the outer package full retail, but the individual tape was sealed as well. We've been using this tape now for about 5-months and have used it on a variety of things, from my sons school books to my wifes spice jars. The tape sticks really nicely and the lettering is easy to read and crisp -- no jaggies or anything else. When time comes to buy more tape, I will be buying this again."

"On my job I make hundreds of labels per week, mostly as wire markers or for labeling control panels on electronics projects. My employer thought the Brother tape was too expensive and started buying cheaper imitation products made for the Brother printers... The outer part with the printing on it starts peeling off the white background part of the tape, sometimes within a few days or even hours... Especially with small fonts which come out blurry on the imitation brand tape. The cheap tape also doesn't feed as well, and occasionally gets jammed up inside the printer mechanism - a problem I've never had with genuine Brother tape... They just don't stick to whatever you put them on the way that the Brother tape does... It will save you time and frustration, and last a lot longer than the cheap imitations."
