Very Quick

"I love how easy it is to use- Timex watches are always a bit tricky to set because they have so *many* functions, but I was able to get it set and on my wrist a couple of minutes after getting it out of the shipping box."

"Don't have to worry about getting it wet when washing dishes or washing your hands (and please wash your hands when appropriate!"

"It looked like a toy with elastic and everything, but it was really the only digital kids Timex watch without silly graphics."

"Two things I don't like are that they have made the numbers smaller since the first time I bought this (and my eyes got older, not younger!"

"The plastic strap is long enough for a regular sized wrist, but since my wrists are on the small size, I was able to easily trim it with sizzors and you can't tell."

"when you push any button other than the light-up button, it beeps."

"However, this one is worth the little extra because (i) this is much more user friendly, and (ii) this has more features (such as 24 hour stopwatch)."

"This is my second 1440 Timex- I bought the teal one about two years ago and it's still running fine but the band has started to yellow a bit, so I decided for the price I should just get a new one... I love how easy it is to use- Timex watches are always a bit tricky to set because they have so *many* functions, but I was able to get it set and on my wrist a couple of minutes after getting it out of the shipping box... I have splurged on some high-end watches and they all have wound up not working (the water exposure is too much for even divers watches) so paying under twenty for a watch that I love the looks of and then getting a year or two out of it is fine by me."

") chime 24/7; 24-hour stopwatch; 24-hour countdown timer; alarm; and INDIGLO night light. It is also water-resistant as long as case and buttons are intact; don't push the buttons while under water. Don't have to worry about getting it wet when washing dishes or washing your hands (and please wash your hands when appropriate!"

"We returned a different watch which was on my 8 year old daughter's wish list and gifted to her at Christmas 2011... It looked like a toy with elastic and everything, but it was really the only digital kids Timex watch without silly graphics... The strap is a little too long for her very thin wrists, but she says it is much more comfortable compared to the returned gift."

"I like it because I can: use the timer to see how long something takes; push the indigo light button to see time in the dark; and wear it in the shower, bath, pool... Two things I don't like are that they have made the numbers smaller since the first time I bought this (and my eyes got older, not younger!... So after wearing this watch three months, it is already time for another one!"

"The plastic strap is long enough for a regular sized wrist, but since my wrists are on the small size, I was able to easily trim it with sizzors and you can't tell... Once I got it figured out it wasn't too bad, but I'll have to save the instructions whenever I need to switch from/to daylight savings time since it's not intuitive on how to do it without the instructions. I also didn't want the other features, like the stop watch, timer, and alarm, but the backlight feature is nice."

"I've had several of those, but decided to replace my last one with a less expensive alternative. I wanted a watch for my bedside table so that I could check the time in the middle of the night... when you push any button other than the light-up button, it beeps."

"However, this one is worth the little extra because (i) this is much more user friendly, and (ii) this has more features (such as 24 hour stopwatch)... In comparison, the prior watch had the same four buttons but did not have them marked. The user manual showed which buttons to press in what sequence to set time, alarm, etc."

Less Quick

"This is my second 1440 Timex- I bought the teal one about two years ago and it's still running fine but the band has started to yellow a bit, so I decided for the price I should just get a new one... I wanted a nice, readable, chunky watch that didn't look like I was wearing a hubcap on my arm but also didn't look like a dainty little girls' watch, either... I love how easy it is to use- Timex watches are always a bit tricky to set because they have so *many* functions, but I was able to get it set and on my wrist a couple of minutes after getting it out of the shipping box. I love how durable it is- I swim five miles a day and I garden, so I needed an inexpensive watch that could take tons of moisture, sun exposure, water submersion, exposure to scratchy twigs, and all around rough-housing and continue to work, and the Timex fits the bill. Trust me, I know in time the color of the watch will fade, the silver paint will chip off, and the band will most likely yellow (most Timex watches, especially those with the "gelly" plastic bands do this..... I have splurged on some high-end watches and they all have wound up not working (the water exposure is too much for even divers watches) so paying under twenty for a watch that I love the looks of and then getting a year or two out of it is fine by me. This is not a timepiece you will pass on to your kids, it's basically a disposable watch that you only have to replace every few years."

"The resin strap is comfortable; the watch is very light on the wrist... The enclosed instructions for set up are easy to read and understand. Basic features are 12-hour or 24-hour format; 2nd time zone setting; optional hourly (why would you want that? ) chime 24/7; 24-hour stopwatch; 24-hour countdown timer; alarm; and INDIGLO night light. It is also water-resistant as long as case and buttons are intact; don't push the buttons while under water. Don't have to worry about getting it wet when washing dishes or washing your hands (and please wash your hands when appropriate!... Hope this helps anyone who's thinking of purchasing a no fuss sports watch and doesn't want to spend tons of money."

"We returned a different watch which was on my 8 year old daughter's wish list and gifted to her at Christmas 2011... It looked like a toy with elastic and everything, but it was really the only digital kids Timex watch without silly graphics... The strap is a little too long for her very thin wrists, but she says it is much more comfortable compared to the returned gift... Setting the watch without use of the manual was easy. The buttons are a little stiff though so I did have to do it for her. She can push them for use of the mode or indiglo buttons, but repeatedly pushing for her is harder. Purple jelly in color, not really translucent, though light passing through is of no use to a watch band around a wrist."

"This is the third watch like this I've had. I like it because I can: use the timer to see how long something takes; push the indigo light button to see time in the dark; and wear it in the shower, bath, pool. And it's cheap! Two things I don't like are that they have made the numbers smaller since the first time I bought this (and my eyes got older, not younger! ) and the plastic "crystal" (face) is easily scratched. Right now I have gotten two scratches on the face, one of which is wide and directly over the hour number, and it pretty much totally obscures it. So after wearing this watch three months, it is already time for another one!"

"I wanted a watch I could wear snorkeling or around water. Not only is it waterproof, it's a great purple color to match my swimwear. The plastic strap is long enough for a regular sized wrist, but since my wrists are on the small size, I was able to easily trim it with sizzors and you can't tell... The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was slightly difficult to follow the instructions to set the date and time. Once I got it figured out it wasn't too bad, but I'll have to save the instructions whenever I need to switch from/to daylight savings time since it's not intuitive on how to do it without the instructions. I also didn't want the other features, like the stop watch, timer, and alarm, but the backlight feature is nice. Other than the minor difficulty with setting the time, I really like the watch."

"I got this watch as a less expensive replacement for an Ironman watch that had stopped working... Pros: It looks really cool - the purple and silvertone look a lot nicer in person than I had expected... I've had several of those, but decided to replace my last one with a less expensive alternative. I wanted a watch for my bedside table so that I could check the time in the middle of the night... when you push any button other than the light-up button, it beeps. And there is no way to set the watch not to beep... He was convinced he could turn off the beep even though I couldn't."

"My daughters, ages 9 and 10 got this watch from "Santa Claus", and they, as well as I and my wife, we all, love it... However, this one is worth the little extra because (i) this is much more user friendly, and (ii) this has more features (such as 24 hour stopwatch)... In comparison, the prior watch had the same four buttons but did not have them marked. The user manual showed which buttons to press in what sequence to set time, alarm, etc... One, the stopwatch function and two, the second time zone feature. One thing that slightly disappointed me was that the numeric display of this watch is no bigger than of the previous ($5) watch we had... If you are thinking of whether to buy this or not, I would say - go for it."
