"I haven't had an issue with the smaller size since it makes it perfect for his little hands and, aside from the orange, they are detailed enough that there is no mistaking what they are.""I also noticed some of the paint had come off but it looks more like it wore off with a lot of use rather than chipping off like other reviewers had noted."
"* 201704 Have had it for several months."
"* what i loved the most was this wasn't plastic so was environmentally friendly."
"I would have at least painted a stem or some texture on it, since the other foods have much more detail in them."
"my only complaint is that one of the wooden pieces on the crate was broken and another was pushed down."
"The milk carton and chicken drumstick are a little heavy for now, but she will grow into them."

"No paint has chipped off (which I keep checking for since several reviews mention chipped paint) and I am very surprised the little wooden crates are still intact... True, the recommended age is a few months older than he is, but he does know most of the other fruits and veggies in the set and this one isn't detailed enough, in my opinion... I haven't had an issue with the smaller size since it makes it perfect for his little hands and, aside from the orange, they are detailed enough that there is no mistaking what they are.""* I bought this set of food for my granddaughter to go along with a play kitchen that I got on amazon at the same time... Its only a matter of time before the toys end up in the mouths of small children so these are great because they don't get chewed up like the cardboard and plastic ones do... I also noticed some of the paint had come off but it looks more like it wore off with a lot of use rather than chipping off like other reviewers had noted."
"He especially likes the bread, since it is his favorite food, and he spent much time calling it all "dati" (that could be spelled wrong), which is Swahili for "bread"... The children had to take a minute to wonder about what it was because it doesn't look like real food. I would have at least painted a stem or some texture on it, since the other foods have much more detail in them."
"my only complaint is that one of the wooden pieces on the crate was broken and another was pushed down. i glued them back in place and so far no problems, but my son is usually rather careful with his toys... so if it had been another child who plays rough with toys this would be trash."
"* These food groups are designed well, durable, look great, and my LO loves them. She enjoys taking them out of the crates and putting them back in, in addition we like to set up little picnic's with them as well. The milk carton and chicken drumstick are a little heavy for now, but she will grow into them."

True, the recommended age is a few months older than he is, but he does know most of the other fruits and veggies in the set and this one isn't detailed enough, in my opinion. The sizes are smaller than life size, so if you're looking for life sized pretend food this is probably not for you. I haven't had an issue with the smaller size since it makes it perfect for his little hands and, aside from the orange, they are detailed enough that there is no mistaking what they are. Many of the other reviewers also mentioned that they are dangerous/not appropriate for their children... The solid wooden pieces are definitely dangerous for kids who still throw stuff or drop stuff constantly. And if your child still puts things in their mouths constantly, then I am sure the paint will chip off much quicker.""* I bought this set of food for my granddaughter to go along with a play kitchen that I got on amazon at the same time... It is much better than the plastic and cardboard sets that she had previously. Its only a matter of time before the toys end up in the mouths of small children so these are great because they don't get chewed up like the cardboard and plastic ones do. I saw previous reviews where it was said that the food didn't look much like real food but I didn't find that nor did my granddaughter... I also really liked the small wooded trays that the food comes in. She keeps them in her kitchen set with her food stored in them and they've held together as well even after being used extensively. I also noticed some of the paint had come off but it looks more like it wore off with a lot of use rather than chipping off like other reviewers had noted."
"The 3 year olds very much enjoy pretending to eat the food, pass it around, and learn about the food groups... He especially likes the bread, since it is his favorite food, and he spent much time calling it all "dati" (that could be spelled wrong), which is Swahili for "bread". At one point he tried throwing these around (thankfully not in the direction of any people), and one got hurled all the way across the room and didn't break or even get scratched... That's really the only thing that identifies it as being an orange. The children had to take a minute to wonder about what it was because it doesn't look like real food. I would have at least painted a stem or some texture on it, since the other foods have much more detail in them. Otherwise, this is a great toy and I am definitely buying more from these sellers again."
