PET STANDARD Filters for Catit Design Senses Fountains and Catit Flower Fountains, Pack of 6

Very Quick

"About once a week, the output will get a little weak and I have to open up the fountain and pick her fur off of the pump, but I still had to do that even with the brand name filters."

"I noticed right away when I unwrapped the first filter from this pack that the white material on top of the filter was very different from the filter that came with the fountain."

"Today I took the younger of our cats to the doctor as we have noticed a change in her mood, which went from super happy and energetic cat to a very low energy cat that has started to show some problems with the urine."

"This time I cleaned the fountain and replaced that filter with the Catit brand name filter and our 17 yr old lady Norma Jean, went over, sniffed around it and drank from her fountain again!"

"It seems like a lot of the 1 star reviews are people who bought filters that weren't made for their fountain or people who expect a filter to replace cleaning the fountain periodically: - Before you buy these, look closely at the filter that came with your fountain - if it looks different than these, they probably won't fit."

"By mid-August, I noticed that the water wasn't draining very well, so I drained the fountain only to have found that the filter had gotten incredibly slimy all over (which wasn't noticeably to me except when I touched it)."

"I do not want to even have our cats use the fountain right now until the real filters get here-but they LOVE their Catit fountain and are throwing a fit that I haven't put it back down for them to use."

Quick

"Catit Design Senses Fountain with Water Softening Cartridge, 3L I rinse and clean the filters every week, but don't change them super frequently, maybe every month to 6 weeks... About once a week, the output will get a little weak and I have to open up the fountain and pick her fur off of the pump, but I still had to do that even with the brand name filters... The only real difference that I've noticed, and the reason for four stars instead of five, is that these filters seem to be just the tiniest bit smaller in diameter, and just a little thinner than the original ones."

"* When we bought our Catit Flower fountain, I ordered a 6-pack of these filters because Amazon suggested them and the reviews were largely positive... I noticed right away when I unwrapped the first filter from this pack that the white material on top of the filter was very different from the filter that came with the fountain... Rather than flowing down through the filter, water was simply trickling back down into the reservoir through the little squiggly "overflow slot" along the back of the green piece that supports the filter."

"Today I took the younger of our cats to the doctor as we have noticed a change in her mood, which went from super happy and energetic cat to a very low energy cat that has started to show some problems with the urine... That's when we came and checked the filter (the regular ones I am used to check them and clean the fountain around every week and a half or two weeks... Of course the cats had not been drinking enough water for the past 2 weeks, they knew the water was polluted, even tough it was not evident at first sight."

"* I first ordered 2 boxes of these filters and initially thought they were great, enough that when I opened the second box, I went ahead and ordered a third one... Today I decided to clean it again and replace using another new filter, even tho the old filter was only about 10 days old... This time I cleaned the fountain and replaced that filter with the Catit brand name filter and our 17 yr old lady Norma Jean, went over, sniffed around it and drank from her fountain again!"

"They do feel a little cheaper than the Catit brand ones - but that's because they are... It seems like a lot of the 1 star reviews are people who bought filters that weren't made for their fountain or people who expect a filter to replace cleaning the fountain periodically: - Before you buy these, look closely at the filter that came with your fountain - if it looks different than these, they probably won't fit... - I clean fountain about once a week, and top off the water every couple of days."

"* I was really excited to have found a less expensive alternative to the Catit brand filters, especially because the reviews on these were so positive... By mid-August, I noticed that the water wasn't draining very well, so I drained the fountain only to have found that the filter had gotten incredibly slimy all over (which wasn't noticeably to me except when I touched it)... I would only recommend them if you don't mind changing the filter every two weeks."

"* Did not use these cut-rate filters until two weeks go after I ran out of the genuine Catit Design filters-because I wanted to save a few dollars... I do not want to even have our cats use the fountain right now until the real filters get here-but they LOVE their Catit fountain and are throwing a fit that I haven't put it back down for them to use. We also just purchased them a new Drinkwell Fountain that I just set up for them today-they do not seem impressed as yet."

Less Quick

"Catit Design Senses Fountain with Water Softening Cartridge, 3L I rinse and clean the filters every week, but don't change them super frequently, maybe every month to 6 weeks... After finding these, I figured I'd give them a try since the 6 pack of these filters costs the same as the 2 pack of the brand name ones... One of my cats is long haired with a big, fluffy scarf which she likes to dip in the fountain while she gets a drink... About once a week, the output will get a little weak and I have to open up the fountain and pick her fur off of the pump, but I still had to do that even with the brand name filters... The only real difference that I've noticed, and the reason for four stars instead of five, is that these filters seem to be just the tiniest bit smaller in diameter, and just a little thinner than the original ones... The compartments where the filtering agents are held feel like they might be a little less full, but it may just be my imagination- I haven't weighed them or anything to tell for sure... The slight inconvenience of having to dodge a few swarming and yowling brats to push the filter down isn't the end of the world, and since they love their fountain so, it's something I just deal with."

