So when the Seagate arrived, I just put it on the back of my desk (never opened it). It sat there for over a year, when I needed another drive for more backups, so I opened the box, plugged it in to my computer, but nothing happened... I took a power supply from my Western Digital USB drive (which is the same voltage) and the unit powers up. So I have a brand new unit, that is outside the 1 year warranty, that I cannot use unless I go find another power supply... I recommend NOT buying this Seagate drive, and buying Western Digital drives."
