"and doesn't have: This watch DOES have * 12/24 hour time keeping * time, day, and date display * light for viewing the display in the dark * daily alarm * split lap stopwatch * water resistance for situations like getting caught in the rain This watch DOES NOT have * countdown timer * dual timezone time keeping * monthly and yearly alarm * water resistance for situations like washing the car or swimming Why I am disappointed with this watch: So many of the same features I have come to rely on daily or almost daily are not available with this watch-- 1) I do a lot of stuff in the kitchen that requires a timer, and I was able to just set the countdown alarm on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 2) I work with people in different time zones, and I travel a lot, and I was able to just set the dual timezone time keepers on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 3) I would often need to remind myself of something I needed to do at a certain time later in the week, and so I could just set my monthly or yearly alarm to go off on at a specific time on a specific day on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 4) I tend to put stuff down and forget where I put it.""This watch is a throwback to another era, I know because I had a several of them back when I was in middle school and high school!"
"During my search I saw that there were several Casio watches with metal band (for durability), but then I saw this watch which is notable because 1) its a metal band, and more importantly 2) it wasn't those "elasticky"/stretchy metal bands, but rather a regular metal band."
"I get probably 8-10 years out of these before the case will somehow fail (finish rubbed off the first after much wear, watchband pin hole fractured on the second after many years), but the internals keep on ticking and keeping accurate time."
"This is the perfect watch for that duty, as it will run at least 7 years on a battery, if the alarm and light aren't used much."
"This is my favorite watch, and I don't think a better one has been made since the 80's or whenever this thing was originally made."
"Over the course fo a few weeks, nearly every guy (and more than a few of the gals) in my class not only had a watch that beeped, but we all had them perfectly synchronized to the school bell."

"I read the product description and the reviews here on Amazon and didn't find anything about the countdown timer, which is one of the features of my previous Casio watches that I used most often... and doesn't have: This watch DOES have * 12/24 hour time keeping * time, day, and date display * light for viewing the display in the dark * daily alarm * split lap stopwatch * water resistance for situations like getting caught in the rain This watch DOES NOT have * countdown timer * dual timezone time keeping * monthly and yearly alarm * water resistance for situations like washing the car or swimming Why I am disappointed with this watch: So many of the same features I have come to rely on daily or almost daily are not available with this watch-- 1) I do a lot of stuff in the kitchen that requires a timer, and I was able to just set the countdown alarm on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 2) I work with people in different time zones, and I travel a lot, and I was able to just set the dual timezone time keepers on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 3) I would often need to remind myself of something I needed to do at a certain time later in the week, and so I could just set my monthly or yearly alarm to go off on at a specific time on a specific day on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 4) I tend to put stuff down and forget where I put it... Other stuff I'm not happy about: The metal band is pretty cheesy, which other reviewers here have commented on as well so I expected it--but it is *really* cheesy.""This watch is a throwback to another era, I know because I had a several of them back when I was in middle school and high school!... I tend to buy inexpensive watches, the $30 Timex that I don't have to worry about banging against the side of a desk or damaging at work... It's been over 3 months since I've gotten this watch and I've been wearing it every day practically non-stop!"
"After googling the best digital watches that were cheap as well, the general consensus was that Casio was the ideal choice save a problem with the bands being able to break after after a year or two (better than a week anyway). During my search I saw that there were several Casio watches with metal band (for durability), but then I saw this watch which is notable because 1) its a metal band, and more importantly 2) it wasn't those "elasticky"/stretchy metal bands, but rather a regular metal band... -The watch is too small, and seems to be made for a woman, not a man: I'm not sure what type of sausage wrists you have, but this is about on par with any digital watch I've seen."
"I get probably 8-10 years out of these before the case will somehow fail (finish rubbed off the first after much wear, watchband pin hole fractured on the second after many years), but the internals keep on ticking and keeping accurate time... Since these Casios are so accurate, the only other time I have to take the back off is when the battery needs replacing... My experience is that despite grime and moisture, and rough treatment, these watches have held up much better than the Seiko and Timexes I've bought for my office job."
"The feature set, you can read about on Casio-USA's website, so I won't go into that much... When I'm wearing this watch, I forget that it's on, sometimes... This is the perfect watch for that duty, as it will run at least 7 years on a battery, if the alarm and light aren't used much."
"This is my favorite watch, and I don't think a better one has been made since the 80's or whenever this thing was originally made... It's pretty water resistant too, as I've gotten it sprayed many a time while working with irrigation, and it gets rained on now and then too. I haven't destroyed one yet in years of landscaping, but I did lose my first one which is why I bought another."
"Over the course fo a few weeks, nearly every guy (and more than a few of the gals) in my class not only had a watch that beeped, but we all had them perfectly synchronized to the school bell... Another reviewer mentioned that he thought this was a women's model when he opened the box - completely understandable with this watch... The description says the crystal is mineral glass - but of course it also says the case is stainless steel, so we'll just have to see how that holds up."

