Casio Men s MRW200H-1BV Black Resin Dive Watch

Very Quick

"4 ounces wrist fit: buckle to: last hole in band appox 9 1/4 inches, end of band approx 10 1/4 inches note: my wrist appox 7 1/2 inches fits band hole 5 (of 11) comfort not tight Side note: when I was diving seriously I had a $50 100m resin Casio that looked like this, but had real Luminance, one way bezel, a scratch proof crystal and went below 100' (even 130 at times) on a regular basis for over 5 years until I lost it."

"Unless you're worried about reading the day of week or date in the early hours of the morning, the system for changing these should not be a problem."

"Not that I wear my watches to get comments, but if I did, this one would have been a much better return on my money than the others."

"I didn't worry much, considering how few one star reviews this watch actually had on Amazon."

"Really, my 'frog' watches (I had a series of them over the years- 2 to 5 year lifespan on them, just the battery fails or the band never the watch itself) suited me in all respects but one."

"Other reviewers complained that it was difficult to set the time and date and I will admit that there is a trick to it but it is well explained in the accompanying manual and after I followed the specific instructions it worked fine for me."

"I put this Casio under very bright direct LED flashlight, (30 bright white LEDs) about 6 inches from the dial, for half an hour, but within 15 minutes after removing it from the light, the luminous items on the watch face were already so dim I could not see the watch in a pitch black room."

"4 ounces wrist fit: buckle to: last hole in band appox 9 1/4 inches, end of band approx 10 1/4 inches note: my wrist appox 7 1/2 inches fits band hole 5 (of 11) comfort not tight Side note: when I was diving seriously I had a $50 100m resin Casio that looked like this, but had real Luminance, one way bezel, a scratch proof crystal and went below 100' (even 130 at times) on a regular basis for over 5 years until I lost it... After resetting many times I finally got it to change properly but since it has a second language the day of week doesn't show until about 4am... set time by rotating crown to current time, push crown in to restart time (second hand wil restart) For most accurate time setting: pull crown out to 2nd position when second hand at 12 (,this will stop second hand), set time by rotating crown to 10 min past time and reverse to current time + one Minute, when your master timer (computer, cell phone, or Government central clock that shows seconds ) reaches the exact minute-zero seconds you set push crown in immediately and your watch is "set to the second" or synchronized."

"Next time, I'll buy something at this price not from Amazon, but from a local store because the Amazon return policy for cheap items is crazy... Unless you're worried about reading the day of week or date in the early hours of the morning, the system for changing these should not be a problem... Once its set up correctly, you'll only have to change the day of month on some months, until the battery runs out."

"What's better is in the scenario above, where the watch wearer finds himself swimming with the fishes under the pier, if it's dark, the glow in the dark dial and hands will aid and assist in visibility if it's dark (and water gets dark the deeper you get)... Final comment: I've worn expensive watches all my life, and when I had to put them all into the watch hospital for repair, I bought this watch so that I can at least tell time... Not that I wear my watches to get comments, but if I did, this one would have been a much better return on my money than the others."

"I didn't worry much, considering how few one star reviews this watch actually had on Amazon... Not that I've put it thru a torture test, but it has performed perfectly as a daily wear watch thru some exposure to water(never submerged though), and plenty of tossing & bumping around... I've found the Casio since, but I no longer wear it for obvious reasons, so this would be the last update of my review."

"After years of wearing $20 digital waterproof watches (known as 'frogs' here in AUS), on a whim, I purchased this retro analog casio... Indeed, the watch duly arrived after a couple of weeks; in a package that could have comfortably held a Gideon Bible, triple wrapped in industrial strength packing tape, sturdy cardboard with cushioning plastic bubbles, and an original plastic display box... Really, my 'frog' watches (I had a series of them over the years- 2 to 5 year lifespan on them, just the battery fails or the band never the watch itself) suited me in all respects but one."

"Other reviewers complained that it was difficult to set the time and date and I will admit that there is a trick to it but it is well explained in the accompanying manual and after I followed the specific instructions it worked fine for me... This watch does not have a screw down crown (the part that you pull out and turn to set the time) and the stainless steel back that provides access to the battery is not of a screw down design but rather is held in place by 4 tiny screws on each corner. The manual says that it is ok to wear this watch in a pool or shower or while windsurfing or "skin diving" (snorkeling) but warns not to do so if your are "scuba diving or doing any other type of dive that requires air tanks."

"I wanted something analog and easy to set, but did not want one with added digital features that, if I bumped a button, would require me to dig out a manual to figure out how to get things "back"... I put this Casio under very bright direct LED flashlight, (30 bright white LEDs) about 6 inches from the dial, for half an hour, but within 15 minutes after removing it from the light, the luminous items on the watch face were already so dim I could not see the watch in a pitch black room... The weekday is bilingual, alternating languages for each day, and what it does is actually change TWO positions, so it stays on the language you choose when you set it."

