Casio F91W-1 Classic Resin Strap Digital Sport Watch

Very Quick

"At school I sometimes even abuse my watch in front of my friends by slapping it on the table with full force to show them that they DO NOT wanna get slapped by this thing (it's just a joke; I would never hurt anyone unless there is very good reason since I'm pretty passive, but they're now aware I have a makeshift weapon with me at all times)."

"either you stumbled on the F91W-1 by looking at some of the cheapest Amazon stocked watches Or you read from Wikipedia, or some watch forums, or other sources that this Casio is the favorite among the terrorist group."

"There are probably dozens of other digital watches which are similarly cheap and have the features noted above, but for reasons of practicality (using one model means fewer variables to account for and greater synchronization) or historical accident, Casio watches, especially the F-91W, have become the brand of choice for a certain group of malfeasance."

"It feels better on the 3rd but then the little band that slides over the the excess strap after it's buckled doesn't have much to hold on to and slides off very easily."

"I suspect that I will be pushing buttons by accident more often than with previous versions of this watch which used to have one button that was in a hole so you had to push it with a fingernail--that button controlled key things like changing time or the alarm."

"most of it is just for looks and when all is said and done, they just waste a lot of resources making a big hunk of junk to weigh your wrist down and get in the way."

"But what makes elevated it is the huge "Light" button, which I find very important and the extremely useful vibrating alarm since I am a very forgetful person, and sometimes I may be listening to something and won't hear my watch's alarm."

"I'm a 16 year old kid (you know how reckless we can get) who has had this for I think over a year now, and I can honestly say this thing is REALLY DURABLE!!... At school I sometimes even abuse my watch in front of my friends by slapping it on the table with full force to show them that they DO NOT wanna get slapped by this thing (it's just a joke; I would never hurt anyone unless there is very good reason since I'm pretty passive, but they're now aware I have a makeshift weapon with me at all times)... The light it has is very long lasting as well, and is bright enough that you can use it as a very makeshift flashlight for things that are very close to you by facing the light away from you and pressing the button for it."

"either you stumbled on the F91W-1 by looking at some of the cheapest Amazon stocked watches Or you read from Wikipedia, or some watch forums, or other sources that this Casio is the favorite among the terrorist group... (Although this might not be that big of a deal in todays cell phone oriented world) Pros: It is designed to be simple and intuitive, the trait of most Casios. Button placement and functions are down right instinctive once you use it for a day or two."

"It s resilient, too: it is water resistant with a battery-life of seven years, and if replace the battery at that point, according to many reviewers, you can get another seven years out of it easily... And finally, as the second Guardian article explains, you can set a really long countdown timer on the Casio -- it is programmable up to 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, [so] it allows the bombers to put ample distance between themselves and their targets. There are probably dozens of other digital watches which are similarly cheap and have the features noted above, but for reasons of practicality (using one model means fewer variables to account for and greater synchronization) or historical accident, Casio watches, especially the F-91W, have become the brand of choice for a certain group of malfeasance."

"It feels better on the 3rd but then the little band that slides over the the excess strap after it's buckled doesn't have much to hold on to and slides off very easily. If you wear it on the 1st or second hole, you won't even be able to utilize the little band the the end of the watch strap will always stick out from your wrist... It's rather light on features but has all the main ones you would need in a basic digital watch."

"The last one was a bit fast--I would have kept it in spite of this but the arm band broke and I could not get a replacement at my local watch store that used to stock those I so decided to "splurge" and spend another $10 for a new one... When you get up close you can see colors (a blue line around the outside and red writing at the bottom) which look a bit cheezy, but from most angles and at a distance those are hard to see... I suspect that I will be pushing buttons by accident more often than with previous versions of this watch which used to have one button that was in a hole so you had to push it with a fingernail--that button controlled key things like changing time or the alarm."

"i use my watch at work all the time and have had several different ones over the last few years... most of it is just for looks and when all is said and done, they just waste a lot of resources making a big hunk of junk to weigh your wrist down and get in the way... that means you can put on a coat or shirt without it being a pain in the butt getting the watch through the sleeve."

"This watch's lighting aspect is so bad that I wouldn't even wear it if I got paid $15 to (which funnily is what happened because when I tried to refund it, Amazon politely accepted my refund AND surprised me by saying I can keep the watch too)!... But what makes elevated it is the huge "Light" button, which I find very important and the extremely useful vibrating alarm since I am a very forgetful person, and sometimes I may be listening to something and won't hear my watch's alarm. Also, Casio Men's WV58A-1AVCR Waveceptor Atomic Digital Watch: Has a similar designed strap (comfortable), which, as mentioned before, is what makes the Casio F91W-1 Classic Resin Strap Digital Sport Watch good!"

