Brita Standard Water Filter, Standard Replacement Filters for Pitchers and Dispensers, BPA Free - 3 Count

Very Quick

"A full reservoir may take as long as an hour to filter through, then you refill the reservoir and wait another hour."

"The filters are slower than the white ones, perhaps because they filter better, but whatever the reason it would take maybe 10 trips through the kitchen over 45 minutes to fill the pitcher 3 times."

"I read in the negative comments section that for some the filter would work just for a couple of weeks and then the water flow would slow down to even a stop, but I thought, where I live you could actually drink water from the faucet all your life and never get sick but I use filter just in case, and also to remove the chlorine taste so I gave it a shot."

"* Exactly what I needed and was the cheapest price at the same I bought it."

"I've had my brita for about 2 years, and in that time, I never had issues with the water taking too long to filter with the standard ones."

"* Perfect- non of those black specs come up like the old Brita filters did."

"* Takes way too long for the water to filter through, literally a drop a second. A full reservoir may take as long as an hour to filter through, then you refill the reservoir and wait another hour... UPDATE: Followed suggestions another reviewer posted re: advice from Brita (tap reservoir, shake filter, soak filter) Then filled reservoir."

"I do keep a second ornamental non-Brita pitcher that is usually full of already-filtered water when needed, but I just use the filtered water too much for these blue filters to work for me... The filters are slower than the white ones, perhaps because they filter better, but whatever the reason it would take maybe 10 trips through the kitchen over 45 minutes to fill the pitcher 3 times... My other alternative is to throw them away and drink unfiltered well water for 4 days until arrival of the new white ones I just ordered."

"I've been using the standard Brita pitcher filter for about 20 years now without a single issue, so I thought this one would be an improvement (it says so in the description actually). I read in the negative comments section that for some the filter would work just for a couple of weeks and then the water flow would slow down to even a stop, but I thought, where I live you could actually drink water from the faucet all your life and never get sick but I use filter just in case, and also to remove the chlorine taste so I gave it a shot... They blame the slow flow to "aerated water", but I haven't had issues with my refrigerator filter, or a faucet filter I once had, or the 20 years I've been using the standard Brita one."

"I've had my brita for about 2 years, and in that time, I never had issues with the water taking too long to filter with the standard ones... With this one, however, I only had it for a week, and already, it's been taking over an hour to filter just 6-8 cups... If you need context, I live in New York so my water might not need as much filtering as your water, depending on your state and area, and that speaks to volumes of how defective this filter has been."

"Unfiltered water came out into my glass though I poured carefully, that's how full it was. I do keep a second ornamental non-Brita pitcher that is usually full of already-filtered water when needed, but I just use the filtered water too much for these blue filters to work for me... The filters are slower than the white ones, perhaps because they filter better, but whatever the reason it would take maybe 10 trips through the kitchen over 45 minutes to fill the pitcher 3 times... My other alternative is to throw them away and drink unfiltered well water for 4 days until arrival of the new white ones I just ordered... I guess average families don't drink much water, because I, only 1 person (plus I use it for the dogs' water dishes) go through more than a gallon a day... As far as cost compared to the regular white filters: let's use their numbers, which say the blue ones last for 6 months each, and on cost $25... Until Brita tells me that these new filters do a better job, and produce independent test results to prove it, I'll save my time and stick with the white ones."

Amazon was kind enough to send me a replacement (that is why Amazon is the best online store period). With the new one, after a week, I saw that the water had a strange tint to it, but I thought it might be a reflection of light or something... It's a shame since after all these years with a good experience I feel in the need to find another brand of dispenser/water filters... They blame the slow flow to "aerated water", but I haven't had issues with my refrigerator filter, or a faucet filter I once had, or the 20 years I've been using the standard Brita one."

"* I normally don't post reviews, but I wanted to warn others before purchasing this filter as it's not cheap. I've had my brita for about 2 years, and in that time, I never had issues with the water taking too long to filter with the standard ones. Granted, if it started taking too long, I knew it was time to change it out, and then it would go back to its normal rate of flow. With this one, however, I only had it for a week, and already, it's been taking over an hour to filter just 6-8 cups... It's unfortunate because you would think spending $25 on two filters would at least last for a few months..... All I know is I'm already looking into other affordable and effective water filtering systems. If you need context, I live in New York so my water might not need as much filtering as your water, depending on your state and area, and that speaks to volumes of how defective this filter has been."
