"* Works as advertised.""These are the techniques I've been able to try with this machine without having to purchase additional accessories: -Attaching piping to clothing - I used the zipper foot that is included and it worked wonderfully) -Sewing buttonholes - using the automatic button hole feature I was able to sew buttonholes into a thick linen quite easily."
"You can't sew backward with the foot pedal; backstitching is done with a pushbutton and it's really slow."
"Much still to learn but has excellent features."

You can't sew backward with the foot pedal; backstitching is done with a pushbutton and it's really slow. This is trivial, but so far is the only thing I don't like about the machine."

"Being new to sewing, there are so many things I never would have tried if this machine hadn't had all the features it does... These are the techniques I've been able to try with this machine without having to purchase additional accessories: -Attaching piping to clothing - I used the zipper foot that is included and it worked wonderfully) -Sewing buttonholes - using the automatic button hole feature I was able to sew buttonholes into a thick linen quite easily... -Straight-line quilting - using the walking foot, straight-line quilting guide, and attachable wide table (all included) -Twin-needle stitching on knit fabric to hem - twin needle included though it wasn't the most ideal needle for knits -Decorative applique and top-stitching using the various stitches - I made some burp rags w/ decorative applique and sold some of them! -Using the mock overstitch foot and stitch to finish raw edges of knits - Less expensive than purchasing an overlock machine -Blind-hem stitch to hem a skirt -Plus more that I can't remember, I'm sure So many of these techniques I never would have tried if this machine didn't already have the accessories and stitch types available... Even if this machine isn't the best at this, I'm confident it will make it easy enough that I'll get to know if free-motion quilting is something I enjoy. I don't know how this machine compares to other beginner machines but for the reasonable price and all the projects I've completed with it I've already made the purchase well worth it. Being able to try so many different things has let me know what type of sewing I truly enjoy and what I want in a sewing machine when it comes time to upgrade to a more professional one.""I've even used it with heavier fabrics (sharp denim needle!... Over 4 layers of (soft) denim did cause it to chatter unless I moved the needle with the wheel by hand. I have to adjust (tighten) the top thread tension with heavier fabrics... The needle threader is really helpful... I like the bits and bobs that came with it, like the quilting attachments and the numerous feet... You can't sew backward with the foot pedal; backstitching is done with a pushbutton and it's really slow. This is trivial, but so far is the only thing I don't like about the machine."
