Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, Intense Black (Jet Black)

Very Quick

"One of my eyes was watering a bit, and the liner didn't stay well where my eye had watered a little, but I think it's because the liner wasn't able to fully adhere to my skin and/or wasn't able to fully dry to stay in place."

"Sometimes it'll be great and work in the ways I just described, other times the eyeliner is so light its nearly translucent, and will hardly stick to your skin enough to apply it."

"Instead of going back to a liner I kinda tolerated and searching for one across the internet that has been discontinued, I read the reviews and decided to give this a try."

"Compared to Kat Von D s tattoo liner (which seems to be Stila Stay All Day s biggest competitor) the tattoo liner is definitely way more water resistant- like, scrub with makeup remover/coconut oil to get it off, BUT the formula dried out so quick in the pen itself."

"However, I have really oily skin and oily lids, and I've never found a product that stays on any better than this unless it's an intense formula that hurts my skin."

"Having used stila Stay All Day Waterproof eyeliner exclusively for a very long time (& even having purchased this product from Amazon before), these problems are not at all normal for this product and actually make me question its authenticity."

"* I don't brag about many things but I'm kinda amazing at doing gorgeous solid black cat-eye eyeliners, and I know this because I have always gotten compliments on it through my life but a lot especially since I've started using this brand."

"* This is the first time I've tried this eye liner, but I had to try it since it's a liquid eye liner with a nice small tip and had such great reviews... One of my eyes was watering a bit, and the liner didn't stay well where my eye had watered a little, but I think it's because the liner wasn't able to fully adhere to my skin and/or wasn't able to fully dry to stay in place... I got really excited because I can't stand makeup that moves or smears or comes off easily/isn't waterproof and this seemed perfect - and then I got really worried."

"It stays flawlessly on my oily eyelids (with some base), the pen is sharp, and the color is dark... Sometimes it'll be great and work in the ways I just described, other times the eyeliner is so light its nearly translucent, and will hardly stick to your skin enough to apply it... I've seen several reviews claiming that the bad tubes with gold writing on them are fake - I don't think this is the case."

"Honestly, I didn't know what the heck I was doing but it allowed me to make errors and correct them without too much build up or cakiness... Instead of going back to a liner I kinda tolerated and searching for one across the internet that has been discontinued, I read the reviews and decided to give this a try... I haven't tried to remove it or done the smudge test yet but if it works this well putting it on, touch ups will not be a problem."

"I'm on my 3rd pen and the only issue I've run into is that the tips tend to bend over time making it more difficult to get a sharp point when drawing on wings... The font on the pen itself is also different than my previous 2 (old ones had white font, newest one has gold) so maybe they ve done some updating to the tip as well as packaging? Compared to Kat Von D s tattoo liner (which seems to be Stila Stay All Day s biggest competitor) the tattoo liner is definitely way more water resistant- like, scrub with makeup remover/coconut oil to get it off, BUT the formula dried out so quick in the pen itself."

"However, I have really oily skin and oily lids, and I've never found a product that stays on any better than this unless it's an intense formula that hurts my skin... COST: if you aren't sure about spending over $20 for a liner, trust me that this one is worth it... It looks great with my blue eyes during the day, and it's still dark enough to carry over into evening."

"Six days into use, it stopped gliding on as smoothly, and the color that it actually did distribute was lighter and appeared faded upon application... Having used stila Stay All Day Waterproof eyeliner exclusively for a very long time (& even having purchased this product from Amazon before), these problems are not at all normal for this product and actually make me question its authenticity... Since discovering stila Stay All Day Waterproof eyeliner nearly two years ago, I use it exclusively because it is actually true to its name - it is 100% waterproof and stays all day (& all night!"

"* I don't brag about many things but I'm kinda amazing at doing gorgeous solid black cat-eye eyeliners, and I know this because I have always gotten compliments on it through my life but a lot especially since I've started using this brand... My only complaint would be that I wish it were half the cost, because for best results you really want a new pen every month. The basic problem with felt-tip eyeliners is that we go through them faster than we realize and/or they can dry out easily and apply more and more poorly over time."

Less Quick

"* This is the first time I've tried this eye liner, but I had to try it since it's a liquid eye liner with a nice small tip and had such great reviews... It goes on fairly dark the first swipe and gets darker if you go over it, so you have more control than you'd expect in a black liquid eye liner. I love that you can press lightly with the tip and get an extremely thin line, or press harder and get a thicker line... But it seems like it would definitely stay on all day because as soon as I let it dry fully I wiped it with my finger and it didn't move or come off. One of my eyes was watering a bit, and the liner didn't stay well where my eye had watered a little, but I think it's because the liner wasn't able to fully adhere to my skin and/or wasn't able to fully dry to stay in place... I got really excited because I can't stand makeup that moves or smears or comes off easily/isn't waterproof and this seemed perfect - and then I got really worried... The Micellar Water says to not get it in your eyes, and so I carefully put a bit on the cotton ball so it wasn't too saturated and wiped my eye."