"Why I bought this watch: I have worn Casio digital watches for the past 20 years and have loved the multi-function features and the durability of the watches themselves. My other Casio watches have all had 12/24 hour time keeping, dual timezone time keeping, programmable day/month/year alarm, split lap stopwatch, countdown timer, and the ability to be submerged in water up to 50 meters deep. The reason I keep buying new watches is that the bomb-proof watches come with these cheesy plastic bands that break way too easily... I read the product description and the reviews here on Amazon and didn't find anything about the countdown timer, which is one of the features of my previous Casio watches that I used most often... and doesn't have: This watch DOES have * 12/24 hour time keeping * time, day, and date display * light for viewing the display in the dark * daily alarm * split lap stopwatch * water resistance for situations like getting caught in the rain This watch DOES NOT have * countdown timer * dual timezone time keeping * monthly and yearly alarm * water resistance for situations like washing the car or swimming Why I am disappointed with this watch: So many of the same features I have come to rely on daily or almost daily are not available with this watch-- 1) I do a lot of stuff in the kitchen that requires a timer, and I was able to just set the countdown alarm on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 2) I work with people in different time zones, and I travel a lot, and I was able to just set the dual timezone time keepers on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 3) I would often need to remind myself of something I needed to do at a certain time later in the week, and so I could just set my monthly or yearly alarm to go off on at a specific time on a specific day on my trusty Casio watch (but not this one) 4) I tend to put stuff down and forget where I put it... When the instructions say not to wear it while washing the car or while swimming, one assumes it's not OK to wear it in the shower either, where one usually gets wetter than when one washes the car. Other stuff I'm not happy about: The metal band is pretty cheesy, which other reviewers here have commented on as well so I expected it--but it is *really* cheesy.""This watch is a throwback to another era, I know because I had a several of them back when I was in middle school and high school!... I tend to buy inexpensive watches, the $30 Timex that I don't have to worry about banging against the side of a desk or damaging at work. I had decided to buy myself something a bit more upscale and was searching around on Amazon for watches when I came across this... It was digital and it was much less expensive than even my normal beater watches but the nostalgia drew me in and the price was so cheap I said "why not?... Well after getting it in I put it on and decided I liked the geeky retroness of it and planned only to wear it now and then but I love the slim design and how "unbulky" it is on my wrist... I have also started to really appreciate the hourly chime and daily alarm features that you can't get on an inexpensive analog watch. It's been over 3 months since I've gotten this watch and I've been wearing it every day practically non-stop!"
"They we both cheap digitals, but they had made me somewhat used to having the digital time on hand again... After googling the best digital watches that were cheap as well, the general consensus was that Casio was the ideal choice save a problem with the bands being able to break after after a year or two (better than a week anyway). During my search I saw that there were several Casio watches with metal band (for durability), but then I saw this watch which is notable because 1) its a metal band, and more importantly 2) it wasn't those "elasticky"/stretchy metal bands, but rather a regular metal band... However I saw some reviews that I simply disagree with: -The metal looks tacky: While I'll admit its quite thin, its not bad... -The watch is too small, and seems to be made for a woman, not a man: I'm not sure what type of sausage wrists you have, but this is about on par with any digital watch I've seen... I also have a few of my own notes to share: - While not rocket science, the setting of functions on this watch isn't as intuitive as other digitals I've used... To me anyway; any metal banded watch I've owned has had an enclosed clasp."
"I get probably 8-10 years out of these before the case will somehow fail (finish rubbed off the first after much wear, watchband pin hole fractured on the second after many years), but the internals keep on ticking and keeping accurate time... Like all of my other watches, the first fail point on these, after many years, is the buttons... Once that happens on the Casios, I just remove the back, force the buttons outward, and then touch the contacts that the buttons would otherwise contact in order to do the DST to Standard time settings in the Spring and Fall. Since these Casios are so accurate, the only other time I have to take the back off is when the battery needs replacing... Note that this happens to all of my watches eventually, even with less dust and moisture, if they keep working long enough. My experience is that despite grime and moisture, and rough treatment, these watches have held up much better than the Seiko and Timexes I've bought for my office job. They are an awesome choice in the low price category and I would recommend them to anyone."
"I went for the chrome A158W, instead of the plastic F91W, which is the same watch, internally... I really wanted the dressy chrome look on the watch head, and I figured I could dress it back up again in the future with a glossy lizard strap. The feature set, you can read about on Casio-USA's website, so I won't go into that much... Everything's easy to use and set if you take 2 minutes with the manual... When I'm wearing this watch, I forget that it's on, sometimes... It is not sealed up so tight for waterproofness (this one's only rated as splashproof) that it makes the alarm notably quieter... This is the perfect watch for that duty, as it will run at least 7 years on a battery, if the alarm and light aren't used much."
"This is my favorite watch, and I don't think a better one has been made since the 80's or whenever this thing was originally made... It tells the date, day of week, and time in hours, minutes and seconds... It's got a dinky little light in case you need to tell time in the dark for some reason... Still, it's holding up pretty well considering I use this watch to keep time when I'm at work landscaping, and I often drag the watch across boulders, trees, and fences while I'm maneuvering about. It's pretty water resistant too, as I've gotten it sprayed many a time while working with irrigation, and it gets rained on now and then too. I haven't destroyed one yet in years of landscaping, but I did lose my first one which is why I bought another. I hope Casio keeps making this watch forever because it is classic and it gets the job done."
"Over the course fo a few weeks, nearly every guy (and more than a few of the gals) in my class not only had a watch that beeped, but we all had them perfectly synchronized to the school bell... It was through looking for older watches that I came across this modern, yet retro-inspired, watch... Some people might enjoy this and not look at it as a negative, and if it were only the weight that might be one thing, but the size is off as well... And although the case is described here on Amazon as stainless steel, I'm having a really hard time believing that. It looks and feels just like plastic with a shiny chrome coat... Another reviewer mentioned that he thought this was a women's model when he opened the box - completely understandable with this watch... The description says the crystal is mineral glass - but of course it also says the case is stainless steel, so we'll just have to see how that holds up."
