It takes me at least twice as long, if not three times as long to clean my floors with this than with a regular mop. As far as the spin function of the bucket, to get it to wring out any amount of water you have to stomp hard on the pedal several times in a very fast pace."

As for REAL hardwood, again you have to be careful, to much water sitting on the floor is never a good thing and the swifter wet jet or the bona while doing an ok job , DOES NOT get it clean... While this is true, I have found that when you fill the water to the SUGGESTED water line, I have never had a spill issue."