"It stays flawlessly on my oily eyelids (with some base), the pen is sharp, and the color is dark... Sometimes it'll be great and work in the ways I just described, other times the eyeliner is so light its nearly translucent, and will hardly stick to your skin enough to apply it. If you have the patience to apply layer after layer to get to appear even somewhat dark, it smudges and runs terribly. I've seen several reviews claiming that the bad tubes with gold writing on them are fake - I don't think this is the case... I decided to buy my last tube from a Sephora store in the mall - it came in a shiny box with gold writing, and it was terrible... I'm sad to say I'll probably have to find another eyeliner from now on... Until Stila can step up their game and consistently produce this as the amazing eyeliner it sometimes can be, I'll be moving on to something else."

"Liquid eyeliners have always been a miss for me... I used Prestige for a long time as I prefer a felt tip over other brush applicators. Honestly, I didn't know what the heck I was doing but it allowed me to make errors and correct them without too much build up or cakiness... I was always on the fence about that one but I could work it out... Instead of going back to a liner I kinda tolerated and searching for one across the internet that has been discontinued, I read the reviews and decided to give this a try... Thin felt tip to get in the corners but I can easily widen the line without buildup... I haven't tried to remove it or done the smudge test yet but if it works this well putting it on, touch ups will not be a problem."

"However, it consistently survives all day with zero smudging or transference to my lid (I have hooded eyes) in the 100f humid weather that s custom in coastal NC during the summer. I'm on my 3rd pen and the only issue I've run into is that the tips tend to bend over time making it more difficult to get a sharp point when drawing on wings. It seems like the latest one I purchased (on 5/3/16) has a somewhat stiffer tip that is more likely to stay pointed. The font on the pen itself is also different than my previous 2 (old ones had white font, newest one has gold) so maybe they ve done some updating to the tip as well as packaging? Compared to Kat Von D s tattoo liner (which seems to be Stila Stay All Day s biggest competitor) the tattoo liner is definitely way more water resistant- like, scrub with makeup remover/coconut oil to get it off, BUT the formula dried out so quick in the pen itself. I used it for about 3 weeks before it started drying out to the point only a faint unusable line could be drawn. If I m paying $20-ish for eyeliner I want to be able to use it for longer than a month."

"I usually need to touch up only once in the workday, then again if I'm going out after. However, I have really oily skin and oily lids, and I've never found a product that stays on any better than this unless it's an intense formula that hurts my skin... COST: if you aren't sure about spending over $20 for a liner, trust me that this one is worth it... I even accidentally left the cap off mine for a whole day, so I recapped it and stored it upside down, and it completely recovered... It looks great with my blue eyes during the day, and it's still dark enough to carry over into evening. FEEL: In addition to holding on really well (as mentioned above), it dries quickly and feels like nothing, super light weight. It's easy to touch up with a q-tip for about 30 seconds after applying."

"Six days into use, it stopped gliding on as smoothly, and the color that it actually did distribute was lighter and appeared faded upon application... Having used stila Stay All Day Waterproof eyeliner exclusively for a very long time (& even having purchased this product from Amazon before), these problems are not at all normal for this product and actually make me question its authenticity. The stila product that was sent to me eleven days ago does not work like the real stila eyeliner... This eyeliner should NOT be exhibiting characteristics of running out after only eleven days of daily use! Since discovering stila Stay All Day Waterproof eyeliner nearly two years ago, I use it exclusively because it is actually true to its name - it is 100% waterproof and stays all day (& all night!... One pen has always lasted me between 30-45 days of daily, multiple times a day, use... I am severely disappointed with this product, and will be purchasing it elsewhere from now on."

"* I don't brag about many things but I'm kinda amazing at doing gorgeous solid black cat-eye eyeliners, and I know this because I have always gotten compliments on it through my life but a lot especially since I've started using this brand... I also don't reviews these days unless a product is compelling enough (almost never). I say all of that only to say that this is the BEST eyeliner I have EVER used, and the reason why is simple. It goes on SO SMOOTHLY with precision and density as on top of makeup/shadows or bare skin, and it looks good Hours later. My only complaint would be that I wish it were half the cost, because for best results you really want a new pen every month. The basic problem with felt-tip eyeliners is that we go through them faster than we realize and/or they can dry out easily and apply more and more poorly over time. Even Stila's does that eventually, but I definitely get much, much more out of it before I start getting those dry-tip blues."
