Very Quick
"The Fujitsu IX-500's and the Paperstream software from Fujitsu that comes with the scanners work effortlessly right out of the box, with very few manual adjustments necessary, for the vast majority of users.""It always jammed, always needed babysitting, couldn't handle more than 5 pages at a time, the scan quality was atrocious, edges of the paper were always cut off even though it was supposed to scan a full page (at whatever size we had specified)."
"So I talked to the ScanSnap folks in customer service and they gave me this model rather than the one that comes with Evernote."
"The only reason it doesn't rate better is that it did not come with the AC adapter, I had to order one because I didn't have the time to return the scanner and wait for another one to be shipped all because of a stupid AC adapter."
"Great quality on all Pictures, receipts, legal documents and crap that will of course come out like it is (crumbled receipts, rain damaged, a crap to scan in the first place) point is you get what you scan."
"Otherwise, once you get it working, you can't find a more convenient or faster scanner."
"* I have owned about 4 ScanSnap scanners over the years but could NOT install software on my Windows 10 system."

"For the first time in 9 years of installations I am replacing one IX500 and that is only because one too many staples have inadvertently gone through the automatic feeder and the glass is now deeply scratched... I did look into the cost to have Fujitsu fix it, but the cost of having it repaired was almost as much as buying a new scanner and we can receive the new one in 2 days using Amazon Prime rather than sending in the other unit back to Fujitsu, waiting for them to rebuild the optic glass and ship it back... The Fujitsu IX-500's and the Paperstream software from Fujitsu that comes with the scanners work effortlessly right out of the box, with very few manual adjustments necessary, for the vast majority of users.""* (This review written by a legal assistant) - We were previously using a Brother all-in-one printer scanner for our office scanning needs, which was a COMPLETE nightmare. It always jammed, always needed babysitting, couldn't handle more than 5 pages at a time, the scan quality was atrocious, edges of the paper were always cut off even though it was supposed to scan a full page (at whatever size we had specified)... I use the app to "scan" things that can't fit through the ScanSnap, like CDs, oversized documents, etc."
"So I talked to the ScanSnap folks in customer service and they gave me this model rather than the one that comes with Evernote... The issue was that every document came in one page at a time -- let say I did a 4 page 2 sided document, in Evernote 8 pages emerged... So to the purchaser with the grievance with ScanSnap makers, Fujitsu, please contact them."
"The feed rollers are consumables, so when they wear out you can replace them instead of needing to replace the scanner, easy to clean and maintain. The only reason it doesn't rate better is that it did not come with the AC adapter, I had to order one because I didn't have the time to return the scanner and wait for another one to be shipped all because of a stupid AC adapter. If mine was missing I'm sure others will be missing as well, that's a pretty big oversight for Fujitsu quality control when boxing their product."
"So I went to Office Max and they don't carry them but talked to the sales guy for 30 minutes or more and he said you have to pay the money which I was ready to fed up... Great quality on all Pictures, receipts, legal documents and crap that will of course come out like it is (crumbled receipts, rain damaged, a crap to scan in the first place) point is you get what you scan. Easy to set up and lets you put your documents where you want it or use their program which isn't bad unless you know how to program."
"" That is not an acceptable answer. Otherwise, once you get it working, you can't find a more convenient or faster scanner. The one button operation makes it very convenient and easy to use."

"After scanning thousands of pieces of paper, I'll get a call from a client telling me the paper jams when they scan or feeds in crooked... For the first time in 9 years of installations I am replacing one IX500 and that is only because one too many staples have inadvertently gone through the automatic feeder and the glass is now deeply scratched... I did look into the cost to have Fujitsu fix it, but the cost of having it repaired was almost as much as buying a new scanner and we can receive the new one in 2 days using Amazon Prime rather than sending in the other unit back to Fujitsu, waiting for them to rebuild the optic glass and ship it back. A couple of months ago I had a customer decide to purchase Xerox Documate 3125's for their office instead of Fujitsu IX-500's (because they were less expensive)... After making numerous calls to the Documate support, and spending almost 4 hours on the phone with them testing and re-configuring their default settings for each scanner, they figured out what needed to be done to correct the problem... The Fujitsu IX-500's and the Paperstream software from Fujitsu that comes with the scanners work effortlessly right out of the box, with very few manual adjustments necessary, for the vast majority of users... That was NOT the experience I had with the competitive product.""* (This review written by a legal assistant) - We were previously using a Brother all-in-one printer scanner for our office scanning needs, which was a COMPLETE nightmare. It always jammed, always needed babysitting, couldn't handle more than 5 pages at a time, the scan quality was atrocious, edges of the paper were always cut off even though it was supposed to scan a full page (at whatever size we had specified)... When we received this Fujitsu ScanSnap I almost cried... We've probably scanned thousands of pages with it (and even accidentally forgot to take a few staples out) and it is still chugging along with no problems... I use the app to "scan" things that can't fit through the ScanSnap, like CDs, oversized documents, etc... I couldn't recommend this scanner more, whether for office use, or for your personal space (if you need to digitize and clean up a lifetime of hoarded personal documents)... One thing to note: several times a day the wireless connection will drop and reconnect."
"So I talked to the ScanSnap folks in customer service and they gave me this model rather than the one that comes with Evernote... Got it going but the scanning was not as efficient as the old scanner (new one is very sleek, quiet, not prone to jam though!... My old scanner was a ScanSnap Evernote edition and the nice girl told me that what I had was not the Evernote edition. The issue was that every document came in one page at a time -- let say I did a 4 page 2 sided document, in Evernote 8 pages emerged. Her solution was to command-click on those pages in their correct order then the Merge menu would pop up and I just needed to select Merge... In the meantime I had sent an email to Fujitsu not expecting an answer ... So to the purchaser with the grievance with ScanSnap makers, Fujitsu, please contact them."
