"* The best colored pencils that I have ever used!"
"They seem almost waxier and not as good of quality as they once were (I compared the same colour from my old set and this new one, same name, same number and they were pretty different yet alike in a werid way) ..."
"The ratio is definitely in your favor, if you don't sharpen them wrong and and let them drop on the floor and so forth if you don't want to deal with babying pencils, then go ahead spend over $200 for 72 caran d'ache luminance (which I have, and they are worth it but I don't see shelling out that kind of money again and again, I'm buying prismacolors also to make thone babies LAST."

"I have had this set in my wish list for years at $180 which was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE but I noticed on 2017 Black Friday sales it dropped to $56..... I googled to see if this was just in my mind but sure enough the company was bought and dropped the BEROL name, keeping Prismacolor and they changed the make up of the pencil leads. They seem almost waxier and not as good of quality as they once were (I compared the same colour from my old set and this new one, same name, same number and they were pretty different yet alike in a werid way) ...""You have to baby them; sharpen in special sharpeners because of the off-center cores (I use the kutsuwa t-gaal); be prepared to put them in the oven if you get one with a completely shattered core ( not, alas, unusual ); some of them have split wood which you can't do anything about... The cores are still the same as previously, they lay down beautifully, blend like a dream and have vibrant colors no one else has... "I have had this set in my wish list for years at $180 which was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE but I noticed on 2017 Black Friday sales it dropped to $56..... I am a little disappointed to see and 'feel' the difference between these and the original BEROL Prismacolor set I have from 20 years ago. I googled to see if this was just in my mind but sure enough the company was bought and dropped the BEROL name, keeping Prismacolor and they changed the make up of the pencil leads. They seem almost waxier and not as good of quality as they once were (I compared the same colour from my old set and this new one, same name, same number and they were pretty different yet alike in a werid way) ..... Guess, if I really get back into coloured pencils again, I will really have to look for new brands. Saying all of this, beggars can't be choosers and I'm like a 5 year old at Christmas with all of these colour choices and the new-ness of new colours not in my original palette is exciting. I am tempted though to take them out of their trays and just dump them in the nice tin it comes in...""You have to baby them; sharpen in special sharpeners because of the off-center cores (I use the kutsuwa t-gaal); be prepared to put them in the oven if you get one with a completely shattered core ( not, alas, unusual ); some of them have split wood which you can't do anything about. The company was not like this before being bought by Newell Rubbermaid and moved to Mexico... The cores are still the same as previously, they lay down beautifully, blend like a dream and have vibrant colors no one else has. I would suggest, get this set, look up the tips online and in reviews to prevent breakage and use them and enjoy. If you are an artist selling your paintings, also look up their lightfast chart because all of those pretty colors aren't lightfast. But 2//3 of the set is and that's still more colors than most other brands...