"* When we bought our Catit Flower fountain, I ordered a 6-pack of these filters because Amazon suggested them and the reviews were largely positive. The best thing I can say about these filters is that yes, they do *fit* in our Catit Flower fountain... I noticed right away when I unwrapped the first filter from this pack that the white material on top of the filter was very different from the filter that came with the fountain... When I put one in the fountain, there was a noticeable difference in the sound of water trickling through the fountain, but I didn't think much of it at first... Rather than flowing down through the filter, water was simply trickling back down into the reservoir through the little squiggly "overflow slot" along the back of the green piece that supports the filter... It's so dense that you can't see through it, and water doesn't pass through it properly. I suspect that filters like these may be responsible for some people's pumps breaking, since the water isn't being filtered like it should be."

"I have been using one for about 2 weeks. Today I took the younger of our cats to the doctor as we have noticed a change in her mood, which went from super happy and energetic cat to a very low energy cat that has started to show some problems with the urine... That's when we came and checked the filter (the regular ones I am used to check them and clean the fountain around every week and a half or two weeks... Of course the cats had not been drinking enough water for the past 2 weeks, they knew the water was polluted, even tough it was not evident at first sight. The bags inside the filters had opened and that must have been the reason for the way the water seemed contaminated. I left the fountain without filter and my cats started drinking right away... But I am not risking the health of my pets and I am going to throw away the other filters in the pack and get new ones from the right brand."

"* I first ordered 2 boxes of these filters and initially thought they were great, enough that when I opened the second box, I went ahead and ordered a third one... Decided that probably wasn't good for the kitties to drink, so again I cleaned the fountains and replaced the filters, using fresh water of course. This last time was a little over a week ago and they refused to use one of the fountains the very same day!... Today I decided to clean it again and replace using another new filter, even tho the old filter was only about 10 days old... This time I cleaned the fountain and replaced that filter with the Catit brand name filter and our 17 yr old lady Norma Jean, went over, sniffed around it and drank from her fountain again! She had been refusing to use that fountain for over a week (I got tired of her drinking out of our bathroom sink)... I have returned the 3rd box to Amazon and am searching now for the previous design that had only charcoal in the filters."

"* I have the Catit Senses fountain (the blue one), and these work just fine in it. They do feel a little cheaper than the Catit brand ones - but that's because they are... It seems like a lot of the 1 star reviews are people who bought filters that weren't made for their fountain or people who expect a filter to replace cleaning the fountain periodically: - Before you buy these, look closely at the filter that came with your fountain - if it looks different than these, they probably won't fit. These filters have a hard plastic tray with a thin foam layer on top. The stainless steel fountains come with a thin carbon filter, which is why these filters don't work in them. - I clean fountain about once a week, and top off the water every couple of days. By doing regular maintenance, these filters last about 2 weeks each."

"* I was really excited to have found a less expensive alternative to the Catit brand filters, especially because the reviews on these were so positive... By mid-August, I noticed that the water wasn't draining very well, so I drained the fountain only to have found that the filter had gotten incredibly slimy all over (which wasn't noticeably to me except when I touched it). I have no idea how that happened or what caused it; the regular Catit filters never got slimy, they only got clogged by cat hair. I tried rinsing off the slime but it's still not filtering a week later... I would only recommend them if you don't mind changing the filter every two weeks. Plus, what is the slime, and is it okay for my cats to drink water that has slime build up? I'm going back to the original filters once these are gone."

"* Did not use these cut-rate filters until two weeks go after I ran out of the genuine Catit Design filters-because I wanted to save a few dollars... I cleaned out the Catit fountain today and was horrified to see lots of orange and grey residue in the bottom of the fountain! This obviously came out of the cheaper filters and I just put in a RUSH order to get replacement Catit design filters ASAP from Amazon. I do not want to even have our cats use the fountain right now until the real filters get here-but they LOVE their Catit fountain and are throwing a fit that I haven't put it back down for them to use. We also just purchased them a new Drinkwell Fountain that I just set up for them today-they do not seem impressed as yet. We are in Florida and both cats drink a lot of water so we thought having two different fountain locations in our home would be nice. I will NEVER buy these cheaper filters again."