"I'm a 16 year old kid (you know how reckless we can get) who has had this for I think over a year now, and I can honestly say this thing is REALLY DURABLE!!... The light it has is very long lasting as well, and is bright enough that you can use it as a very makeshift flashlight for things that are very close to you by facing the light away from you and pressing the button for it... You may only need to look at the manual probably 2-5 times before you remember everything necessary because it's just so simple... Make sure the button does not lay under or over the Signal Connector, only to the side of it where it can be pressed... You want to bend the Connector to the point it doesn't always touch the Receiver (the thing that actually performs the function of each button), or you will have a frozen watch... ) When the button finally works again after some toying around, put the rubber thing back in, pressing every corner back into place, and then screw the case back into place very tightly."

"after some thoughts, this Casio deserves every bit of my highest recommendations so I decided to go for it If you are reading this ... either you stumbled on the F91W-1 by looking at some of the cheapest Amazon stocked watches Or you read from Wikipedia, or some watch forums, or other sources that this Casio is the favorite among the terrorist group... (Although this might not be that big of a deal in todays cell phone oriented world) Pros: It is designed to be simple and intuitive, the trait of most Casios. Button placement and functions are down right instinctive once you use it for a day or two... The battery life is an amazing 7 years (given you use certain functions only once or twice a day... It feels like you are wearing a feather or nothing at all... I think degrees of water resistance is how Casio separates their cheapest products from the slightly more expensive one."

"After a month's use, I am very happy with this watch: small, accurate, relatively easy even for a codger to change time and other readings... It s resilient, too: it is water resistant with a battery-life of seven years, and if replace the battery at that point, according to many reviewers, you can get another seven years out of it easily... That makes sense -- it's cheap, resilient, and mass produced; you can train a person on the watch and they can procure one pretty much anywhere. Second, as another Guardian article reported, there's a religious reason: according to testimony given by one prisoner, the model was useful because it was water-resistant: Muslims wash their arms up to their elbows before prayers. And finally, as the second Guardian article explains, you can set a really long countdown timer on the Casio -- it is programmable up to 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, [so] it allows the bombers to put ample distance between themselves and their targets. There are probably dozens of other digital watches which are similarly cheap and have the features noted above, but for reasons of practicality (using one model means fewer variables to account for and greater synchronization) or historical accident, Casio watches, especially the F-91W, have become the brand of choice for a certain group of malfeasance... If you browse through their site -- check you may notice something curious: in every case, the time is 10:58 and 50 seconds."

Since the bezel is flush with the screen, it would probably be pretty easy to scratch if you rubbed it up against a wall or something. There is a small green LED light on the left side of the display that can be activated to view the time in the dark... It's rather light on features but has all the main ones you would need in a basic digital watch. Time (12 and 24 hour), date, stopwatch, and alarm (with hourly chime option)... It can be abused and if it breaks or is lost, you're only out about $10 and it can easily be replaced."

"I think I've owned a total of 3 or 4 of these watches during that time- so perhaps an average life expectancy of about 5 to 7 years... The last one was a bit fast--I would have kept it in spite of this but the arm band broke and I could not get a replacement at my local watch store that used to stock those I so decided to "splurge" and spend another $10 for a new one... I used to read the directions but this one is similar enough to the ones I've had before that I was able to push buttons randomly and quickly figured it out in spite of minor differences--it is very intuitive... I have replaced batteries on Casio watches of this type, but as I recall, perhaps only 2 or 3 times in 20 years... When you get up close you can see colors (a blue line around the outside and red writing at the bottom) which look a bit cheezy, but from most angles and at a distance those are hard to see... I did often swim with previous watches similar to this--but this one is a bit smaller and cheaper than those were so I would not be surprised if it was less water tight... I suspect that I will be pushing buttons by accident more often than with previous versions of this watch which used to have one button that was in a hole so you had to push it with a fingernail--that button controlled key things like changing time or the alarm."

"i use my watch at work all the time and have had several different ones over the last few years... most of it is just for looks and when all is said and done, they just waste a lot of resources making a big hunk of junk to weigh your wrist down and get in the way... i can cover all the writing on the face of the watch with the end segment of my thumb (like making a thumb print on the screen) and it has a low, flat profile. that means you can put on a coat or shirt without it being a pain in the butt getting the watch through the sleeve... this means that if you splash it while doing dishes, or get some rain on it, your not gonna have a dud at the end of the day... of course you can switch the band out, but you may not want to do that on a new watch... 75 inch circumference wrist pretty comfortably, so you can check your wrist with a tape measure and see if it will work for you."

"As soon as I received this watch, I immediately thought it was too small, which may or may not be a good thing depending on you. I've been using my brother's G-Shock for quite a while now, and it's uncomfortable (despite all of the hype) and way too bulky!... Also, the G-Shock and many other expensive watches have many designs at the sides of the back as opposed to this watch's straight round design, which makes it ergonomic... This watch's lighting aspect is so bad that I wouldn't even wear it if I got paid $15 to (which funnily is what happened because when I tried to refund it, Amazon politely accepted my refund AND surprised me by saying I can keep the watch too)! The light: First of all, the button for the light on this watch is so tiny which may make it hard to find for some people and also to push...