"In about 15 minutes the numbers are gone, but the hands still visible for a quite a while longer... 4 ounces wrist fit: buckle to: last hole in band appox 9 1/4 inches, end of band approx 10 1/4 inches note: my wrist appox 7 1/2 inches fits band hole 5 (of 11) comfort not tight Side note: when I was diving seriously I had a $50 100m resin Casio that looked like this, but had real Luminance, one way bezel, a scratch proof crystal and went below 100' (even 130 at times) on a regular basis for over 5 years until I lost it... Avoid setting date or day of week between 9pm and 5am as they may not change correctly the next day(per Casio) Date- pull crown out to 1st position, rotate counterclockwise until correct date shows in window... After resetting many times I finally got it to change properly but since it has a second language the day of week doesn't show until about 4am... set time by rotating crown to current time, push crown in to restart time (second hand wil restart) For most accurate time setting: pull crown out to 2nd position when second hand at 12 (,this will stop second hand), set time by rotating crown to 10 min past time and reverse to current time + one Minute, when your master timer (computer, cell phone, or Government central clock that shows seconds ) reaches the exact minute-zero seconds you set push crown in immediately and your watch is "set to the second" or synchronized... Without moving bezel you can tell "elapsed" time by looking at which number on the bezel the minute hand is pointing at; up to one hour... An alternate and less used way for bidirectional bezels is to turn the triangle/arrow on the bezel to the time you want to end timing: ie time is 4:07 and you want to run 20 minutes, set bezel triangle/arrow to 4:27 then run until minute hand points to bezel triangle/arrow."

"Next time, I'll buy something at this price not from Amazon, but from a local store because the Amazon return policy for cheap items is crazy. Revised Review after one day: Perhaps due to the extremely negative review, the Casio fairy came during the night and sprinkled pixie dust on the watch and the day started working correctly and in English instead of Spanish... Stem has two clicks: First for Day and Week and Month, Second for Time; On first click one direction changes day of week, the other changes day of month... Unless you're worried about reading the day of week or date in the early hours of the morning, the system for changing these should not be a problem... Many customers seem to be familiar with analog watches and do not have the problem I had at first... If the days are changing during daytime, move time forward or back 12 hours so that it changes during the night. Once its set up correctly, you'll only have to change the day of month on some months, until the battery runs out."

"It may not sound like a big deal, but when you get older, this is a very important feature... What's better is in the scenario above, where the watch wearer finds himself swimming with the fishes under the pier, if it's dark, the glow in the dark dial and hands will aid and assist in visibility if it's dark (and water gets dark the deeper you get)... I looked for days and days, and while there are cheaper watches out there, they cannot match the quality or the features... Final comment: I've worn expensive watches all my life, and when I had to put them all into the watch hospital for repair, I bought this watch so that I can at least tell time... More people noticed this watch and commented on its awesomeness than they did when I wore my much nicer and more expensive watches. Not that I wear my watches to get comments, but if I did, this one would have been a much better return on my money than the others... Bottom line: if you need a watch that does it all for under $20 and will last and last, then buy this watch."

"While I didn't like the cheap build, I'm not gonna lie, I really liked the look of this watch, especially considering the price... After I had already placed the order for the watch, I noticed some one star reviews noting the defective calendar dial. I didn't worry much, considering how few one star reviews this watch actually had on Amazon. I got mine delivered just today, and indeed, my 'day' setting was stuck & would not move... Not that I've put it thru a torture test, but it has performed perfectly as a daily wear watch thru some exposure to water(never submerged though), and plenty of tossing & bumping around... ***FINAL UPDATE*** 3/12/15 I originally purchased this watch knowing that its design borrowed heavily from the Luminox Navy SEAL watch...

Still, I feel that a rigid cylinder, 2" in diameter & 2" long would have sufficed and cost 1/3 the price as well as being a better environmental option... On the down side, someone skimped on the glow ingredient in the paint on the numerals so that in darkness the numbers rapidly fade to black like the sordid ending to a sex scene in a B grade movie. Fortunately every other blessed device I own comes with a time feature -camera, computer, car, video player, phone- and is back lit for ease of reading in the dark. Really, my 'frog' watches (I had a series of them over the years- 2 to 5 year lifespan on them, just the battery fails or the band never the watch itself) suited me in all respects but one... Just a single old fashioned fob nestled snugly between its 2 pillars, going nowhere doing nothing unless actively pulled and intentionally twirled."

"I've compared it with watches of a similar design that I saw in department stores and they were selling for four times as much as I paid for this one!... Other reviewers complained that it was difficult to set the time and date and I will admit that there is a trick to it but it is well explained in the accompanying manual and after I followed the specific instructions it worked fine for me... This watch does not have a screw down crown (the part that you pull out and turn to set the time) and the stainless steel back that provides access to the battery is not of a screw down design but rather is held in place by 4 tiny screws on each corner. The manual says that it is ok to wear this watch in a pool or shower or while windsurfing or "skin diving" (snorkeling) but warns not to do so if your are "scuba diving or doing any other type of dive that requires air tanks... I have a very thin wrist and I was able to snip off easily the excess end of the rubber band end with a pair of ordinary scissors for a perfect fit. A famous industrial designer once said that if two competing products were of the same quality and price, the one that was better looking would always be the best seller. This watch is much better looking than any other watch that I've seen in it's price range and I hereby pronounce it a "best seller!"

"I wanted something analog and easy to set, but did not want one with added digital features that, if I bumped a button, would require me to dig out a manual to figure out how to get things "back". One of the analog + digital watches I really liked had in its instructions "push button B six times to...... And that is what I just ordered again to replace this Casio watch, which I'll keep as a spare, since it was only $17. I put this Casio under very bright direct LED flashlight, (30 bright white LEDs) about 6 inches from the dial, for half an hour, but within 15 minutes after removing it from the light, the luminous items on the watch face were already so dim I could not see the watch in a pitch black room... I have large wrists and have often had to buy extra long watch bands... So I turned the hands forward until I found midnight and watched the day and date change... The weekday is bilingual, alternating languages for each day, and what it does is actually change TWO positions, so it stays on the language you choose when you set it."
