"Or you can just fill it once and see if it works (filling less than half the pitcher) and dont try again until it is empty, but that leads to having to fill it 6 or 7 times a day meaning good luck on getting a full cup of cold filtered water."

"* It leaks if there is water above the filter."

"Carefully take it apart as soon as you open your package."

"* I like this water pitcher."

") In the Brita this is what happens and you might not notice because the reservoir is designed such, that it (unnecessarily) extends way past the lower end of the filter, obscuring where the water that you see comes from."

Quick

"When this happens you can't just dump the top section to try and reset the filter or squeeze it to get out the bubbles or shake the filter or rinse it again or soak it again or all of the above in some order or another in the hopes it will work on this next try. You have to dump the entire pitcher because the top section won't come out without wrestling it loose or you have to pull the filter which allows the unfiltered water to pour into the already filtered water... Or you can just fill it once and see if it works (filling less than half the pitcher) and dont try again until it is empty, but that leads to having to fill it 6 or 7 times a day meaning good luck on getting a full cup of cold filtered water."

"The previous attempt at getting filtered water, using the oh-so-great PUR filter, failed due to rapid blockage of the filter (the tap water itself doesn't actually have particulates in it that would explain it), it would barely drip at all anymore... ) In the Brita this is what happens and you might not notice because the reservoir is designed such, that it (unnecessarily) extends way past the lower end of the filter, obscuring where the water that you see comes from. I'm still going to keep it since there seems to be no other option (except lugging home tons of bottled water) but I am not happy with the Brita."

"I don't know what they changed but these filters that used to be wonderful are terrible now... That would be fine if you could expect the filter to do it's job reliably but you can't... When this happens you can't just dump the top section to try and reset the filter or squeeze it to get out the bubbles or shake the filter or rinse it again or soak it again or all of the above in some order or another in the hopes it will work on this next try. You have to dump the entire pitcher because the top section won't come out without wrestling it loose or you have to pull the filter which allows the unfiltered water to pour into the already filtered water... Nevermind the waste of water to do this, you never know when the filter will work and when it won't and if you've put water in the top to filter and it doesn't you can't get to the already filtered water , so you've wasted it all. Or you can just fill it once and see if it works (filling less than half the pitcher) and dont try again until it is empty, but that leads to having to fill it 6 or 7 times a day meaning good luck on getting a full cup of cold filtered water. After a year of wasting water this way and going through at least 20 filter cartridges thinking I kept getting duds or I was doing something wrong, I give up."

") and tasting the disgusting bitterness of NYC tap water (that never goes away) I finally had enough. The previous attempt at getting filtered water, using the oh-so-great PUR filter, failed due to rapid blockage of the filter (the tap water itself doesn't actually have particulates in it that would explain it), it would barely drip at all anymore... First thing I noticed was, how fast the water filtered through... There is no production flaw in pitcher or filter that would keep them from fitting together as they should... Well, remember what I told you about the PUR and it refusing to let water through after a short while?... ) In the Brita this is what happens and you might not notice because the reservoir is designed such, that it (unnecessarily) extends way past the lower end of the filter, obscuring where the water that you see comes from.
